Does not have breakfast included in the price or a gym, however it is very well located and the peo0le are friendly. It is clean and within walking distance to Waikiki Beach (our suite had ocean view although the hotel is one block away from the beach front). I would come back without hesitation.

Have stayed here many times and plan on staying many more. Parking in costly ,but don't have a car for that long of time. All staff, from the bell desk, housekeeping, front desk and even maintenance are very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was adequate, except bathroom. Amenities were few, pool was a pain to get to and from. Room did have a lovely chaise for extra seating and housekeeping staff was quite attentive, going out of the way to respond to special requests, and assistance. Nice location as far as going to beach, etc.

I returned for my second stay to the Ohana East and had a great time. Room had balcony overlooking Waikiki and was sunny and roomy. Beds comfortable and free internet access was very helpful. Loved the bath with shower and pool with free towels. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Security was apparent with the elevator requiring your room key to operate. Location is key , with all the shops and restaurants surrounding this centrally located hotel only 2 blocks from the worlds most beautiful beaches. I will definately return . Dont think twice for this price its a steal.

We went on a quick trip, for our first time. The front desk was friendly most of the time. The lady that checked us out was rude. We weren't told at check-in that parking was 18/day, therefore we had to pay each time we left the parking garage. There is a washeteria located in the hotel, our family members used that and was very satisfied. They also liked the pool and the bar at the pool - we never had time to go to the pool. The location of the hotel was awesome. The activities desk people were also awesome, every time. I would not recommend this hotel for anniversaries, honeymoons or relaxation. Younger couples would probably be better served. Also, to first time-travelers to Hawaii, I wouldn't go out on Waikiki Beach at night - it reminded me of Bourbon Street in New Orleans. There are several awesome restaurants and tons of shopping areas, but to relax, you would need to be located somewhere else. The northshore was the prettiest area. Food was great at major hotel restaurants. The quick-meal place "Buzz's Cafe" on the lobby floor was awesome - we had breakfast there every morning - great Cafe Mocha too! The restaruant "The Round Table" has several big-screen TV's and that's the Sports Central of the hotel. that was pretty cool too. It was an overall OK experience, and our family was already in that hotel. We wouldn't stay there again, though. One last thing - the housekeeping ladies were sweet, kind and friendly - I'm glad we ran into them daily. :)

I like the Ohana East at 150 Kaiulani Avenue in Honolulu for its location. I would rate the hotel higher, but the mattress is very uncomfortable. I could feel the springs and I ended up with a nasty back ache after four nights, (I am still suffering now and I have been home now for three days). If you have ever stayed at Doubletree Hotel, Hyatt, or Marriott, you know what a comfortable mattress is. Ohana East should upgrade their beds or, at the very least, invest in a quality mattress cover. I was a little disappointed with the business center which only consists of two computers with a shared printer, I almost lost an important letter I had been writing because I couldn't print it out and I was on hold with tech support for over 45 minutes and still no one picked up the phone, so I gave up. Luckily I was able to print out my letter after opening and closing the paper drawer (don't ask me how that fixed the problem, but it did). The hotel does not have anyone on hand to service the needs of the business center. However, the desk staff is friendly and helpful with directions etc. The restaurant attached to the hotel is called Keonis and is Hawaiian romantic & quite nice. Good selection of food. but the service is very slow. The food is very minimal portions. If you want cereal better buy two boxes as one box is very tiny. I discovered the Food land across the street and found it a better deal to purchase groceries and put them in the room refrigerator. The room does have a safe too which is convenience when you want to go swimming. I may stay at the Ohana East again, but I would definitely request an upgraded mattress if they have one. Maybe some rooms are equipped. I hope so. Hope this review helps you with your decision to stay here or not.

Good central location within walking distance to beach, shops, restaurants and bars. Nice pool and spa, but most of the time they are overshadowed by the other tall hotels so there is not much sun light...better go to the beach if you want to sunbake. My room was nice (it was an upgrade - partial ocean view room). Nice bed and spacious. A/c worked..and free internet access in each room is ideal for web surfing and emails. The only downside to hotel check-ins is when your plane arrives early (9am) and most check-ins are after 2pm...after a long flight you dont necessarily want to go walking around for hours until your room has been made up. If you ask the staff to see if there are "other" rooms available, they will happily upgrade you as long as u pay the balance which is not much more per night in any case.

liked the fact that we got kitchen with our rooms. Staff was very nice. Location was perfect, across the street from the Intl Market place and grocery store also across street. The only thing was parking. Garage was very small and tight to get cars in also the parking expense was more expensive here than in Maui and The Big Island.

If you need a place to stay for a couple of nights this is the place. If you need a hotel for a vacation to rest and relax this is NOT the place.

This hotel was equivalent to any Holiday Inn or other moderately priced business class hotel. The staff were helpful. The location is convenient for Waikiki. The Ohana chain is locally owned and well respected in Hawaii.

Overall I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. Could stand to have update furnishings but, but still well equipped. Great location across from Waikiki beach access, upscale shopping and several beachfront restaurants. Bathroom a little small. Nice to have a kitchenette.

Comfortable hotel with a great location. If you are a leisure traveler with a family this hotel will accommodate you nicely. The rooms are spacious and most have in room fridges. We were able to upgrade to a larger room for a nominal fee. Daily maid service was less then average. We found sand in our bed several nights in a row and the counters and showers were not wiped down daily.
