an enjoyable stayWe found the hotel to be in an excellent location and the free parking on site right in the middle of Oxford was a big plusHowever, we feel that £200 a night was alot to pay for the type of room we stayed in. The room was lovely and clean but nothing special for the price and I feel that breakfast should definitely be included when paying £200 a night. We experienced alot of noise at night as we were staying in a room at the front of the hotel and the street outside is very busy and we had to open the windows due to it being so warmI would recommend an evening meal in Quod - the hotel restaurant as the food was delicious

Perfect position, bit priceyExcellent position but expensive hotel. Great restaurant and terrace area. Did not expect to have to add service charge to everything - even final hotel bill, so take care as you are asked to add service onto each bill and then onto the total when you leave, so you pay service on your service charge!

One night in OxfordWe were looking for a hotel in the centre of Oxford and now I know the locations of the other Hotels in this price range, I can say this is the best for location. The free parking is also good as parking places in the centre are very hard to come by. The room we were given was lovely, over looking the high street from two very large windows. Some may find it quite noisy but it didn't bother us much. The bed was large and very cosy and the bathroom was very modern and clean. We got a deal on the price and I must say their normal standard price would be way above our means. Didn't eat there but restaurant downstairs looked very stylish. Must say the prices in the bar a bit steep! All in all, if I went to Oxford again, The Old Bank would me my first choice but only if I could get another deal!

The service here is very good.We were able to leave our car in the free hotel park as soon as we arrived early in Oxford and then go shopping until we received a call to say our room was ready - at about 11.00 am . A very big plus. The hotel is wonderfully positioned, with the colleges, shops and the meadows behind Merton within easy walking distance. We asked for and got a very quiet room at the back. We were not disturbed at all. This was important because we overheard another guest complaining about her noisy room.Only two faults: the bed was too bouncy and my wife didn't sleep very well as our every movement risked waking the other up.Secondly, the bath was tiny - no question of lying in it.We would happily come again.

Hotel was perfect, and the rooms were fully kitted out with everything you needed

This hotel is situated in the very heart of Oxford, and the location is fab! It is a really nice boutique hotel, although I was disappointed by the size of my room (very small - unlike the airy rooms shown in their brochure and on their website!) and the bath was TINY! There was some rather odd modern art around the hotel, and the picture in our room was absolutely vile! But these are just minor points, and we enjoyed our stay and the staff were really helpful. The restaurant, Quods, was also fantastic!A great base from which to explore Oxford.

A great hotel and a great experience, well worth the money at the lateroom rate we got if you're up for a treat.

The so called \"luxury sandwiches \"on room service were very expensive and i failed to understand the luxury in crab and mayo sandwich of which there was more mayo than crab, perhaps it was the handful of rocket or crisps that adorned the plate. The room was small and on the first floor and very noisy from road noise outside. The service at breakfast the next morning was abismally slow and there were only a handful of diners and the cooked breakfast was very greasy.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Old Bank Hotel. My negative points would be, I felt the rooms were rather small, and there were no shower caps in the bathroom. We live very close to Oxford and the reason for staying over in a hotel was to attend my son's school leavers ball, this is my reason for not staying at the Old Bank again.

Great staff; quality room; great restaurant. Would highly recommend to anyone- especially enjoyed location in addition to the facilities themselves.

Pleasant little boutique hotel in the centre of Oxford, and very convenient with its own parking area - and unlike most other hotels in the area, parking was included in the room rate. Cosy and comfortable with tasteful decor. The only downside was we were given a room directly above the restaurant and the room had a distinct smell of fried breakfast. Still, a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend.

Very pricey for the size of room but in a central location in Oxford so was to be expected. Upgraded to a superior room but not worth it. There was a loud buzzing notice that went on every 5 minutes or so. Don't stay in room 15! Good service though and very handy to have the car parking.

I had several problems with this hotel. The guest coffee machine in the library was unfathomable - several staff tried to get it to work but failed. I asked for coffee to come from the kitchen as I was having a business meeting with a colleague and was then charged for it. The scalding temperature of the shower could not be regulated, there was hot water coming out of the cold water time irrespective of how long it was allowed to run for. There were no milk sachets on the tea tray but a note to say if we wanted fresh milk to ring for it. When I tried to do this the telephone just rang out. I eventually left the hotel much earlier than planned simply in order to get a cup of tea!

2 complaints, room was very hot & next to main road so very noisey when when window opened to cool room down

The restaurant is a very nice brasserie type affair - helped by the fact of two complimentary glasses of prosecco for residents of the hotel. The rooms are decorated in a modern yet comfortable style and kitted out to a very high standard including flat screen tvs, excellent bedlinen. I will certainly stay here again.

Restaurant in Hotel was brilliant with amazing service and the Roast Beef was sublime. We were then disappointed to go to our tiny room with standard double bed which was far too soft. The room was overly warm and the air conditioning noisy and ineffectual. Definately not worth the money.

The rooms of The Old Bank are comfortable but quite small. If you pick a front facing one, then the view is terrific but you will be facing the road and so it will be noisy enough to make ear plugs advisable. Back rooms are, obviously, quieter but have no view of the colleges. The Quod restaurant is next door and affiliated to the hotel; the food is o.k. - no better, no worse and the service is condescending. I would recommend trying elsewhere. The Old Bank has a car park for residents; as parking in the centre of Oxford is invariably a nightmare, this is a plus. I have stayed at this hotel three times now [annoyingly, only once has the residents' lounge/bar been open, other times it has been closed for business conferences] and have done so because of its excellent location and car park. The Hotel does feel impersonal but, as know the city very well, I have had no need to ask for help or advice.
