Orange Tree is a well=-maintained, fairly convenient place. The room, unfortunately, had a handful of mysterious stains on the carpet, chair, and towels. The pillows and bed were really comfortable though, the setting peaceful, poolside pleasant, and the staff very friendly. "Continental breakfast" is coffee and packaged danishes but there are some items for sale in the lobby.

Accomodations are very Motel 6-like: clean, comfortable, but nothing fancy. But I don't go to Santa Barbara to spend my time or eat at a hotel. This Inn is within walking distance of all the restaurants, shops, museums, galleries, theatres, etc. that make SB State Street famous. No other place with a similarly good location comes close to Orange Tree's price.

The Orange Tree Inn is a great place to stay in downtown Santa Barbara that is very affordable. We loved how you can just walk down the street to explore the numerous shops, restaurants, wineries, etc. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the rooms, although small, were very clean. We would recommend this hotel for any traveler who is looking for a comfortable place to sleep.

I was only in town for one night, and only to sleep the night before the concert. The room was just cleaned before I got there. It's simple you wont get a fridge or anything but you have a bed and thats all i really needed.

We chose the hotel because it was the best deal for a stay downtown santa barbara, within walking distance or a short cab ride from the shopping and nightlife on state street. Overall it is a good value for the money if you're looking to spend as little as possible on a decent hotel, meaning the rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. There was a heated pool but no restaurant or cafe onsite. However the location makes it easy to reach a number of dining places. We went for the 4th of July weekend and it was also easy to reach the viewing spots on the beach for the fireworks. Also, our room had an outside balcony which was a nice touch.

Great location near downtown Santa Barbara. Large room was sparse but clean. Great top floor balcony area. Could use mini fridge/microwave combo in room - there's definitely space made for one. The hotel is obviously undergoing upgrades currently with a snack shop being added in the lobby area which will be very convenient. Great value for the price!

The staff was very accomodating, especially helpful during a very hectic 4th of July Weekend and very supportive with check-in and check-out. The room was very clean, spacious, and exactly as described in the Orbitz blurb.

This is the first time I stay at The Orange Tree Inn and really enjoyed it. My 4 friends and I stayed at the 2 bedroom suite (main bedroom had 2 queen beds and the adjacent had 1 queen bed) with the private balcony and got a real good price for the 4th of July weekend. The room had free wi-fi, a mini fridge and a sink. Big windows which are nice and two TVs. The front office staff is very nice and the crew does a very good job. I got my room three hours early because they were done cleaning it quickly and cleanly. My friend left his camera charger in the room after we checked out. When we returned, we had no problem finding it as the front desk had the item in their lost and found. Being on the main avenue (State St.) of Santa Barbara, eventhough it is quite far from the beach, is very convinient. About 3-4 blocks from the hotel is the shuttle stop that takes you all along the street to the beach for 25 cents, so we didn't really walked all that much. The location is very quiet and not much noise can be heard through the window and walls. The Inn has a pool, but with the beach so close, I didn't really bother getting in. The two problems I had was that I didn't know how the room was going to look like because neither Orbitz or the Orange Tree Inn's website have pictures. So when I read that it was a two bedroom suite, I thought there was going to be a small living room with the bedrooms. However when we walked in the suite, it was essentially a regular room with 2 queen beds and then a door that lead to another smaller room with one bed. I didn't really care, but a picture would have been nice to see what we are getting. The other problem I have is that the bathroom door is inside this smaller bedroom. So whoever sleeps in that room cannot lock their door because if those sleeping in the other beds need to go to the bathroom in the middle of night, they won't be able too if the door is locked. It just prevents privacy and I thnk it would be more practical to have th

Went to the 4th Of July Parade. Shower had a curtain that did not stay put so water went everywhere. Rug was dirty and the rooms stinked! We did not ask for a handicap room. There was no closet to hang anything up. We had to wait for our room till 4:30. Room was not cleaned before this!

This is an ordinary motel, with nothing to remember by, far overpriced - we paid $120. If this was a $40 motel, then everything would have been as expected... But, for $120, we did not expect to have a leaky fauset, a tiny shower that can barely fit a larger person, and sheets that weren't spotless. Yes, they were washed but, none took the time to check if all the stains were gone... At the end of the day, if there is another hotel for the same price - take your chances there.

this hotel is a little out of date but other than that its a good deal for the money and its located on state street so your close to all the cool places to go and see.

Great hotel for the location and price. If your going to enjoy Santa Barbara this hotel is the best. But the only thing is be back early because parking is first come first serve. But had no problems.

I had been looking for a place to stay for months to prepare for my daughters graduation from UCSB with no luck for less than $300. I decided on bringing my friends motor home and staying over night in the parking lot of the school (with permission). There were concerns with the motor home before we left home, and it would have cost $ for gas. The night before I left, I went on panic mode to find a motel. I went on line and found one for $300 (which I was willing to pay just to have a place to stay because it should have been impossible with graduation weekend) then decided to call Orbitz. The gal on the phone found me one for $175 plus tax. I was thrilled and was so grateful to God & Orbitz for helping in my time of need. The motel was on quite part of State St. It was an older hotel with not many frills, but was clean. They offered coffee and sweet rolls in the morning. HOP is within walking distance if you wanted more later on. We would definitely stay there again. Worth the price we paid! Thanks ORBITZ!!!
