We were assigned to a room on the ground floor which is very distrubing at night because the room is facing the street. We had to close the window when sleep.

Have stayed here before. Staff friendly but poor soundproofing of rooms very apparent with noisy guests late at night. Breakfast appalling. There is no excuse for stale bread in Paris. Good location but doubt I'll be staying here again.

we (3 person) booked a triple room, but actually it is just a double room with a folding bed. And when we just arrived, the room seems to be OK. When you check the bed sheet, it is covered with some hairs and dead body of worm, and it is with holes! The first night, we found out the sewer of the shower is blocked, it took half hour or one hour to let the little water out. So we can only wash ourselves shortly, and wait a whole evening to take showers! The next day, we ask the reception, the 1st sentence he said: it must be your long hair to make this happen. and later on, the problem is never solved.

Better than a youth hostel; for paris it's usual - you can not expect much. It is located 2 min to the station 'Place de Republique', what is quite central also to take the bus for at sight seeing tour (round line)

Poor experience. We have been visiting (4 people and a baby - two rooms) for two days and the conditions in the rooms were very poor. The beds, pilows, blankets - all very old and unconfortable. Ibis rooms are much better for example. Our rooms were very small, cold and drafty and the heating was not working properly. Moreover we got rooms on the sixth (last) floor and they seemed unused for some time and dusty, not to mention the extremely tiny old elevator. Parking or even stopping the car in the hotel area is nearly impossible. Still, an underground paid parking lot is available at around 200 meters away. On the bright side the personeel seemed very nice and supportive. Still we will never visit the Notre Dame Hotel Paris again.

I know it was recommended in "Great Sleeps Paris." Very noisy & toenail clippings on the floor. Try for a hostel instead if you're short on cash.

I'm a frequent traveler to Paris and know the area well. This was a great stay in a fine area. Wouldn't recommend it for a romantic get-a-way or honeymoon, but for me, traveling solo for a short stay, this was a perfect place to stay. The staff was friendly enough. The accommodations were fine. I found the cleaning staff to be the friendliest (complete opposite of a different reviewer's comment). The only small issue is that Rue de Malte is one street but is separated by a large street so my taxi driver had some difficulty dropping me off on the one way street. Close to the Metro. Great hair salon X the street. Bathroom was clean. No English speaking TV stations at all. Highly recommended.

A localização é excelente. Muito perto do metro e é possível fazer andar a pé desde a Opera até ao hotel. A rua onde está o hotel é muito calma. Não escolhi o pequeno almoço (preço à parte) mas existem muitos cafés ao lado do hotel. Recomendo.

The hotel is located on the narrow street de Malte in the 11th district, a few hundred metres from the Republique or Oberkampf metro stations. The location is ok: the street is not noisy and the rooms have PVC windows. It is within a walking distance (some 15-20 min) from Les Halles, Marais and a tad farther to the Louvre. As to the interior, it is a standard Parisian two-star hotel – tiny rooms, relatively modern amenities, shabby furniture. At 66.50 EUR for a double room with en-suite facilities (i.e. private WC and shower) it offered a reasonable value-for-money deal. However, their hygiene standards leave much to be desired: the towels were so yellow and worn out that they looked more like torn rags and it made me wonder whether it was safe to use them. I did not pack a hair dryer, relying on the information on the web-site advertising its availability “on request”. To my astonishment, when I asked for it, the receptionist retorted that I could only have it for a short while because… they only had one for the entire hotel!! I could hardly believe it – they charge seventy euros a night and they could not procure enough cheap hair-dryers for everyone to use. Astounding greed! I ended up buying my own at a corner shop for 15 euros. Otherwise, the stay was uneventful.
