We loved this hotelWe had booked a standard room, but an executive room was what was available, so we were upgraded at no extra charge. It was a spacious, luxurious room by European standards and worthy of the four-star ranking by any standards. The location is a bit out of the way but easily walkable from the train station once you memorize the route. Breakfast (included in the booked rate) was quite good, abundant, and more than adequate (if a bit repetitive). There were a few small glitches in maid and front-desk service, but all in all staying at the Novotel greatly enhanced our experience of Cardiff, and we would be happy to stay there again.

We enjoyed the expeience. The room was excellent. It was so nice to have lots of space. If we have one negative comment it is that the mugs are too small!!!!!!!.

A Short Stay In CardiffMy family and I have been regular visitors to Cardiff over the last four years. We have stayed with Novotel Cardiff on three of these visits but we have also tried other Hotels depending on room availability. The advantages of staying with Novotel Cardiff are its central location, splendid gym/pool facilities and highly efficient staff. The car parking is useful but I begrudge having to pay for the privilege. Overall, other than the gym/pool, I found that Novotel Cardiff probably scored about the same as other Hotels in the area.

£10 for parking over night in a hotelnot very happy that I had to pay £10 to park in the hotel overnight, surely if your staying somewhere is common sense that you will need to park there, unfair charges wouldnt stay there again!!! The pool was nice!

excellent location, close to town centre, millenium stadium and cricket ground, would definitely use again, the only complaint was that they tried to charge me for breakfast when we hadn't had any!

Good sized room but with very small window. Nice bathroom and shower. Tea & coffee making facilities quite adequate. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Close to shops and facilities. One way system around Cardiff a bit of a nightmare.

Excellent service in a fantastic hotelWe booked two rooms for parents and ourselves to see the Speedway Grand Prix at Millennium Stadium. The hotel is only 15 minutes walk from the stadium so is in a great position. The service was excellent with friendly helpful staff ready to give directions and any local information. The rooms were also very good, clean airy and pleasantly decorated. The food was very good, but the main restuarant was shut at 9.30pm when we wanted to eat, so we had to eat in the bar. Overall a five star experience, well done Novatel!

Novotel CardiffHotel a bit tricky to find if you are not familiar with Cardiff, directions on web site seemed a little confusing. The car park is nicely situated, I am a bit funny at not being able to see the cars!!! Hotel is light, airy and has a lovely relaxed feel about it. Would def go back. Walk to centre is 10 minutes and out of the hustle and bustle of the town (we went for an event), could be a bit of a lonley walk back if it is a late return.

A good hotel, very pleasant stayI had stayed once before and reception staff were a bit snooty, this time though they were much much friendlier, only two things that were not so positive one was i got an email saying I'd checked out the next morning before I'd even left my room, so they key card wouldn;t work once I'd been for breakfast, and the valance round the bed base was a bit grubby and could do with changing a bit more often

No Complaintsa clean and comfortable hotel in a good city centre location with friendly staff who did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable

Quality of roomThe room was a fair standard but only as good as a modern premier inn in my opinion, it had nothing to set it apart.

Overnight stayGood walking distance to city centre - we walked to Millenium Stadium in 20 mins (with a buggy). Room was clean and excellent features. Staff were friendly and helpful. The only problem we had was parking the car initially but after waiting a while we were able to get a space.

novotel cardiff june 2009staff were lovely and welcoming, hotel nice and clean, bedroom we stayed in a bit dated but acceptable - didn't use the facilities as we were not there long enough. Only downside - could (as with all hotels in Cardiff) cater for the Welsh population and have Welsh speaking staff and sinage in hotel

One night in CardiffGoodd hotel and staff, very nice room, only 20 minute walk from Cardiff city centre. However, I booked months in advance and paid £165 room only for one night as there was an event on in Cardiff. I think it is ridiculously greedy for hotels to double their prices knowing accommodation will be in short supply when there is an event on - this often happens in Cardiff!

just stayed for 1 night taking our son to monster jam at the millenium stadium. Thought the room was excellent, clean and comfortable. Minibar prices are ridiculous. Enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi (free). Paid 15 pounds (total) for buffet breakfast for 2 adults and a child which was excellent. Would stay here again and would recommend to friends. Car park charge was annoying, surely the car park should be free to hotel guests.

ImpressedThe staff were friendly, helpful and informed so they could answer our queries easilly. The room was very spacious and we were impressed with the size and cleanliness of the bathroom (it had a shower cubicle and a full size bath with overhead shower). The beds were large and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and very good value for money. We would definitely consider staying again on our next visit to Cardiff.

Novotel, Cardiff City.I found the staff to be friendly and extreemly helpful during our stay. The hotel is well located allowing easy access to the major attractions within the city, whilst set in a quiet district ensuring a good night's sleep. Both the bar and restaurant are open long hours and parking is in a secure area directly adjacent to the hotel. We all enjoyed our stay at the Novotel and would definitely consider returning next time we visit the city.
