The hotel looks beautiful. We love the lobby, we love the indoor pool/spa area and the fitness center. This was our second visit and we would go again! Nearby shopping and easy-as-pie beach access--who can beat that? Even getting there--we took a train from NY Penn Station and they picked us up at the station in their courtesy van. We liked the decor of our room and it was clean. This is a great hotel and allows for plenty of family fun.

Attentive staff and beautiful location on ocean. That is was winter instead of summer for this visit. Excellent experience overall. Attentive staff, wonderful accommodations. Was given complimentary wine service. We'll be returning regularly!

The hotel was beautiful and well located, but the walls were so thin that we could hear "personal" noises and full conversations even with our TV on. The staff was quite nice but couldn't tell me where to find a NY Times even though there was a newspaper shop a block away. When we returned from getting the paper, we found a NY Times delivered to all the rooms on our floor. We paid extra for a ocean view room and found it could only be seen from half the room.

Great views of the beach and pool. Extra $12.50 you had to pay per day for the use of the hotel's resort. Nice hotel, great location on the NJ coast. It is a resort and you have to pay an extra fee so you can use the spa. I wasn't there on vacation so I had to pay the extra and wasn't able to enjoy the hotel's extras.

As beach resorts go this one is in the BEST LOCATION. 4 star hotel it is not. No service for breakfast. Rooms way to expensive ours looked out onto pool but had cigarette stained carpet. Also, There was a very loud party drinking by the pool at 2:40 a.m. that woke all of us up. A great location but the hotel is in desperate need of painting and carpet and nicer pillows. If you go try to call if you can get someone on the phone and negotiate a better price around $* would be fairer and don't waste time on the breakfast buffet. They charged us an additional $40 for hot food ridiculous Manhattan type prices but without Manhattan style service.

Internet access was free. The hotel was dirty - rugs were dirty, bed had hair in it, overall the room was scary to sleep in. The bathroom was outdated and also looked as if it had not been cleaned in a while. The beds were uncomfortable and one of them did not even have a sheet on it.

"First I was annoyed by a manditory $12/day ""resort fee"". If it's a manditory fee, it should be in the room price.Night 1, maid left the door open!Night 2, maid didn't even show up!Probably fine in season, but 3rd rate staff in winter."

The location, the atmosphere and the spaciness. The outdoor pool was not ready for use, unfortunately. We had a fantastic stay. The atmosphere at the hotel, the surroundings and the friendly staff made our week-end a success.

I stayed at the Ocean Place on 8/31/06 and booked the Spa lite package. I found the hotel staff extremely helpful and the service wonderful. The room was clean and the breakfast great. I can't wait to stay again. Although the room is pricey you can't beat the location. Especially when you consider what beachfront motels are charging.

Location,2 Pools, Spa, Ocean-view rooms, Beach & boardwalk. Nothing noteworthy. A lovely old modern hotel on the ocean, good for conferences, good for vacationers, close to NYC, family friendly, yet spacious enough to accommodate a large convention and no one feels the others presence. I highly recommend it.

"We stayed at Ocean Place with our 2 teenage daughters because we wanted it ALL! We wanted to visit NYC and have an ocean front hotel with a beach for relaxing as well. We visited NYC by speed ferry, which was great...no driving hassles or parking worries. We drove the coast and saw light houses, nature perserves, and Board Walks. We even drove into Jersey City (fairly easy drive) to take the ferry to visit Lady Liberty. I would highly recommend this resort. They aren't perfect, but they know how to take care of their guests! We wouldn't hesitate to stay there again."

Bed was comfortable, wake-up call on time. Tried to add a $15 "resort" surcharge to agreed price. On the beach! Large room, nice toiletries, comfortable bed. We were strictly overnight guests to attend a funeral and didn't use any of the hotel's facilities.

Location and staff were excellent. Added an extra fee each day for facility usage which was not mentioned. Staff was very helpful, lots of construction upgrades going on right outside our window, moved us to an oceanfront room, no charge. Overall a very nice weekend getaway.

"rooms are so-so. high priced for the quality of room, but you are on the ocean, balconies face the water. lobby beautiful. gym need improvement, staff needs a better management service."
