5 minutes after check-in to this beautiful room we were lounging in our super-comfy beds when room service came to bring complimentary milk and warm chocolate chip cookies for our kids. Tell me how I'm going to get them to stay in a different hotel chain now....?! Staff was great. Pool is phenomenal--good for splashing with the kids and long enough for an early morning workout too. Convenient to the zoo and the Metro station. I'll be staying here again--

I have never before stayed in a hotel that charged * a day to park in the hotel parking. Nor have I been charged * to use the fitness facilities. Finally whats up with the * WiFi usage charge! You can take this hotel and shove it. I have stayed in a large array of hotels, from the small inns all the way to the Four Seasons, and never before have I been charged so many additional fees. Beware!!!!!

The check-in process was a little annoying. The room was very nice and clean. We went for the breakfast buffet one morning and it was excellent. The restaurant staff, cleaning staff and baggage check staff were friendly and helpful. But the concierge was rude and acted like we were annoying him when we asked questions about local activities and transportation options. I'm sorry, I thought that was your job!

My husband and I recently took our 8 year old granddaughter to DC to see the sights, and we were lucky enough to choose the Omni Shoreham. Neither of us had ever been to DC before. This hotel is great - from its elegant lobby to the spacious rooms. It is an older hotel that has been maintained beautifully. The pool and pool area were wonderful! We highly recommend this hotel. It is in a nice part of DC with buses and the open-top tour bus stop at the corner. In addition, the Metro station is less than a block away. Very convenient. The most impressive part about this hotel is the service. All you had to do is ask and it was done. Out of a possible 10, it gets a 10!

I attend a credit union conventions 10 years ago, it was pleasant then and it was one now. I loved the hotel. We had two rooms and items were left behind in both rooms. The honesty of housekeeper was admirable. We were able to pick up the first item before we left town and the other items were shipped to by FedEx, which arrived a few days to the office.

Great hotel. Very beautiful, historic, and spacious. While it is great - it is off the beaten path of DC. You are semi-secluded and will be required to take a cab or subway to everything you are going to want to do. For a few dollars more - it would be well worth your while to stay closer to the action so you can walk.

The Shoreham provides a convenient in town location but since it's in the park it feels more like a resort. The lobby and Robert's Restaurant are among the most elegant in any hotel. Once inside you genuinely feel as though you have arrived!

It is a beautiful, grand facility with lots of Washington DC history. It has great outdoor pool for kids. Close to two great neighborhoods and also within walking distance of subway.

Beautiful hotel. Staff was not too friendly, and had to call twice over a 4 hour period just to get toothbrush for elderly mother. Employee came to door to open our lockbox, and we told him that we did not call. He doubted our word and asked ‘are you sure?’ I assured him that we did not call. Front desk was curt. Concierge was not helpful or friendly. Did not smile once or offer more help than asked. This hotel may not need to try harder, but they won't get any more business from us.

I enjoyed my stay, the lobby and grounds were beautiful but when I checked in my room and saw the view I asked one of the staff persons to see if there were any other rooms available on a higher floor because I did not want to look at the air conditioning unit all weekend. Without even making an attempt to look up a room on the computer said "there are no other King rooms available". I was a little disappointed because it was my man's birthday weekend and I wanted it to be special. And we were placed by the service elevator for room service, so that also was unpleasant to look at every time we came in and out.

Very large old hotel that is in excellent condition with a beautiful courtyard and lobby. Room was much larger than a typical luxury hotel room and larger than a suite in most hotels.

The Omni Shoreham hotel is a fantastic place to stay. The staff are courteous and professional. The rooms are clean and cheerful. The hotel is conveniently located 1/2 block a way from the Metro. The hotel restaurant serves fresh organic food options and if one tires of the hotel restaurant there are numerous inexpensive ethnic food options to choose from nearby. I would absolutely love to stay in this hotel again when I return to D.C. The hotel does have a conference or business environment, so if you are looking for trend or a lively atmosphere you should probably go elsewhere. That said, I really loved the peace and quiet. I would not say this is a particularly family friendly hotel.
