Outstanding service and a hotel staff willing to accommodate our needs. Good location and plenty of dining close by. Rooms are not large but a very nice place to stay. Our rooms were upgraded at no cost after we decided we wanted a view of the beach.

View of beach. Need to tune grand piano in lobby (I am the only player.....) Fabulous views and free excellent breakfast. For lunch or dinner, great restaurants just around corner. Felt safe. My room was all new, in an older art deco hotel. Relaxing, with very friendly staff.

We chose this hotel after finding it on this website and reading about it in a reputable and popular travel guide. Unfortunately our experience did not match what was described in the guide. We stayed in a standard room and our room was tidy but not sanitary or clean - stained sheets, mildew in the bathroom, previous guest's hair in the shower, etc. Even though it is true, as the travel guide states, that the hotel was recently renovated, the construction on the shower was extremely shoddy. Also noise seemed to travel between rooms freely. Breakfast was barely edible but as a plus it was included in the room. Other advantages included proximity to the beach and metro. Staff was helpful and friendly. All in all if you can get past the uncleanliness of the room you will be fine. Personally I would not stay there again.

The place is not all it's cracked up to be--needs better cleaning in bathroom. Copacabana isn't the nicest area. You have to want to spend more time at the beach than at the hotel. Surrounding area is dirty with people sleeping in the streets, prostitutes right on Atlantic Avenue. Choose Ipanema or Leblanc instead.

The hotel in is front of the beach in Copacabana. The hotel is old but is good location, the room not the best, but for the money I pay is ok, but the lobby needs new makeup.

The oceanfront rooms have been remodeled and are great! I booked the standard room and was given an oceanfront for the same price..

This hotel offered great value and location was fantastic. Copacaban Beach is truly 'the princess of the sea'. The staff were very friendly and helpful in getting us oriented on our first visit to Rio. We made requests and these received immediate attention in spite of the hotel being busy.

The location is very good indeed. My room is in bad shape or needed remodeling This hotel is located in the middle of Copacabana beach of Rio de Janeiro. Location is very good but hotel stuffs are not English friendly. Hope staffs of this hotel can communicated with us in better manners. Rooms (I traveled there with my friends) needed to be remodel and upgrade. Staff of this hotel needed to be trained to better communicate with English speaking clients.

The hotel location is great. The staff is helpful, courteous and friendly. While the menu selection in the restaraunt is limited, the food is excellent.

This is a pleasant hotel with a friendly and very helpful staff. Our room faced the beach so was a little noisy but a great view. Breakfast was included as was a transfer to the airport. They were helpful in arranging tours too. There are restaurants and cafe's nearby, as well as banks wih ATM's just down the street. Its a good location in Copacabana, friendly and unpretentious.

The staffs at this hotel are the best specialy the young lady, she is very porfesional & is a lovely lady, recomend her for a big raise!! she deserves it, the location is perfect facing water, but the rooms are very noisy (problem sleeping), the windows do not close properly, the other services of this hotel are average. ,

The Olinda Othon was a very pleasant exprrience all around. Located right at the center of Copacabana Beach and walking distance from Ipanema, Leme, and Leblon. Buffet breakfast and transport to the airport were included. Rooms and services were as expected in a 4 star hotel. No pool or gym but they are not a priority for me.

This hotel has the look and feel of a property that costs much more. Beautiful architecture complements the spacious rooms and contemporary decor. The room and common areas seemed brand new, and all of the appointments were of quality. Maybe it was very recently remodeled, but regardless it had an upscale feel and it was very clean. The included breakfast was average to slightly above, but the selection was much better than expected. The only negatives were the lack of in-room useable internet... not even for a fee... and some of the front desk staff were, at times, less accommodating than they could have been. Overall though, I would say this hotel is an excellent value for the money.
