Excellent location. Parking space is too small, expensive.

Great service, good room, no TV guide. This would be my favourite hotel in Montreal if they would expand their TV selections, make them easy to understand, and offer FREE internet access. Really, just include it in the price, and make it fast and good.

The Novotel hotel is very clean and comfortable. Great location - 1 block from The Bell Centre if you're going to any entertainment venue there. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Rooms at the hotel are very clean and a good size. All the linen smelled very fresh and was of a good quality. Everything in the room worked perfectly so there was no issue with heat, lights, TV, etc. Cabs were always available at the front door with bilingual drivers who knew where they were going. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to downtown Montreal for business or pleasure.

We went to Montreal for a long weekend and to visit friends. The location is excellent, within walking distance of lots of restaurants, (there's one in the hotel but it's a lot more interesting to eat elsewhere.) the Metro and shopping. The staff were very courteous and accommodating. My wife is sensitive to the chemicals that are usually used for cleaning so we asked that no cleaning be done while we were there. The room had a bit of that "hotel" odor when we arrived, though. The good news was that you can open a window so we were able to air out the room. My only beef with the hotel is that they say that there is a fridge in the room. There is, but it is totally filled with mini bar and snack items and it's one of these deals where if you remove anything, you've bought it. We phoned the front desk and the next day a second fridge arrived for our use. If you need a fridge immediately, you can probably arrange something ahead of time. There was no extra charge for the extra fridge. The parking is convenient, right at the hotel, though it's not included in the room price. It was an extra $18/day, however you can come and go as you please. On the down side- no hooks in the bathroom, practically no drawer space for unpacking.

The beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms were very spartan and did not have free internet access.

The room was comfortable and roomy. It was clean and bright. When I asked staff where to buy an umbrella, it was at a time when most stores were not open so the girl at the desk went and got me her own umbrella to use. The staff pleasantly answered all of my questions and were pleasant at all times. I thought the restaurant was a little pricey compared to other hotels in the area.

We met friends, went on sightsing. We missed a normal fridge (not a bar) and a microwave because we travelled with a child, but a friendly service brought us an additional fridge and a bottle warmer!!! They also were wery helpful by looking for our lagguage as we left it in taxy.

When I showed up, they did not have any record of my reservation. I showed them my Orbitz confirmation and they looked for 10 mins in the computers and papers but said they had nothing for me, but were friendly and said I could get an available room at rack rate $$$. Since I already pre-paid booked with Orbitz, I had to spend a small fortune calling the US customer service at Orbitz to explain the situation. With all the waiting to be connected to a human operator and explaining the situation and waiting some more while Orbitz called the hotel and sorted the situation, I was standing in the lobby will all my bags and waiting on the phone for 20mins. I did not get a kingsize room as requested so we cramped on a double bed. The bedlines and towels looked old. Plus it was really noisy in the morning with people walking and talking outside since the room was close to the elevator. I checked out early without a good nights sleep. PS: The parking space in the hotel is extremely tight!

Friendly and helpful staff. Shower was busted. TV controls very tricky. Corridors cold. Novotel is a very modernist style hotel. Registration at three oval islands in the lobby is helpful and better than the traditional style. The style is straight lines and simplified shapes and very little color except for an excessively sparky ceiling in the restaurant booths. Staff and service were excellent.

Nice hotel, great staff: friendly and quite helpful. Room was clean and nice. Great value for Montreal. Good location and area. Only thing that was a problem was that our room was on the 2nd floor facing the street and the street sounds were pretty loud. But it is not the fault of the hotel that people in Montreal stay up and party late into the night. We opted to stay in our room to get a view of it all anyway.

Everything about the hotel from the welcome from the reception personnel to the comfort of the room was top-class.

Novetel, Montreal Centre, is located 1/2 block from St. Catherine and one block from Cresent St. - close to the action but not enough to be bothered by any noise if you are an early sleeper. The lobby had a computer/printer available for customer usage. Ice and soda machines on each floor and a fitness room in the basement. The rooms are comfortable with flat-screen TVs, great beds and modern bathrooms although a little lacking in privacy and unconventional with the split, wood and frosted glass doors. The room was a little short in clothing storage space with 3 small drawers and a moderate closet. They do provide a free safe, iron w/an ironing board and card-swipe door entry. The only bone that I had to pick was with the mini-frig/mini-bar that was packed full of pricey (fully monitored) goodies but left no room to store anything of you own (doggie-bags, juice/soda, etc.).
