Novotel StevenageRoom was fine - toilet to room 130 was not clean and needed to be bleached to get rid of toilet staining in the lower pan. Food was of poor quality for the evening meal. Value for £15 was extremely expensive for 2 fish cakes on a bed of green wilting and brown edged lettuce with bottled spicy sauce. The cost was £15!!! Very disappointed. If I ever stay again I will not eat on the premises. We did not have breakfast in case that was poor value again as that would have been £15.59 for full English breakfast. Again a vast cost. We went elsewhere for our breakfast. Would not recommend anyone eating here

Review The rooms were not as good quality as I am use to - I did mention my disappointment when I checked out as the bedroom was rather shabby. I stay in Premier/Holiday Inn Express and find their rooms of a much higher standard.The staff however are absolutely first class. Katie who was acting General Manager is one of the best mananagers I have come across - she took time, nothing was too much trouble and she also gave my little boy a bag of complimentary toys. A wonderful gesture.

The hotel provides good value and customer service is also good. The quality of the food in the restaurant is variable and expensive.

Friendly welcome in a modern, well appointed hotel. Quality of food did not represent value for money. Breakfast service was poor.

The room was very clean, modern and the bed was comfortable. The blackout curtains were great too. Bathroom and shower were good. Would have been useful to have more plugs in the room and lights near a mirror in the room in order to apply make up etc. Overall, however very good; service and staff very helpful. Verg good value for money.

Very friendly helpful bar staff, but the service from the kitchen was terrible, not helped by half the menu items not being available.

When my wife and myself arrived we were told that although we asked for a non-smoking room when it was booked through Late Rooms there was only a smoking room available.But reception offered us a free breakfast and as the breakfast was a very good buffet we thought that was a satisfactory solution.Overal we thought the deal was very good value.

Everything spot on except the English breakfast - No sausages, no mushrooms, no fried eggs, no tomatoes. I hope this was just a one off. Value for money based on the late rooms price.

easy access, right next to J7 on A1. Evening meal was good but a little expensive, breakfast was expensive. Overall a pleasant experience and GREAT value through LATEROOMS.

Had excellent night sleep here. V comfortable bed, v quiet and wasn't airless and stuffy as many of these hotels are. Booked twin which was effectively two doubles as one a sofa bed. Def stay here again.

Excellent hotel and friendly staff. Very quiet and calm. Bigger lounge and bar areas than most of these types of hotel/motel and much more comfortable. The only problem we had was with having to walk through the smokers on the door every time we went in and out. The smoke tended to waft into the lounge area as well during the evening.Dog friendly.

There was a slight hiccup in getting the room ready as we had been booked into a Single Room rather than a \"Twin\".This was quickly remedied upon arrival. We had booked a \"smoking\" room but such was not available when we arrived. However, I readily accept that there will be a limited number of such rooms and we did not arrive until 2100hrs.All staff were very pleasant, cheerful and most helpful.
