The hotel was wonderful, and the staff was exceptional. They were very helpful and polite. The only real issues we had were that housekeeping came by at 9:00am, 9:30am, and 10:00am before I asked them for a "Privacy Please" sign that our room was lacking. Also, the Epicenter next door can make for a very loud environment. I'm very glad that I read the reviews prior to going and asked for a quiet room. The hotel also will provide free "sleep kits" if you ask for them. Other than that, we had a great experience. There is a lovely little bar in the hotel with a bartender that made great drinks. Not the usual weak drinks you get in a hotel restaurant. The location cannot be beat except for the proximity to the Epicenter, which some people will love and some will hate. The nice thing is that it became quiet after 10pm.

Very friendly staff. Pool was cold, not heated as told. Hallways were hot and a large spiderweb was in the elevator. This was a very nice, easy located, quite hotel.

We had only one complaint. We were in Charlotte for a conference. Our first day was Friday and we saw so many great places to have coffee or purchase lunch and shop. On Saturday and Sunday (the only 2 other days we were there) everything was closed. The hotel was great - - service was excellent.

Our first introduction to this hotel is that there was NO shuttle from/to airport. Next, there was a charge to park the car and the garage was poorly marked. Our first desk person told us a kind bedroom was not available, only two doubles. (claims it was only a request as we booked online) I went to the car, to get my husband and when we returned, another person waited on us and was able to get a king room. I guess it depends on who waits on you as this was less than 5 minutes later. There is a supposed security system where you must use your room key to be able to select a floor to get to the rooms. I was not checked in yet and coming from the car lobby floor. I went immediatly to the 12th floor, where the car picked up passengers (so much for safety)We found the room small, but clean. The pool ridiculousy small without ample seating. No jacuzzi. The gym had inadequate equipment for a hotel that size and star rating. It was too warm in there, and you could not adjust the a/c. NO water available either. I have never been in a gym that does not offer water. Cheap machines too...weird elyptical-awkward position.Room service was OK. Watch for the 19% fee and delivery charge on top of the cost. The beds were comfy, although the bedspread, which was white should have been bright white, not greyish white. Overall, at most I would give is 3 stars.Several Hotel guests tell us they paid 80 as they were with a wedding party. Less than half what we paid.

My husband and I went to see a showing of the Phantom of the Opera at the Blumenthal Performing Arts Center. The location was fantastic, particulary the fact that the hotel and arts center were connected by a glass walkway. The only thing that would have made the stay better would have been a continental breakfast or complimentary bottles of water. For the price and the feel of the hotel, I thought they would provide us with some little treat to make it that much more special. Also, parking was extra. I thought for the price the room was fantastic, very upscale with a beautiful view.

We have always had good experiences at the Charlotte Omni. This time, not so much. At check-in I used a Visa check card, which I have used all over the world as a credit card. Here they charged me $250 security deposit just to get a key to the mini-bar. And when we got to the room, I couldn't find a phone book to scope out local restaurants. When I called the front desk, they informed me that there were no phone books in the entire hotel because they are "going green." This is just ridiculous. There are still Bibles in the rooms, which might be of some comfort to a few people but not much use to out-of-town travellers in search of local goods and services!

The shower would not hold a constant temperature. It fluctuated from cold to scalding hot. The climate control until made too much noise. Room was clean and tastefully appointed. Nice bed.

Pet-friendly, great central location, Starbucks and shops downstairs. Nothing. Great hotel. I've stayed there before, but first time with a pet. Very courteous staff. Everything is pristine.

I tried to ask the maid a question, but she didn't speak English. I am a guest services member and was given the normal coupon for a free morning beverage. The front desk employee said that someone would bring it to my room. That never happened!

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Omni on a recent visit to Charlotte (just to check it out - very nice city). The first night, there was a band playing outside very loudly *late* into the night. The next morning, my boyfriend was at the front desk asking if that sort of thing happened all the time. It did. The front desk staff immediately offered to move us to the other side of the hotel, which they did, to an equally nice room which was much more quiet. Kudos to the staff for being so understanding and willing to do whatever it took to make our stay more enjoyable. And the lobby bar was lots of fun, too! We also were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. We parked our car when we got there and did not get back in it until it was time to leave. Charlotte is very clean and has some super pubs (that's the Scots-Irish for you!). I would recommend a trip there to anyone.

Great location. A little old. Needs an upgrade. Excellent place to stay based on the price we paid. Great staff. Fantastic location for enjoying downtown. Rooms are a little old. I would not be happy if I paid full price and was not on an expense account. Did not try any of the hotel restaurants or food. Lots of shopping on first floor but everything was closed on Sunday.

The rooms were nice and clean except the bathroom had some waters stains from the leaking shower head on which I notified the front desk and no one ever came to fix it. Also the staff acted as if they could not be bothered and one staff member asked me to get off an elevator and wait for the next one because she had to bring up a lot of luggage, heaven forbid she wait.

Huge room with great nights rest. The bed was amazing. Great location being in downtown Charlotte. There are plenty of shops, restauraunts and entertainment in walking distance. Only negative-on the second floor could hear some street noise.

Stayed at this hotel on a last-minute trip downtown to visit friends. Got a great rate. Location was great, rooms were very clean, bed was fantastic! Best hotel bed we ever slept in. Temperature of water in shower fluctuated quite a bit, and parking was expensive. Parking deck was confusing in terms of accessing the hotel. Overall a nice stay, esp. for a last-minute decision.

We were a late arrival driving up from Pensacola with a dinner stop at the Atlanta Underground. We were exhausted when we got to the Omni smack in the center of downtown. The doorman directed us to self parking under the hotel. Check in was a snap, and we were in the room in a minute. The room was very spacious, with a killer view of downtown and the city center. The beds were very comfortable. Next time in Charlotte, we will not even consider another hotel.

Check in clerk was very personable. Not close enough to my favorite club. Very nice and well appointed. Direct access to Bank of America and mall is a plus. Rooms are spacious and include mini-bar. Self parking is quite a hike to the lobby and rooms.

I've stayed at the Omni Charlotte several times due to the location. The corner of Trade and Tryon is truly the center of the city. I've stayed in the junior suites, but this trip I opted for the corner suite. There must be 80 feet of windows! The views are spectacular, the only one better is the Westin Peachtree in Atlanta.
