My USC college Freshman and I were in L.A. for his orientation. The first night we were there, he roomed with me in our one queensized bed room. The second night, he stayed on campus and I was by myself. The hotel is a couple of miles away from USC, and thus, we had to get creative with traveling back and forth from the school to the hotel because we did not have a rental car. The DASH bus system was right outside the door and easy/cheap to use, but they don't operate after 6:30 p.m., so getting back to the hotel later in the evening is complicated. This was a little limiting and discouraging. I made the reservation at the O Hotel as part of a flight/hotel package through Cheap Tickets. I called the hotel a few weeks after making the reservation to confirm the room. They did NOT have a reservation in my name, and I had to call Cheap Tickets to straighten it out. They did so, and when I called the second time, a few days later, the room reservation was there. I would recommend confirming, as well, if making the reservation through someone else besides the hotel. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly. We checked in quickly. The room was very contemporary, pleasant to the eye and very clean. There is wireless internet available, but only four or five television stations. Two items of interest: The room is very small. The bathroom, too, is very small. No counterspace whatsover in bathroom, and only one sink. The shower is modern and a bit tricky to figure out. Otherwise, it is beautiful and up-to-date with slate and marble everywhere. The lobby is refined and comfortable, with a fireplace area, bar and restaurant therein. There was live jazz one evening, and I took advantage of listening over a couple of drinks and light dinner. The wait staff was efficient and the food was delicious. Menu offers a good variety with unique preparation, which I appreciated since I'm a bit of a food snob and don't want run-of-the-mill meals I can get anywhere. The restaurant expe

I was thrilled to be the first guest at this new boutique hotel in Downtown L.A. Although there is no fitness facility yet or restuarant I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The hotel reminds me a bit of manhatten and the beds were unbelievable. The staff was so friendly they were willing to go out of their way to make me feel at home. I come to downtown every few months for business and I found this hotel randomly I usually stay at Hilton's but I decided to try this place out. I was so impressed with this place I can not wait to go back and see the rest of it. With the complimentary internet and amazing location a business traveler like myself can find themself in heaven!

Will not return to this hotel. Room was painfully austere, minimal to the nines. Not even enough room in bathroom for a towel rack. It is mosquito infested. The air conditioner unit is noisy, and during the day, the steam rises from other showers, presumably from lower floors, and the humidity is unbearable in the room. No shampoo in room, had to ask twice for it to be delivered by housekeeping. There was a large concrete block that rose above the carpeting, and was dangerous to the foot, on entry to the bathroom. The heat in the elevator was terrible. The lobby is nice, and the staff tries to be helpful.

I brought the girlfriend here to stay in our flower street suite and before we even got to our room we were met with a hot floor where the maids were doing laundry and had stuffed hundreds of towels into the corner of the hallway where we had to get to our room. Subsequently we walked in and it was muggy and humid in the room so we opened the window until we were done getting ready to go to nokia theater. I got in the shower and it was as if whoever designed the shower forgot that you actually had to take a shower in there and the glass fixture was about a foot and a half to short and the shower head didn't help. When I got out my gf pointed out all the stains on the bed cover we were to sleep under. I grabbed the remote for the AC (no central air) that was held on the wall with velcro and tried to remember that I was staying in a $250/night room. So we closed the window and decided to turn the A/C on before we left for our show and set it to 75 degrees to match the ambient air temperature outside. We got back and walked into a hot room again, so we opened the window and fiddled with the A/C some more but it wouldn't go below 81 degrees. We were woken by moving trucks at 7 am on saturday and decided it was time to leave. I'm not sure if they purposely stuck us in the room because we had booked with orbitz but it's worth finding out since we only had to pay $165/night instead of their ridiculous rate. Although I wouldn't stay there again for either of those rates.

The design of the room was cozy and perfect for two. The TV only had a few channels and the window had a view of the next building. Hotel is in a convenient location in the Financial District of LA. There is a nearby Macy's if you need to run out and get something and lots of little bars and restaurants within walking distance. Parking is cheaper on the street side or at a public lot ($5 versus $22 at the hotel). The showers are cool if you know how to maneuver it, however the water could have been hotter. Overall, if you're planning to be out and about in LA rather than staying in all day, this is a good place to stay.

Great location, and decent price for downtown and the decor in the rooms was cool. The elevator was broken for 2 days - and I hate to disturb the staff for ice each time you need it... and tv was lacking some stations you's typically find while surfing...

Great food, beautiful room. Poor cell phone access. Very very bright blue light on TV that won't turn off. The O Hotel is very convenient, has beautiful, modern, yet quite cozy accomnodations. Great food, and very helpful staff.

My husband and I booked two nights here during the middle of the week. The lobby was wonderfully decorated, the hotel's use of space was very well done. The room was clean, and the decor was simple and modern. I really liked the bathroom set up, even though I read that some people didn't like the shower, I thought it was really cool! Some thumps during the late night hours from people walking over head, but nothing that would keep me awake. Overall the best part of our time in LA was at the O Hotel! The front desk staff were very friendly, and the service at the restaurant was great. We would stay longer next time! Good location for things to do in walking distance, not far from the Museum of Contemporary Arts which we walked to from the hotel.

The service was good and the housekeepers did an excellent job keeping up the room. Great location, great design. Very comfortable rooms. I only wish the staff was more social and friendly to make the stay more comfortable.

Okay for one night stay attending even downtown. Lobby is beautiful and leads one to believe the rooms are as well. Though they've been refurbished it was clearly done on the cheap. Carpets were close to disgusting and need to be replaced. Bathroom the size of a small cabinet. Shower small and strange to operate.

It's a great European style hotel. Love the decor, the drinks at the bar and the service there. The only drawback was the music coming from the bar/lounge late at night could be heard in our 5th floor room! Not so good.

From the moment we checked in, to when we left, we were made to feel as though we were special. The front desk help went out of their way to meet our every need. They arranged transportation for us and saved us money since they had their 'own' drivers that we could hire. The hotel staff was wonderful. You go, Merrill..I expect to see your name is lights someday. The continental breakfast was a plus, the chocolate danish was delish! We had a drink at the bar which was good and we wished we would have had a meal there as the food we saw served looked so appetizing. The lobby with the fireplace was so welcoming. My husband did not like the seating, but to me, it was fine. I put a pillow behind my back and I was good to go. The actual room was smallish but I was aware of that when I booked the room. It was as clean and neat as could be. We both laughed at the shower and lack of a real shower door. The door slider (on the floor) dividing the bathroom and room hurt the feet if you didn'd step over it. I would stay there again in a heart beat. It was close to the Nokia theater. A Starbucks was close by and even late at night, we felt safe enough to be out and about. There is a IHOP across the street so even in the middle of the night, there is food available. There is a

I equate this hotel to Club Quarters business hotels; well appointed, comfortable, efficient use of space, clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff, very reasonably priced, and adjoining in and out parking. We didn't get to eat in the restaurant, but will next time. We will definitely stay there next time we visit L.A.

The hotel has been updated to be very cool and club like in its atmosphere. The hotel staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about walking directions to restaurants, stores, etc. They were also apologetic in advance about a party being held there that night by Kanye West, and let the hotel guests know they were invited-I guess to take some of the sting out of the late night noise. We declined the invite, and slept soundly, even though the party went till 2 a.m.I guess this hotel is a hot spot, but the staff were very attentive and helpful to old 47 year olds like us.The room was modern in a young way, like very upscale Ikea-platform beds, fluffy white duvets, well lit, really cool bathroom. The only downside was the room seemed really small as there was only the view of the next hotel, which was very close to us.So our part of the hotel felt claustrophobic.
