My family spent a week during October. Hotel and staff are very nice. Our only issue was with the Valet staff stealing items from our car. Keep track of who is parking your car in case anything comes up missing.

It was a very nice stay -- the room was clean and comfortable, the room service food was excellent, and everyone was helpful.

Location was outstanding, vintage elegance and beautiful courtyard/garden. Room was a long ways from lobby and lacked electrical outlets. An elegant, vintage hotel with a beautiful lobby and location. Experienced professional staff who were eager to help. Great access to the Metro and good restaurants. Great for visitors and business people.

Our family of 4 (2 kids, ages 4 and 7) enjoyed one night at the hotel in April 2009. The amenities and customer service was top notch. We did a special "zoo" package rate which was $30 more than the lowest rated room for a weeknight. The package included free valet parking for length of stay (worth $30), goody bags for the kids, complimentary breakfast buffet for 2 adults and 2 kids (worth well over $50) plus an additional goodie bag for parents that included more things for the kids (disposable camera, stuffed bear, scavenger hunt at zoo info, etc. As a previous reviewer mentioned, soon after check in milk and cookies were delivered to the room--a fabulous over-the-top gesture that endeared the hotel to us forever! The kids were crazy about the beautiful pool (depth is no greater than 3.5 feet at its deepest, and the gym was well equipped and very clean. The pool is free but gym fees apply. The breakfast buffet was fantastic and included numerous hot dishes as well as fruit, bagels, lox, cheese and salamis, cereal, yogurt, bacon, sausage, etc. etc. etc. There were many business guests, but we felt welcome as a family, and anyone seeking a fine hotel at very fair prices will love this one. The metro stop is close by and it's a short ride to the major sights.

The huge car that AVIS rented us made for a comfy road trip into DC. The OMNI SHOREHAM HOTEL!!! There aren't enough words to describe the hospitality, the splendor, the convenience, or the comfort. There was X the bellman, who treated William like a prince, The doormen made us feel so important. X the concierge, who made sure we found everythng we needed. What a great view ofthe hotels gardens AND Rock Creek Park. I do wish we (I) had known to apply for tickets to the White House Easter Egg Roll though; especially since the trip was all about William reliving our trip to the inauguation of President Obama. I hope they get the chance to meet. We tried to do eveything, but didn't have enough time. The double-decker bus tours, thesghts, the history lessons relived, the dining, the people. Eat at Open City, the Woodley Cafe, America, B Smith's; and are there really that many people who need that many Starbuck's? The OMNI SHOREHAM HOTEL..in a word-The Bomb! Took the AMTRAK to Chicago from DC. Met Octavia in the dining car. The trip was friendly and comfy. 18 hours long though.

5 minutes after check-in to this beautiful room we were lounging in our super-comfy beds when room service came to bring complimentary milk and warm chocolate chip cookies for our kids. Tell me how I'm going to get them to stay in a different hotel chain now....?! Staff was great. Pool is phenomenal--good for splashing with the kids and long enough for an early morning workout too. Convenient to the zoo and the Metro station. I'll be staying here again--

This hotel is in a great location. There is a variety of good restaurants within a short walk, the metro is just across the street, the National Zoo is close at hand, and Rock Creek Park is right out the back door. We ate at Robert's Restaurant for the Friday night barbecue and enjoyed the meal, pleasant temperature, and the view from the terrace. However, the manager was very rude to my daughter. No one was available to seat her when she arrived so she went out to the terrace to inquire what the process was for seating. The manager was very curt and told her there was no way he could remember everyone's reservation...she needed to check in at the front of the restaurant. She said he was evidently stressed because a waiter was cleaning up some broken glass, but a manager should be able to handle stress without being rude to guests. Our room was very comfortable--nice size with two double beds. We appreciated the free Internet service, morning beverages, and newspaper included in the "select guest" services. Our granddaughters enjoyed the goody bags given to them at check-in--especially the flashlights. And the swimming pool full of kids was a hit with the 7 year old. However, housecleaning left the throw pillows from the bed on the floor at least three days out of our 6 day stay. They placed the morning beverage tray on the floor in the hall where it was left all day every day. One day it was not removed from the room at all and our used water glasses and bathroom counters were obviously not cleaned. Although a nightly turn-down is supposed to be part of the"select guest" services, that was done only once our entire stay. Overall though, we enjoyed our stay at the Omni Shoreham.

Our family goes to DC every year for the National Book Festival. We have stayed in several places near the Mall, Dupont Circle, Woodley Park. This is by far our favorite in this price range. Everyone is very friendly and it is extremely convenient to a wide variety of dining options as well as the Metro. There is a lot of history at the hotel as well, so that makes it kind of neat for my eight year old daughter. This has become our DC hotel of choice.

The Hotel was beautiful and the employees were very polite. I just expected to get a room that was shown. Instead you are sent down some stairs and threw a long hallway before you get to the room that you booked through Orbitz. The rooms are okay, nothing special. You end up paying more for the name and location then for the actual room. Besides that everything else was very beautiful in the hotel. You still are entitled to all the accomadations that the hotel offer, so if you are just looking for a place to crash because you have a full scheduale, this is a great place.

I have never before stayed in a hotel that charged * a day to park in the hotel parking. Nor have I been charged * to use the fitness facilities. Finally whats up with the * WiFi usage charge! You can take this hotel and shove it. I have stayed in a large array of hotels, from the small inns all the way to the Four Seasons, and never before have I been charged so many additional fees. Beware!!!!!

My husband and I recently took our 8 year old granddaughter to DC to see the sights, and we were lucky enough to choose the Omni Shoreham. Neither of us had ever been to DC before. This hotel is great - from its elegant lobby to the spacious rooms. It is an older hotel that has been maintained beautifully. The pool and pool area were wonderful! We highly recommend this hotel. It is in a nice part of DC with buses and the open-top tour bus stop at the corner. In addition, the Metro station is less than a block away. Very convenient. The most impressive part about this hotel is the service. All you had to do is ask and it was done. Out of a possible 10, it gets a 10!
