This was our 2nd stay at this hotel. Once again prices were good, beach beautiful, and staff very helpful. My only complaint was the towel lady took her job too seriously and was very suspicious we were out to steal her towels. Would highly recommend this hotel!

I liked the location. Could have been cleaner. The hotel was nothing to brag about. The location was good. None of the rooms have complete ocean view. Balconies are on the side of the hotel not the back of hotel as I thought.

The pictures of this hotel are grossly exagerated as they did not look anything like the actual place. The lobby was beutifully done and the front desk staff was pleasant and understanding. But that is about the extent of it all. The elevators were old and felt like they were going to break down. The hallways were not clean and the room doors were old and dented and should have been replaced long ago. Although the room was clean and looked to have been recently decorated, the mechanics were not done well. There were wires sticking out of a hole in the bathroom ceiling from what apeared to be from a light fixture that was taken out. The closet doors would not stay on track. We were lucky to get a room with a view on the eighth floor as we had a great view of the ocean , the city and of the "activites from out balcony Just be warned not to eat on the balcony as the pidgeons will attack you for your food and fly into your room . And also be fore-warned about the surprise charges billed to your room. ($8 for valet parking even if you dont use the valet service ) as well as the $1 for the use of non existant room safe. I would definately not stay at this hotel again

I was skeptical at first but loved the resort once we got there, it was not a lot of people there so i had easy access to the pool and hot tub.

The valet parking attendants were great, they knew who we were and helped us anyway they could. Seriously they do need to get the elevators inspected.... one was out of order and all 3 of them were over a year past the inspection date. We were on the 9th floor and I took the stairs a few times for fear of the elevators.

The beach is wonderful. The rooms are junky and you have to pay to park and thats a ripoff. The hotel was ok but charges for parking and I won't stay there again.

the cleaning crew accidently threw out my coffe mug I had bought and the manager was rude to me when I talked to him about it- he didnt care and did nothing to replace it. The hotel room was not that great, torn carpet and a sink that didnt drain. It did not look like the pictures on line. The outside of the hotle however was very nice - the pool and hot tub were nice- but one thing they do not tell you is they charge expra for everything- like the umbrellas on the beach and the lounge chairs you have to pay to sit on them and if you use more than 1 towel a day they charge you and parking is $8 plus you have to pay the valet- I was not happy with this hotel and will not return. - I wouldnt take the time to type this if I didn't want you to know how much I was disapointed. - oh and they kicked us off the patio becouse we went and picked up sushi fron a restaurant - they said it was outside food..... Dont pick this hotel-

recently stayed 5 nights at the ocean sky.. granted its not the fanciest hotel but for the price and the location its well worth it. it was clean, the staff was friendly. noted that the shuttle from the airport (hollywood) to the hotel is 40 dollars..its 35 to take a cab... the rooms were nice and the beach is right out the back door. nice pool and hot tub. pretty close to fort lauderdales "downtown" area..just a cab ride away. id stay there again for sure.

Quiet-very friendly people. Could use room renovations. Beautiful ocean view. Very helpful, courteous staff. Close to the many attractions.

We were put on the 2nd floor next to the elevator and our balcony looked out onto a huge kitchen exhaust fan. Room smelled like a cheeseburger. Within 10 seconds of seeing this room, we asked to be moved. We were moved 4 doors down and, again, balcony looked onto huge kitchen exhaust fan. We got to smell bacon every morning and dinner every night. Besides the smell, it was loud and ugly. Also, the toilet in our room kicked on and off appx. every hour. This was NO fun in the middle of the night ! We didn't bother to complain because we felt it would be futile. Other than the room, the rest of the hotel is great for the price.

The hotel was ok. The rooms are almost as nice as the pics. They don't warn you about the valet parking for 8 a day. It is right on the beach. All rooms have a partial ocean view. You go out on your balcony to see the ocean.

Read the reviews days before we actually arrived and was ready for the worst. When I got there, the lobby looked beautiful but I still prepared myself for the bad. The room was nice even with an updated bathroom. We had a ocean view on the 9th floor and it was beautiful. Went out back and it was steps to the ocean, pool, hot tub, bar and restuarant. The food and drink prices were extreme but on vacation, what isn't! We did find a little restuarant within walking distance with a great "stimulus breakfast $2.99" and a McDonalds across the street for the kids. We found that buying liquor at the local walgreens was much more cost efficient than the $5-9.00 drinks at the tiki bar. The Everglade Tour was fun and the Water Taxi was okay. But just relaxing on the beach and letting the kids run, play and swim in the ocean was priceless. What a great trip!

The room was in need of some repair. The paint was peeling off the walls and it appeared to be mold or something to that affect on the rim of the lampshades. And around the drain of the tub it was chiipping away (and it was a ceramic tub). The only thing I was disappointed about the view was there was only a 4x2 seperating each ones balcony. Everything was in driving distance. You definiately need a rental car in that area. It was away from the hustle and bustle. All in all it was a good hotel, and we will be back due to the location.

This was among the worse experiences. The night manger did not call a plumber until 18 hours later when we got back at midnight. THEN the plumber came. At 1:00 am we asked for a cleaning lady. No. We asked for cleaning supplies. Refused. We asked for a room change. Only to a smoking one we were told. We said we are checking out. Suddenly a room down the hall opened up for us but only after we said we wanted to speak to a manager and not a night cleck and we wanted the hotel owners name and number. We are not pigs. We should not have come back to the mess in the bathroom. Moreover, the coffee container was chipped on the pouring edge and thus dangerous.

One of the older hotels but the location is wonderful. Right on the beach. I've stayed here several times and have always been satisfied. There is renovating going on to the lounge which has no adverse effect on the hotel itself. If I had any negative comment it would be the rooms could use a face lift. Rooms are clean but bathrooms are worn and furniture could be upgraded. We had a problem with the door going out to the balcony. We called the desk and within minutes someone was there to fix it. We found the personnel very accomodating. The room was equipped with a microwave, coffee pot and small refrigerator, which we found very helpful. All in all it was a good experience. I would definately stay there again.

The only think good about the hotel is that it's on the beach. The rooms were horrible.

The hotel was a bit shabby but that would have been fine if the service had been at least acceptable. We had to ask four times for a crib to be delivered to our room and it finally came up with a cigarette hole burned in the side and an unhappy delivery person. We asked the front desk for reccomendations on nearby breakfast places and they responded with a: "I don't know of any", and the concierge would be here in an hour- we could ask him. Thank goodness for google and mapquest on our blackberries otherwise we would still be driving around.

The location was GREAT!! Pool was clean and a nice size. Bartenders were friendly and informative; made suggestions were to dine, dance, and have a good time. Staff was great!! They even helped us check-in for our flight at the hotel before we checked out. Beds were super comfy. Jet skies available at the hotel. There is a gift shop in the hotel, which has snacks, swim suits, & sun block. For the money, I would go back in a heart beat. My boyfriend and I are already planning our next trip back!! My only one negative experience was the bathroom in my hotel room; they could use some remodeling; which they are in the process of doing. The Polo Lounge was undergoing construction when we were there. But, for the money, and location...I couldn't ask for anything more!!! Please note, the reviews previously written are not completely accurate. There is a safe charge per day of $1.00 - which is communicated to you when you check-in. There is a $25.00 per day charge held on your debit card - which is also communicated to you when you check-in; not to mention the money was back in my account 2 days after I checked out. The hotel staff does suggest using a major credit card, when you hand them the ATM/DEBIT card.
