Beats hotel rooms hands downThese apartments cost less than the vast majority of hotels in the Reading area but give a fantastic 'home from home' feeling. The apartments are clean, bright and tidy, and just a few minutes walk from Reading town centre with all its shops and restaurants. Highly recommended

Excellent apartments!!We stayed in an apartment for 4 people (1 double room, 1 king size room). The bedrooms were very clean and neat and the beds were pretty comfortable! The double room was alot smaller than the king size room but absolutely fine just to sleep in. We spent most of our time together chatting in the living room which had a tv, dvd player, comfy sofa and coffee table. In the king size room and the living room there were full length doors which could be fully opened to let air in (a godsend with the temperature it was when we were there). We were looking out onto quite a busy street, but there was very little noise when the windows were shut and it certainly wasnt something we were bothered about. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you'll need for a couple of days. When we arrived there was no one on reception, but they sent very detailed instructions of how to access the safe and building to get in. This was no problem and they even had a life for us to carry our bags upstairs.When we went to enquire about payment the receptionist was a little off hand and seemed to question why we had not paid on our day of arrival. We thought this was a little strange as the appartments were set up to enable self check in and later payment, and there were clearly other keys in the safe which were picked up after ours, who also must not have paid on arrival. Either way we ignored this, and arranged to come back and pay the bill in the evening when an equally off hand man was manning reception. But this didnt bother us on the whole, we just thought it was a bit of a shame when the appartments had made such a good impression!!I stayed here as a low key kind of hen night with a few friends and it was perfect. We went into london for the day by train (£15 return at offpeak times) and the next day went to windsor (£6 parking for 3 hours). Number 18 serviced appartment reviewAppartment location was ideal for my work and there is a Tesco express right next door which was perfect to stock up the kitchen for my fout nights stay.There is only about 6 parking spaces so you have to be lucky. There is no other parking nearby and there is clamping and fines for parking in the wrong places.It says the appartments are serviced but my room was not cleaned or tidied for the 4 days. No change of towels, bedding or bins in my appartment during my stay.The appartments are only manned during certain hours which is clearly shown on the info packs but when the fire alarm went off at midnight and we all had to leave the building there was nobody there representing number 18 to let us know what was going on.The appartment was modern and well stocked. The kitchen had everything.Overall - nice appartment but poor service, no cleaning and poor parking facilities

The standard of the apartment was great. However, the only down points were the availability of parking and the DVD player was not working. Other than that I thought it was very good and would recommend staying there.

Room all fine. 2nd morning no hot water - only person I could contact was in Brighton and they couldn't help me.Reception was supposed to be staffed from 7am but no-one there up until I had to leave at 8am. Lady in Brighton was very apologetic but that wasn't much use. Turns out they knew there was a problem with the boiler the night before but nobody chose to warn me.Appreciate these things can happen but the service available to help me was non-existent. Learned my lesson and its back to hotels for me.

For the same cost as an impersonal hotel, I got this managed apartmrnt, which seems to offer more privacy. Very handy for The Oracle shopping centre, and with a Tesco Express less than 300 yards away, it's ideally located.

I stayed at Number 18 at Reading. It was very close to the Centre - just 10 minutes on foot. I also found it extremely convenient for walking to the University of Reading where I was attending a conference. The apartment was modernly furnished, very clean and spacious. Heating was lovely. Front office service also very good....and hi to Jenny!

The apartment was large and very modern with big spactious rooms and nice comfy funishing. I would recommend if you are driving to the apartments you call the clamping company connected to the apartments to verify where you can park as the apartments themselves only have 9 parking spaces which are always full. Also one major concern of mine was the local children playing football in the cark park and running in and out of the aprtment block. Also more tea towels would have been nice and a bit of attention to blown light bulbs.

I stayed in one of the newly built apartments for the first time. Although everything is of good quality and all facilities are available, the one I stayed in was a little small which resulted in it being VERY warm. Even with windows wide open and the fan on full it was still too warm to be comfortable. Otherwise it was a pleasant, comfortable room in all other respects.

The studio flat we were allocated was on the fourth floor, which was accessible by both staircase and elevator. On arriving on the floor, one can’t help but notice the heat and humidity; there seems to be very little ventilation, which is also apparent in the studio. The flat itself was furnished to a very comfortable standard with all the basic necessities and amenities catered for. Hygiene and cleanliness, however, was slightly questionable. The bathroom had various stains on the tiles, specifically around the toilet area. They appeared to be urine stains that had not been cleaned and had been left to ferment. There was a basic model combination DVD-TV player, but the channels had not been tuned – tuning them (or indeed attempting to) was not a quest easily achieved. A lamp near the TV was also missing a light bulb, with no adequate replacements within the apartment.The bed sheets which appeared to claim themselves as virgin white were also tarnished with marks that resembled makeup or dried blood. The bed itself, although on appearance resembling a luxury bed with a colossal headboard, was a king-size bed on wheels – not very gratifying for Mike and Princess!Excluding these factors, it was a comfortable and quiet apartment to reside in for a weekend break.

Arrived at time the apartments stipulated. Poor customer service - no one was present on day of check-in. Had to wait twenty minutes until somebody else staying there was able to let me in - no staff were present and all contact numbers didn't work.

fab apartment, huge rooms, very mod con. only down side was directions are a nightmare, but once you find it is in walking distance of town with great shops restaurants etc. Thoroughly recommended Free parkin g included too!

I love this place! In the fetid swamp that is Reading accommodation, this one stands alone. I have to travel to Reading regularly with my colleagues. It works out cheaper to get a Number 18 room between 2 of us than get two single rooms at a cheap-o B&B. The facilities are superb, excepting (alas, again) the pathetic showers, which is like trying to clean yourself in a fine mist. Apart from that I have no complaints.

Amazing value. Sorry we couldn't stay longer. The place was a quiet, clean haven after heavy business days, comfortable, convenient, spacious, light - everything as advertised and more apart from several small spotlights which needed replacing. Specially courteous and thoughtful response from Ahmed. We also appreciated the helpful cancellation terms and selected your company for the reassurance this gave. (Information you give on lift and building problems now don't apply.) Altogether a great stay - thanks!

Apartment was nice and new, lift was out due to building work though, and got 4th floor so that wasn't too nice. Room itself and fixtures and fittings were new and very well presented. Room temperature was stifling hot, although my comments lead to the management considering putting cooling fans in on 4th floor - reckon the roof is too well insulated ;) Need more parking spaces too, other than that I did enjoy my stay, very clean and well maintained, just the greenhouse effect on the 4th floor was disappointing really,
