This hotel is a landmark in D.R. , it's been there for about 50 years...which seems like the last time they changed the rug. The smell of cigar and cigarette smoke is the first thing you notice when you walk in the lobby. They do not have separate smoking areas, not even in the restaurants. I had a horrible expierence with the laundry service. I sent a dress to press and it was returned damaged. After speaking to 3 different people, someone from laundry took the dress again to attempt to fix the mistake. The following day, the manager of laundry personally brought the dress to the room and then proceeded to tell me that the dress was given to them damaged and it was my fault. He did not take any blame and insulted me by suggesting that I brought a damaged dress to wear to a wedding.

This is a Good Hotel for the Business traveller. It does offer nice pool and bar if youhave time to enjoy. The casino is samall. The reataurant is Large and the food is of good quality. The service at the Restaurant however is "caribbean" slow. I have traveled to DR numner of time and various hotels. This by fdar is the my favorite.

The hotel is very impressive with courteous staff. The double room left something to be desired with very small beds (hardly fit two people in one bed). The carpet could have used more thorough cleaning. Dining staff were top notch. Very nice pool and well kept grounds. High taxes added to the total cost of stay.

My sister got married at hotel Embajador on August 9th, at the Grand Ballroom. The wedding was spectacular. I stayed with my brother at this hotel for two nights. They allowed us to check in by noon, although the check in time is 3:00pm. The rooms were beautiful. My sister had a suite, the suites are beautifully appointed. Should you stay at this hotel, request for the pool view. nice view of the ocean, which is about one mile away. Great view of the city, since the hotel is located on higher ground in the area known as Anacaona, Mirador Sur, Santo domingo's pricest neighborhood where the average apt costs 1 million dollars. If you are considering staying at Jaragua, do not waste your money, stay at Embajador. Cleaner, gorgeous grounds, less expensive at the bars and restaurants, great pool. I will stay at this hotel next time i go to santo domingo.

the beds were beyond hard and uncomfortable, the phones in the rooms were a joke ; they had uncontrolable static and no message retrieval button. had to call the front desk five times just to find someone to tell me how to operate the phone! they kept transfering me from one party to another just because no one knew how to operate the phone. all food in hotel is extremely expensive. i will never stay there again. front desk staff was unfriendly. they need to go back to orientation.

It may have been a unique experience but my room's furniture was somewhere between damp / soaking wet. It clearly was not ready for a guest when I was given this particular room.

The rooms were suprosongly luxurious with walk in closet and balcony. Workers were quite friendly and professional. The only issue was the TV was really small for the size of the room about 19. Considering that was the only issue, it was an overall great experience. I will return in future visits to the Dominican Republic.

This hotel is very comfortable for business and personal travel as well. The rooms are clean, large and well-appointed. The lobby is attractive and has enough seating for a large number of persons, whether just relaxing, wanting a drink at the bar, or waiting for someone else. The staff is helpful but not overwhelming. The casino is just the right size, with choices of various games, but still not a loud atmosphere. My #1 choice in Santo Domingo.

the embajador was very accomodating, however it should have a small pool for the kids (even though there was a lifeguard on duty and he was very attentous to the kids.

This is not a double occupancy hotel. When you rent the room not per person, you need to pay extra for each other person than yourself. I had to pay for my husband. IT WAS HOTEL POLICY. Nevertheless , the hotel was clean and well kept and the staff were very curtious. However I will never stay there again.
