The beach was perfect if you wanted to sit and read and listen to the surf all day, but not conducive to swimming during my stay. The waves were high and the red flags were out the entire week. The staff were very courteous and helpful, especially to my wife who does not speak Spanish. Be careful to ensure that you purchase the "all-inclusive" package. We thought that we had but when we arrived we found out that it was not so. This added a few hundred dollars to the trip, but also some added benefits as we left the hotel to explore the restaurants of Cancun. This way I found two of the best restaurants that I have ever eaten at.

The staff was amazing. The Omni was a great hotel, the staff was the best I've ever experienced. They were so helpful and were the nicest people I've ever met. Pool was great, food was great and bus was right in front of hotel.

My husband and I love the Omni!! The staff is very friendly, courteous and accomodating. I am really surprised to hear that others have negative things to say about the staff. The pools are great and we LOVE the swim-up bars, especially the jacuzzi bar overlooking the beach. It really is beautiful. We go here every year and wouldn't change a thing except maybe add more vegetarian options with the food (just for the sake of variety b/c I am a vegetarian but my husband isn't and says all the meat items are good). Otherwise, we like the food. The drinks are awesome! Also, the spa services are amazing. I love getting massages while I am there. I would definitely recomend the Omni to others.

Staff was the best ever. Wouldn't let pizza guy on grounds. Excellent hotel would definitely stay there again, the staff went out of their way to help you, I would go back just to see them. Not a good beach for swimming. Too bad for that.

My stay at the Omni Hotel was great. The Staff was so pleasant and always greeted you with a smile. The operators on the other hand were somewhat brain dead because when asked to transfer my call to a certain place they failed and would transfer you to the wrong ext and charged you the connecting fee. Besides that, the best place to visit while in Cancun is Xcaret. They have so many activities. We snorkeled through the mini caves, walked through the ruins, cemetery, and different animal exhibits. Its an experience of a lifetime. Partying in Cancun is inevitable. Once you step off the local bus your swamped by club recruiters. THESE people are desperate for you to step inside their club so give them a hassle! My boyfriend and I got in for 150 pesos open bar all night long! Great experience!!!

For this time of year and all the canceleations in Cancun, Mexico the hotel price was high for a 6 Day stay in a Villa. There was multiple days the phone did not work as well as the internet service. Also the internet service was not free and the cost was high. The hotel rooms was very nice and pleasent. The Villa's offer a lot of space but I did not get to truly experience the complete serenity of the hotel because of so many day excursions.

The personnel was friendly. Nothing kid friendly about the hotel. The resort is old and a little deteriorated, excellent location, but has nothing whatsoever in terms of entertainment for younger children (ages 5 to 12).

When we first got to the hotel around 1pm, we had to wait until 3pm to check-in. Then the hotel staff tried to sell us different tour packages and the frustrating part was that they would only stop after we said "no" about 10 times. The food at the hotel was okay, but nothing special. I would venture to the city to get better, cheaper food. The pool, though, was well-maintained.

Second time staying at the Onmi. Would go back. Was pretty quiet because of all of the scares, but so were all of the other resorts. The only bad thing was the room was 'damp' all of the time. They said it was from having the balcony door open with the Air on, but even when I limited it to walking in and out, it was still damp. The staff was always friendly and eager to help. There was one time that I sat at the pool and wanted something to eat and drink. Sat there for about 30 min and then walked up and started looking at the menu before someone helped me. I know they weren't that busy (maybe 10 guests around the pool) so I am not sure why the delay. Still, would go back again.

My family and I stayed at the Omni in August 2007. We were immediately disappointed with what the hotel had to offer for the money we paid. We paid for the all-inclusive resort to avoid having to worry about anything while relaxing after a busy year. There were only two restuarants to eat at, which had the same menus every time we ate. The food was great, but I would expect greater variety for an all-inclusive package. You can only eat the same thing so many times, before it gets old and boring. Top of the line liquors were not included (Malibu, Absolut, Corona), and the Da Vinci Italian restuarant was not included. The smell of the hotel was DISGUSTING...it smelled like mold and dirty water. The septic drains in both of our rooms were leaking sewage smell into our rooms and the hallway. My parents had to attend a timeshare presentation and were told the problem would be fixed only if they signed for the timeshare. Here's a tip for timeshare salespeople...if you want someone to pay you money and sign, you should treat them better, not worse than others. The beach was rocky and filled with slimey green seaweed. We had to walk about 15 minutes down the beach to find a spot to swim. The nice part of this hotel was the pools and the workers were SO NICE. I would not recommend this hotel. There are so many nicer hotels on the hotel strip in Cancun that have more to offer.

We were upgraded to a "Villa" because our adjoining rooms were not available. Hotel staff was generously helpful and friendly. There were daily activities for the kids and nightly themes at the hotel restaurant (tex-mex, italian, mexican food night) all were great! Only negative was the lack of beach. But after visiting other hotels, it seems to be a common thing for the beach areas, not much of beach and ocean water to enjoy. Otherwise we will definitely go back over and over to the Omni! We made friends with the staff and are grateful for all their service!

Staff was friendly. Pool was not heated & food was ok. The hotel was average. The food was just okay. The pool was pretty but not heated. The staff was very friendly. Kids seemed to have a lot of fun at this hotel.

When I checked it at the Cancun Omni I immediately encountered a problem with the reservation. The hotel staff were incompetent and unaccommodating. They simply just would not listen or do anything. We ended up waiting for over three hours for our room to be ready. The overall hotel experience was seriously lacking and for their rates we should have stayed at the Marriott next door, where the service has always been reliable. I recommend not staying here. There are so many other hotels to choose from in the Hotel Zone in Cancun so don't give yourself a headache by staying here. It ruined my trip every time I set foot in that lobby.

This is my second time to Cancun. Omni was a little disappointing compared to my stay last year in Gran Melia Cancun (for about the same price!). Lobby was small. There were many pools but the jacuzzi is not warm enough. Rooms were of decent size, but don't expect grand interior design. Cleanliness was mediocre, and the toilet flooded once. I guess my opinion is based on comparison because Gran Melia has a magnificent rainforest-like lobby and much better interior design and cleanliness. I regret not going back :( However, Cancun is awesome! I will definitely be back soon! This time I visited Xel-ha, Xcarat and swam with dolphins on Isla Mujeres. Experience of a lifetime!
