Late arrival - no problemHaving booked on the arrival day, and travelling from Devon we didn't arrive at the hotel until 10.45pm. Check-in was quick and easy and entering our comfortable room slept quite well. There is a little road noise but most of this is obscured by the tall hedges sheltering the hotel from the road.In the morning there was plenty of hot water for showers and enough towels were provided.Breakfast was OK, buffet style but I was expecting a little more choice. I was quite surprised as the white bread for toast was still frozen and had to be cooked twice!Overall as a stopover on our way to Yorkshire for a business meeting the hotel was good, and was an ideal place to stop as it wasn't far from M1.

Well refurbished, although our the room could have done with a good clean, especially the bathroom.

Sister's entire wedding was here so was expecting great things. Hotel had nice entryway, but then was bland and Hampton Inn like. No restaurants/pubs nearby, no outdoor areas (just a parking lot and busy road). Luckily was 3 mins walk from the tram. Staff were rude. Hotel was noisy (drunk people banged on our doors at 4am). If you stay on Fri/Sat, make sure not over function room as parties will rattle your room til 1am. Bathrooms mouldy/cracked, no water pressure for morning shower and sink tap/faucet fell off. Rooms were a good size, bed great, English breakfast very good.

Good stop off for NottinghamThhotel is well sited between junction 26 of the M1 and Nottingham City centre. There is a direct tram from the hotel to the centre where parkingis limited. The staff could be a lot livelier and that would considerably enhance the quality.

Dont go hereWhen I went to the room that I had been allocated I found the bed not to be made and the room in a state so I returned to reception unforyunatly it was unmaned and after waiting ten minutes I had to go to the bar to summon some assitance eventually I was given a new room but unfortunatly as the hotel caters for studants at the local collage I was placed in an area full of students all with the idea that lifes just one long party and that going to sleep before the early hours is not exceptable. I would have complained but after my earler experance I felt it would be pointless

Comments on Nottingham Gateway HotelI am a particularly fussy person when it comes to cleanliness and the room and bathroom met with my approval. The bedroom was comfortable and the shower was nice and powerful. The restaurant for breakfast was welcoming and clean although the food could have been a little better. Overall, however, I thought it was extremely good value for money and would have no hesitation in staying there again or in recommending it to friends.

Very good value through Laterooms Great breakfastRooms not what was requested through Laterooms; had asked for one room suitable for wheelhair user or at least ok for for someone on crutches. Got ordinary room. Access to restaurant for breakfast was good and the help offered by staff very good. The food was good and plentiful. Free WIFI was advertised but was not available. I think they were working on it.

Good value hotel, convenient access from M1We were a little worried about the quality of the rooms having read poor reviews, but had a comfortable night's sleep as the mattresses were fine. There were a number of celebrations in the hotel - five stag parties and a wedding, so you may find your sleep disturbed by rowdy guests which could be a problem. We were lucky! Most of our corridor was taken up by a group dressed as Robin Hood's Merry Men. Although they woke us, they did not make a huge amount of noise when they came in at 4.30am. Breakfast was good with a wide range of hot and cold items. Good public areas to relax, with large screen TV and children's indoor play area.

Hotel roombwas extremely warm, when you lay on the bed you rolled straight into the middle of it, covers were not of the best quality. didn't sleep well due to noisiness of other guests. great location though, just on the edge of town, easy hotel to find.

An OK hotel, though not particularly memorableDecent enough hotel; staff tried hard. The internet connection in the room did not work at first but they were quick to fix it for me. Good breakfast too. A little far out of town, calling for a taxi ride to visit the pubs etc. But certainly at around 50ukp for a twin it was a bargain.

Booked as last minute as physically possible. Booked last minutes - got in car and went!Overall quality was OK, but not amazing. Room smelled as if a team of sweaty teenagers had been in there for a week with no bath!Food was good though, and our six-year-old daughter enjoyed watching the new goslings and moorhen chicks from the restaurant windows!

Good value for money. Checked bill on departure to find that additional items had been placed on it. Staff were helpful and sorted out the problem quickly.

Poor quality beds!After a long journey with a 1 year old we were looking forward to a good nights sleep. When we got into the bed we both rolled into the middle, the bed was that bad it was like climbing a mountain to try & get out!!! So my partner decided she would sleep in the single bed making it more comfortable for us both wrong!! The single bed was as bad. So neither off us got much sleep & both suffered with bad backs the next day. When we were leaving we told the girl on the desk & it was as much as she could do to grunt something not even an apology. It's a shame as everything else was ok.

Gateway QualityDue to traffic arrived late but staff helpful and easy going. Room excellent and booking a table for dinner was no problem. My wife and I will definitely being staying there again.

Abba Tribute NiteThings started off poorly. Receptionists didn't exactly fall over themselves to welcome us and they took ages to find our booking. However our room was fab. Really large and spacious and very well decorated. Enormous bathroom too with his 'n' hers sinks. Quite impressive really. We were there for an all-inclusive Abba tribute nite as part of a friend's birthday celebrations. This included a 3-course meal which was mediocre - no more than that. Drinks were supposed to be all-inclusive between 8 and 10.30 but the queues at the bar were so long many of our party didn't bother. So a bit of a rip-off really. However, it was overall a really great evening and I would recommend it. Definitely would not recommend the breakfast - very poor quality indeed. One of the worst I've ever had. I've stayed and eaten at this hotel lots of times before and it has definitely gone down hill.

Comfortable, clean and convenient accommodation at a very affordable costWe came to Nottingham for a funeral. We had to bring our 2 dogs as, because of the short notice all local kennels were full ,and were therefore very glad that pets were welcome.The room was spacious, clean and well equipped - bathroom OK .Buffet breakfast was fine - plenty of choice and plenty of it. Did not arrive early enough to sample dinner.We were pleased to see security guards in the carpark, as having lived in Nottingham, we knew that there could be problems with local youths.We would happily stay at the Gateway again and would recommend it to friends and colleagues .

At breakfast tea provided in thermos flask and it was tainted (with coffee?) and we had to keep getting up to get more....far better to provide tea pots.Also the room No 132 smelt of stale smoke..... quite a put off. However since our last visit food presentation and quality at dinner was much better.The location is excellent as its a short walk to the tram stop. Good parking. Close to motorway. Nottingham has excellent shops and facilities.
