Will come back soonThe hotel is a very beautiful building located just 5 minuets from oxford city centre. The room, service and food was excellent. i will definately come back later in the year. My only complaint would be that breakfast should be included in the price of the room.

a sleepless night ........The Old Parsonage on the Saturday night we visited was both a delight and a disaster. The building and courtyard are really quite lovely. The staff excelled themselves in understated charm and helpfullness. The problem however was that the hotel was full in every sense. The rooms and thereby number of guests are crammed into far too small a space. The beautiful reception and bar area were simply bursting at the seams with slightly nasty reproduction chairs and tables (but fine paintings). We could not sit properly for a pre dinner drink because the tables were reserved for diners. There was no where else to go. Our room was so snug that two people could not pass by manoeuvering around the bed. The real problem arose however when we tried to get some sleep. The very noisy main road outside meant we could not open our window. The overheated hotel then made for a stifling night. This was nothing however compared to the titanic struggle to block out the noise and commotion from the other guests that continued beyond 3am. There was no escaping the wedding party rampaging around upstairs. Breakfast the following morning was then simply not worth the wait in the queue. The staff were struggling at 9am on a Sunday to take orders from the guests. Only after some 30 minutes and 3 reminders did we manage to get an order in for what was an expensive and only mediocre breakfast.I would not hesitate returning to a quiet room at the back of the hotel perhaps on a mid week night when bookings were down and I was charged considerably less than the Â£200 odd the bed and breakfast cost at the weekend. I would not hesitate however to book elsewhere on a Saturday night if I wanted to enjoy my evening and get some sleep at the end of it.

Lovely cozy hotel with a great restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the atmosfere was very good overall. Would love to come back, even only for dinner as the food was great!

Excellent hotel, lovely atmosphere, food and rooms. The few added luxuries are a real differentiator. As a business traveller its great to stay somewhere where everything just works - not as common in other hotels as you would hope!

The hotel was easy to find, and very near the centre, a truly delightful hotel. My only criticism was that I thoought breakfast should have been included in the price, having said that I would love to stay there again or perhaps try the sister hotel.

We had a fabulous weekend. The staff were excellent. They were very attentive, understanding and helpful. They made sure our ever need was covered and yet they weren't obtrusive in any way. The meal in the restaurant was excellent too - compliments to the chef!Our only criticism was that the rooms were very small for the price we paid (Â£160 per night - room only). The thing you really pay for is the location as it is a stone's throw from the town. However, there is nothing they can do about the size of the rooms as they have limited space around them (church one side, university building the other). Thanks for a great time.

I really enjoyed our stay here. It is expensive, even through laterooms, but worth it for a special occasion. I liked the hotel's attention to detail; shortbread, fresh coffee and bathrobes in the room, Molton Brown in the bathroom and a great bar with reasonably priced drinks (which stays open all night!). I thought the staff were delightful.

This is a small luxury hotel but there are some signs of slippage - rather small food portions, no chocolates with coffee (as served on a previous visit), rather indifferent and overstretched service, and disappointingly the dining room has been redecorated in an inappropriate style. So much is really good about this hotel - but more attention to detail, especially service, is now needed to justify its reputation.

Getting in and out of the bathtub to take a shower was like jumping hurdles and protection glass does not let water not spilling over on the floor making it slippery . Ironically, Parsonage is an old hotel but not suitable for elderly people.
