I arrived after midnight as planes were delayed. The atmosphere was serene, quietly helpful throughout the stay. The high level of unobtrusive efficiency created a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. The room was spaciou and well-furnished. I was not accompanied by my husband and requested a single room but was given a double for £75. There was a wide double bed, separate toilet, shower and bath, a modern, comfortable sofa, safe, drinks cablinet and it would have been ideal for a couple. This was excellent value for money. The room had internet access.

the only critism i have is i think when people are staying for a full week there should be a weekly internet and film rate i had to pay £9.99 each day which seemed a little exespensive

This is a large hotel close to an access roundabout for the A1. I stayed here for two nights whilst working at the University. The noise from the A1 reduces to a low level at about 0300hrs, but either side of this it is intrusive, I would advise trying for a room on the quiet side of the hotel. A gym is specified in the review, but this is within the pool area which is hot and humid with just a few machines; it is ok for training for a visit to the tropics but little else. The food was not good during my stay, dry chicken with a pasta dish, and on the 2nd night a gristle steak. For the prices charged, this was a very poor effort. The ubiquitous wide screen in the bar is typical for bars and hotels but not to my taste, so I managed hide around the corner. Unsatisfactory, but this standard is too common throughout the UK.The peripatetic Engineer.

Very clean nice friendly helpful staff, Road Noise Awful though and this hotel is marketed as an Airport Hotel although there are numerous others within walking distance of Hotel and this is some 5-10mins away by Car? It does have its own shuttle thatruns every 30mins from 5am though.

Hotel was perfectly adequate for the purpose, good location, i.e. right on the A1. It is described as having a Gym, which is in fact 4 pieces of CV equipment on the side of the pool!

Total mixed bag of a stay. Room was lovely, bathroom great. Service awful - a staff group that's clearly unhappy about working there and it shows. Is it too much for someone to say 'welcome' when you arrive? Really noisy with the main road so close so unless you're a very heavy sleeper I really wouldn't go. £12 flat rate for breakfast which is just too much in my book.

On arriving the Hotel seemed clean enough and quite modern in the reception. The rooms were basic and done their job although the doors to the rooms arent the safest . It does'nt seem like they are closed properly although they are, and it would'nt take much to force them open. We paid £12 each for the breakfast on Sunday morning and it was a total farce to say the least. Each time we went to get something we had to ask one of the Waiters for it. There were no bowls , there was no bread for toast , there were no eggs , there was no bacon , the hash browns ran out, there was no cutlery . When the food eventually came it was ok although for £48 for 4 breakfasts i thought it could have been much, much better . When checking out of the room i told the girl at reception that their breakfast was very poorly organised ad she replied " oh ! thats £ 48 please". Anyway , for 1 night it was ok , i would'nt have liked to spend much longer there though. The taxi fare from the airport to the hotel was scandalous also . £12 for a taxi there and only £7 for a taxi into Newcastle.

A very nice hotel but very noisy due to Saturday night drunks outside the front until very late keeping me awake!

The hotel had a newly refurbished reception/bar area, but i found the cleanliness of my superior room left a little to be desired. Black finger marks on backs of doors, hairs in sink, very little toilet roll and the whole room stunk of cigars. (althought i had requested a smoking room, the strong odour did not decrease throughtout the whole stay) it even smelt of cigars in the shower cubicle! The sauna in the lesuire suite floors were filthy also.

The hotel is very, very noisy as is is next to a busy road. I found the rooms better than the last time I stayed, when they were cold, bleak and the aircon / heating did not work - I guess it is 'pot luck' whether you get a decent room or a Stalinist cell. The food was fine, but expensive.

Will be lovely when they have finished the work in reception i am sure however, whilst this was going on it spoilt breakfast.. Rooms very clean and modern although i forgot novatel not too keen on baths.. Also because its quite close to the A1 you do hear some traffic but I still got to sleep fine ;-)

In process of upgrading foyer during our visit. Rooms quite old and shabby although moderately clean. Just about adequate for the price we paid but not for the advertised cost of this hotel.

The breakfast quality and choice was good but the restaurant struggled to cope with the numbers at popular times, despite remaining open for breakfast until 11.00am.Location was good, away from Newcastle centre but within easy reach. Parking was good. The small pool and fitness centre was thankfully not very busy.
