The highlight of my stay at Hotel Ocean was waking up, collecting my beach towel and chair from the front desk, and taking a few short steps across the street to the water, a saucy top-optional part of the beach if that intrigues you. My Jr. Suite was very clean, spacious; however per usual, website pictures are deceiving when it comes to decor - photos appear a lot more luxurious than reality. The staff was courteous, but I'm pretty low-maintenace on trips so they didn't have to go out of the way for anything. I know this will sound lame to some readers, but if you like to enjoy some sleep time on your vacation or just some lazy relaxation, the noise level at this hotel will not permit. Well, why South Beach then...well for the beach. My suite overlooked the not-so picturesque courtyard (don't be misled by "partial ocean view"), but was also on top of the attached restaurant's kitchen. Loud music blares into the wee hours of the morning, an intermittent drum roll indicated some form of live entertainment each night - I still don't know what that was. I opted for Mango's Tropical Cafe live shows, food and drinks a couple of the nights and only a few blocks up the srip. Peopel certainly were flocking to the Italian restaurant on the premises; I never tried it but it did really look and smell delicious. Overall, I was left with a very mixed impression...if I had been on one of those infamous raucus "girls trips" from my '20s and earlier in my '30s, most of the above wouldn't have mattered much to me, but these days I need a lot of quality and comfort along with convenience for my pennies.

There is tuly no greater location if your interest is the beach, restaurants, shops, bars, and nightclubs. You are right in the middle of it all! My wife and I were celebrating our 1st anniversary and we couldn't have asked for a better stay. We do not have any kids so we were definitely looking for a little fun and this location definitely provided it. The hotel had excellent amenities in the room, nice hardwood floors, great modern decor, with flatscreen and stocked minibar/fridge. We didn't spend much time in the room but when we did is was very pleasant. We had the second floor room right next to the elevator but we didn't hear it at all. In fact, our room overlooked the plaza/restaurant below so we could open the windows and listen to the hustle and bustle that was happening outside to the backdrop of the music that was playing in the plaza/restaurant while we were getting ready. It was a nice touch to take in the ambience of South Beach nightlife. Do not expect much from the hotel continental breakfast or lobby. Incredibly small lobby and does not offer much in the way of lobby amenities or space but who needs that anyway when all the fun is just outside the door of your hotel. We would probably stay elsewhere next time just to try to experience a different nook of South Beach but I couldn't have picked a better spot for our first time in SoBe. Excellent experience!

Nice hotel, across the street from the beach between 12th and 13th street. Room was clean and nice but TV didn't work and room service was only 12pm to 12am. Room was stylish and comfortable.

It was a little hard to find - their signage isn't adequate, but once you find it, it's worth it. I recommend parking in the municipal garage a block or so over. The staff was wonderful. The room was extremely pleasant. Loved the bathroom. They definitely need to give more hand towels and washcloths. I liked the fact that we could open all the windows at night. If you go to bed early, this is not the hotel for you. The rest. in the front has music till around 2, but hey, if you're in South Beach, why would you go to bed early? Also, we heard the garbage trucks in the morning, but not a big deal for us. Will definitely stay there again.

Stayed for one night before leaving for a cruise. Short cab ride from airport and Port of Miami. This hotel has excellent location on Ocean Drive. Beach is across the street and restaurants are within walking distance. Room was really nice. Hardwood floors, queen size bed, flat screen tv, safe in the room and marbeled bathroom. Staff was friendly although we only dealt with them when checking in/out which was quick and easy. They did charge us for a resort fee even though we stayed for 15 hours and its per guest per day but it was around 4 per guest per day so for us it was only 9 which isn't a lot and I think travel agency warns you about it before booking. This was our first visit to Miami and for the few hours we were there it was enjoyable and Hotel Ocean added to the enjoyment. Would stay again.
