Excellent location, close to Montmartre, Pigalle. Rue de Martyrs (1 min from hotel)is very busy with good restaurants, fromageries, boulongeries etc. Hotel is clean but very modest and rooms are very small, however it is a good deal for the price. Would come back again because of the location.

Half a block from one of the best food shopping streets in Paris - Rue des Martyrs - and on a quiet street (one club, across the block, closes early and isn't rowdy). The bathrooms are new and spotless, people at the desk very helpful, breakfast excellent. It's a bargain hotel --nothing fancy -- but it's really a bargain. Two blocks to Metro St. Georges. Near Pigalle, but not at all part of that neighborhood. Walking distance to Sacre Coeur. Very nice.

Very nice hotel, central location. Small, clean rooms, comfortable beds. Try restaurant "Hotel Amour" right across - very good food!!! If you want to go to the Louvre, use the "Carousel Entrance" - no lines there!

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in July 2008. The area is quite dodgy, room very small and carpet looked so old and dirty that we didn't risk stepping on it with bare foot. But we didn't care too much as we spent only few hours in the room sleeping between all our journeys around this wonderful city of Paris. Also the shower and toilet were clean, receptionist always ready for you and with the friendly smile, so averall experience was just fine.

Directions (directly in front of Pigalle metro station) were misleading. We spent a long time looking for hotel! Lack of air-conditioning made it very difficult to sleep at night (we were on ground level, so did not want to leave window, which was large, open). Otherwise, hotel was comfortable.

I have seen quite many negative comments of this hotel, but after my mother and I have stayed there for one night, we were in fact quite satisfied with this hotel. Room was spacious, bathroom was clean and bright too. On the day we checked out, the credit card machine didn't work, but we were lucky to have the helpful staff who told us where we could withdraw some cash so that we can pay for the bill finally. We will come back if we have chance to visit Paris again.

Great location. Neighborhood had decent places to eat, get groceries, and buy wine. Quick access to Metro, too!

This hotel is fairly excellent: the proportion quality/price is one of the best found out in Paris; even if the breakfast is not included in the room's fare like nearly every hotel in Paris, the standard room I stood in was fairly comfortable, not noisy and absolutely clean (rare quality about hotels in Paris). Reception is kind and competent. The neighbourhood is well provided with markets, chemists' and a stone thrown away from the Metro S.George and Pigalle-Montmartre Nightlife; it is quiet but not desolate, with a bunch of pubs just round the corner. I enjoyed it so much and I strongly recommend it to everyone would like to have a good time and relax in Paris without spending a lot.

first of all I have to say that it has been a reasonable stay. The hotel it has been pleasant and confortable. The main problem is at the end the add some extra charges not reflexed in web. According to them is a tax for 'stay in Paris'. When I look for a final rates I expect exactly this. The problem is not the amount, is the fact. Please, take care about this is you are going to go there.

The location is very good. But there are some mistakes in the description on Venere: - "directly in front of the Pigalle underground station" - no way, we searched for it 20 minutes, you have to walk on several streets from this station - "recently-refurbished rooms, each tastefully furnished and equipped with adjustable air conditioning" - not refurbished, "not so clean" sensation, no air contitioning at all; only the bathroom was clean and new The light bulbs in the bathroom broke and it took more than a day to fix them. We paid with credit card but the same amount was already blocked in the bank account from the day we checked in, which we discovered later trying to use the card, so we had to send faxes to the bank etc. Is this Venere's mistake?

Tutto sommato siamo rimasti soddisfatti.

Had stayed here a couple of years ago. Renovations have certainly improved things and the price remains good value for Paris. Location is great. Feels like home for us now with lots of nice restaurants a short walk away. Only complaint would be dodgy reception on one of the TV channels but that was intermittent.

Nightmare in Paris!!! Please stay away from this hotel! It's nothing but HELL!! This hotel alleged to have each room equipped with air conditioning. No, what you got is electric fan unless you pay the extra to upgrade. The hotel is facing directly to a restaurant called "Amour", which never close before 2am in the morning during my stay and is extremly noisy even you close the window. The provied room was very small and stuffy. There was only one outlet found in the room and I couldn't charge my batteries unless I unpluged the fan. However, the worst part about this hotel is, the people. The employee at the front desk (looks like African-French)is the rudest person I ever met in my whole life. No greeting nor basic professional conduct, he didn't even allow me to finish one single sentence during checking in, always interrupted. When you complained the misleading information and the noise and asked for a better settlement, you got nothing but more frustration and grudge from him. Both my friends(another couple) and I had been treated this way and all of us are from asia. I doubted he must be an extrem racist if such thing didn't happen to other customers. I felt deeply insulted! I'd like to call on all the friends here to boycott such terrible hotel service!!

1.The room is good. very clean.Price is reasonable. Close to subway stations. Grocery shopping is easy with small grocery stores around and prices are cheap. Dinning is also convenient with several nice restaurants around. 2.But too much noises and lights at midnight. The noise from the street is so huge that we (2 rooms,4 people) were waken up at midnight even with windows shut. Moreover, the light from the street and from the near building is strong to lighten the room even when the curtain covered. We did not have good sleep there. 3. One of the reception personnel was not nice and lack of patience. I did not record his name(I should),he got brown skin, with beard, kinda bald. We think he showed discrimination to us. He was very polite to white people just before we talked to him. We were so disappointed with his attitude when we were confused about our reservations(two researvations need to be combined to one), and needed his advice and help. But other reception staffs were very nice.

It was a very very nice clean small Hotel. The staff were dynamic houmorously competent helpfull englich spiking persons. The romm was very nice ,we had all we needed for a relaxing and sleeping after sightseeing. The room was not even as small as I have read. The room had 2 windows so we had enough daylight. The first night it was quite laud from the bar in the street, so we closed the window and desided not to hear it - it worked.I the room there was a small with the name from the the person who cleaned the room, it gave a nice feeling of personal interest of wanting you to feel well. The staff was so nice and helpfull it could not have been better. The Hotel is only a short walk from Metro Pigalle or St.George so it is easy to go i more directions. And a walk to Sacre Ceure through the small streets is an adventure - and I never had the feel of danger in the night. I would go here again to the same Hotel
