Great room!Very homely place. Great customer service from night porter and breakfast staff. Good fried breakfast in morning and room was really clean. However, no Wi-Fi signal upstairs, curtains too think to block out sunlight in morning, no bath towels in my room! Overall a really nice stay and lovely bathroom.

June 2009This is an inexpensive hotel very close to the city centre. The hotel was clean and the staff very friendly. I would say it is a number of old Victorian or Edwardian homes converted to a Hotel so you will need to climb some stairs if your room is on the top floor. The room was adequate and the bed comfortable, it also had free view TV so lots of choice there. The full English breakfast was nicely cooked and had a choice of cereals & juice available. The parking is very limited but a large pay & display car park about 5 min walk away. I stayed 4 nights and was happy with the value for money.

Staying in ExeterOke Lodge had inadequate parking spaces for the number of rooms, and I found the need to accomodate two cars in a space suitable for one, compromised my ability as an arthritis sufferer to get in and out of my car easily.My room was pleasant, but up four flights of stairs with no obvious instructions as to what to do or where to go in the event of a fire.The staff were helpful and courteous and went out of their way to provide breakfast for me earlier than their normal time.

OK Budget accommodationStaff were helpful and the room was clean but basic. The hotel walls are thin which might disturb light sleepers. No problem parking there over the bank holiday weekend and it's a short walk into town. This was one of the cheapest options we could find to stay in Exeter so just don't expect too much.

Uncomfortable roomThe mattress in this room was so soft we found it impossible to sleep. The walls were so thin we could hear every word from our neighbours.

The very OK Oke Hotel.I found the staff very helpful and knowledgeable of the area, the room was pleasantly comfortable, clean and well appointed, my only complaint would be the reception of the TV was very poor and the picture kept breaking up and losing the sound, as I was onlythere for two nights it did not worry me too much, the breakfast was very good and to a pleasing standard.

Superb accomadation. Three of us stayed one night in a triple room. Very clean and quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Lovely breakfast.Highly recommended.

It appeared I had only been booked for 1 night instead of the 2 nights.The paperwork showed a 2 night booking,but it was resolved.The hotel will benefit from digital tv when the switchover comes to the area next year(hopefully)I was not aware that I could use the broadband signal from the hotel.Other than the above,it was very comfortable and quiet.

This hotel is great value for money. The staff are excellent in their attitude to customer care, and cannot do enough to help. Highly recommend it.

Hotel was basic, as expected. Couldn't get the inter-room phones to work and reception had no idea about it. The lock was a little dodgy on our door, I wouldn't have left anything valuable in the room. We went to ask about additional parking as all the spaces were used and there was no-one on reception. The room was clean though and the bathroom, though small was modern and clean. Our twin room was small but we slept OK and no real major complaints as a budget hotel.

The food was cheap horrible meat for breakfast, the cheapest sausages and bacon that they could find. The staff were possibly the most glum I have ever seen and we have been around the world. The waitresses got orders mixed up when there were only 2 tables to serve. Decor is ridiculously drab and worn out, there was no interest shown in the guests at all, no attempt to welcome us or ask us if we need any information about Exeter etc. Hated it.
