See belowThrough no fault of their own I never got a chance to sample the food on offer so I can't comment on this. The thing I don't understand is, when I was given my key and told my room number I went straight there, and found a suitcase in the room. When I phoned reception to let them know I looked at my key again and saw It was for a different room number than I'd been told however it opened both doors. They will need to invest in some new locks I think.

Little disappointed Let say from the outset that this is a nice hotel, close to Aberdeen city centre and it is in immaculate condition in terms of furnishing and décor. It is very a comfortable stay. Also the staff were very polite and helpful, if perhaps a bit inexperienced and lacking supervision or leadership. Now let be clear, I have only stayed one night therefore I may have just been there on an off day.I went for a bar meal and as the bar was busy was told I could have the meal in the Library. The only problem was I kind of got forgotten about so after 45 minutes I had to re-order my meal. As I had an early start I was down for breakfast at 6:30am, which seemed to catch them out a wee bit. Finally they took my breakfast order, which was only bacon, which I would have had in my toast. Now I wasn’t offered a choice of tea or coffee so I assumed they would bring both to give the option but sadly no. Nor was I offered toast so assumed it was supply automatically, again sadly no. As I was too rushed to do anything about it I ate the bacon and left.The TV gave a poor reception on most of the channelsI booked through late rooms so didn’t pay full price for the room which I think would have been over £200, if I had have paid that I would have more than a little disappointed.

Tasteful restorationA very real feel--solid and comfortable.Seven acres of quiet woodland meant peace although the walks were too steep and dangerous for my age group however there are plenty of beautiful parks within 2-3 miles

Fabulous hotel....room was lovely....dissappointed that i had no hot water for my Shower or washing on the second day....but overall excellent.

We were attending a wedding at the hotel, we were allowed to check in early so we could change which was very much appreciated. The whole day was 1st class!

Anniversary weekend awayDecided on this hotel, set in lovely grounds, as a special anniversary weekend away. The staff were excellent - welcoming, cheerful and friendly. We paid a little extra for an upgrade and got room 1, a bridal suite. Lovely room, good furnishings, comfortable bed, great bathroom - 1 small soap, 1 conditioner and 1 shampoo - poor and mean for 4* quality. Had to ask for more the following morning. Dinner and breakfast fairly good. Downside - weddings on both nights taking over all the public areas, smoking at the entrance and loud disco music until 1am on the Saturday evening so audible that I could sing along from my room. Not recommended if you want a quiet getaway

Value for moneyWe got a great deal from LateRooms for this hotel and when we arrived we were asked if we would like an upgrade to an executive room for a very small fee which was great. The hotel was nice and clean and set in lovely grounds but also close to City Centre if needed. Would recommend this hotel but don't know if I would have paid full price.

Old country house hotelWe loved the atmosphere of the old country house hotel, the bar meal was excellant as was our breakfast. Due to the price we paid through laterooms, it was really good value for money and at that price we would stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as it was finale to a wedding held there on 16 May 2009. As we live in Aberdeen we don't seem to enjoy our own hotels on our doorstep often enouh.

Booking stated that there was modem access in every room. However, turned out that only the suites or executive rooms have internet access. Only other areas are the public rooms - not the best places to do some work.Hotel was okay - but didn't like up to expectations.

Lovely grounds. Beautiful building, tastefully decorated and sympathetically restored.My laterooms booking had not yet been processed by the time I arrived at the hotel but the hotel staff were calm and efficient and upgraded me immediately as they claimed it was their fault.

Not a 4 Star HotelTired old house that needs redecorated. It was an ok stay but not what you would expect from a 4star hotel. Restaurant staff very unfriendly! Basic room which was comfortable, a little too warm but couldn't adjust temp as thermostat adjustment nobs missing from radiators. £2 to pay by credit card!

dinner was overpriced and not value for money - mushroom soup was bland, main course average, I asked for a glass of still water and got a large bottle in an ice bucket for £3.50 - two course meal with small glass of wine was £38!
