DisappointingStayed here for two nights in order to attend a family funeral. The room smelled bad due to the poorly draining sink. When we asked for it to be repaired next morning the gunge in it was disgusting. The sink was also badly scratched and unappealing. The bed was very close to the wall making it very difficult to access from one side, so we had to clamber across. Getting out in the night to use the bathroom was VERY inconvenient. Everything looked very tired and down-at-heel. The second night, there was a problem with the water supply in the hotel resulting in us not being able to flush the toilet, wash our hands or have a shower.Breakfast was dreadful with awful service and poorly cooked food. The rest of the menu was very overpriced and, if breakfast was anything to go by, to be avoided.There was no customer feedback sheet for our comments - unsurprisingly!When I complained about the water situation they offered a £35 refund or a complementary bed and breakfast repeat stay. Chose the refund - as we will not be going back!

From the minute we arrived the staff were cheerful and extremely helpful. The upgrade offer to B and B was excellent value for money - my daughter thought she was in heaven with the buffet breakfast- which was included free of chargefor her!The heated swimming pool was a bonus - and very clean.All in all we had a great time; the room was clean and plenty of spare towels/bedding if needed were available.A excellent value for money experience and we would recommend this hotel to anyone with or without children.

Ideal hotel for stopping in for early access to Plymouth port.Good family hotel, with games provided for children as a little extra, making them feel welcome. Ideal stop over for early set off to port for crossing to France. Ideal location just outside the centre of Plymouth. No road noise heard even though just off busy roundabout. Very comfortable stay for all.

Weekend Stay at Plymouth Novotel I have stayed here before and standards are gradually slipping - bathroom door wouldn't shut; towel rail hanging off wall; several chips on bath enamel; thick dust on ventilation grille. It used to be my standard for value - but Novotel need to revamp the rooms/carpets and facilities! Still has reasonable service.

Dog Friendly HotelOne of only a few big hotels in plymouth who take dogs. this is one of the main reasons we book, and its easy for the south hams beaches etc

Our stay at novotel plymouthStaying at the novotel plymouth was very pleasent the staff were good and very helpfull if they were needed and left you to yourself and they didnt bother you. The room was well presented and cleaned daily food was good self service breakfast was great as we didnt have much to eat for the rest of the day only our evening meal. Thanks to all for a pleasent stay and we may be back to stay again.

Value for money..would not want to pay full price

TerribleThe main areas of the hotel had received a refirbishment that the rest of the hotel had missed. I stayed in room 315. The room was big but the floor smelt as soon as you got out of the lift. The room was worse, mixture of cats and old washing. I was also suprised to see cat hair everywhere. The walls were so thin you could hear everything your neighbours were doing and this room was facing the road which appeared to be popular with the \"boy racers\" of the town. I wouldnt stay here again, especially if i was traveling alone. I didnt feel safe and had to prop a chair up against the door as when ever another door was opened mine felt like it was opening too. It was also very well known in the area but not for the right reasons!

Convenient if a little tiredEasy to find and service was fine. Room was OK but carpet stained and bathroom looking like it has been in use for some years. Facilities in room similar to some cheaper chains. Still reasonable value at £70 but not at full advertised rate.
