We found the Orla to be well located with very friendly and helpful staff. It is situated in a prime location right on the esplanade at Copacabana. The breakfast was excellent and staff were most helpful. We arrived a little early for normal checkin and they allowed us access to our room which we appreciated. In all our time there was very pleasant and we would highly recommend this place to stay when in Rio.

My family and I enjoyed 10 fabulous days at the Orla Copacabana in December 2007. The reviews on the travel website helped us decide to stay at this hotel - and the price was affordable. The location was just great - just minutes from Copacabana Beach and only a few blocks from Ipanema Beach. The rooms were quite small - but we spent so little time there that it really did not matter. The rooms were cleaned thoroughly every day - and the staff was efficient. We always had fresh towels in our room and more available for the pool or the beach. Without a doubt - our favorite thing about this hotel was the great breakfast buffet served daily - and for free. Typically, there were 6-8 types of fresh juice, a wide variety of delicious fruits, an assortment of pastries and danish rolls, crepes, quiche, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage. The coffee was fabulous - and always served with warm cream. It was a great way to start our mornings before we ventured off to tour! Directly behind the hotel is a Zona Sul - a local grocery store - where we were able to stock up on water, soda, beer, wine and snacks. The virtual tour of the hotel is EXACTLY as it appears - and the view from the top floor is absolutely breathtaking. We would certainly stay at this hotel again on our next visit. Leonardo - one of the managers - was most personable and able to assist us as he spoke English very well. This small, boutique-style hotel proved to be a perfect choice for location, cleanliness, affordability, and proximity to all the highlights of the exceptional city of Rio!!!!!

Close to beach, restaurants and tourist attractions. Staff was helpful and attentive. Room was a lot smaller than I thought and so was pool, but who needs the pool when you have the beach.

Wasn't posh but had everything you needed, awesome location... Breakfeast was very good. Reception was also very helpful... We stayed during carnival time so of course the pricing was like 3 times the normal price but everywhere else was the same... I give it a 3.8 out of 5.

THis was my first time in RIO, I was unsure whether to stay in Copacabana or Ipanema, this hotel is right on the COpacabana beach, but within walking distance to Ipanema. There is a farmers market next to the hotel on Sunday morning, a hippie fair a few blocks away as well. Service is very good, hotel includes both internet access and breakfast with their rates, which is convenient. Pool on the top floor is tiny but has an amazing view, and is usually not crowded, perfect for sunbathing. The rooms are very clean and have everything you need, you won't spend too much time in your room when visiting Rio. I highly recommend this place and hope to return.

Overall, this hotel is just okay. I wish I knew upfront that they would charge a 15% room tax. In addition it's their policy to charge 25% extra for a 3rd person in the room. I offered to pay cash for the room, but they would only give me 2.00 to 1.00 ratio on my US cash. The charged rate was at 2.18 to 1.00. The AC unit only worked if you had your key plugged into the wall. The AC unit didn't work very well either.

The star of the hotel is the staff: they were extremely efficient, friendly and helpful at all times. The hotel is in an excellent location, walking distance from Ipanema and local shops. The rooms were very small though, but they were quiet, clean and in excellent conditions. I would definitely recommend it to a friend - really good value for money!

Staff will try to rip you off by incresing prices and give you a small room, everyone you meet will expect a tip, pool on roof is the size of a bathtub, view from upstairs is espetacular, room is too small and room facing the back is terrible

The hotel was nice, rooms were clean, modern and had comfy beds. The pool was like a bath tub it was so small, a bit misleading when from the picture on the website. The hotel reception were very friendly and helpful when we arrived. They showed us tours we could do and said that they would be able to organise the tours for us. There were no prices on the tours brochure which we both found strange, we later found out that there were no prices because they were pretty much ripping us off. The hotel cab was charging us 65 reals each to go to the airport, we got a normal cab to the airport that day with a meter and it only cost us 50 reals between us. what we picked up from the hotel was that they organised these tours and taxis for you, they charged way more than the standard price and then they got a cut, the driver got a cut and the tour got a cut. nice hotel, just dont book anything through the reception desk

me and my girlfriend stayed here in july 06, it was excellent the service was awsome, breakfast was amazing it was like a five star resturaunt for free, ask the front desk about tours and night life. Getting a cab through the hotel is more expensive but safer. I went hangliding while I was there, don't miss it absoulutly the only way to see rio, plus the instructor fernando is a hottie. there is a tropical island tour, sign up at the front desk absolutely gorgeous. You have to try what the natives drink which you can get anywhere, called a caprinia. Any questions you can email me.

Considering we were here over New year we were impressed with the service and great comfortable beds. Great breakfasts. The pool is like a spa pool-- tiny, but otherwise we were happy with the hotel.

Nice tiny hotel for the money. Location is nice as you are on Copacabana and nearby Ipanema. Free hot breakfast every morning is nice. Rooms are small, but clean. Be sure to upgrade to a deluxe room.
