The hotel was very convenient for us as we wanted to be close to the Busarus Terminal. Our room was adequate, the staff competent and the breakfast okay. I'd stay there again.

Reasonably easy to find and had the benefit of a car park. 10 min walk to O'Connell St. The food in the restaurant was basic but ok nothing to rave about and quite large portions. Checking in took some time as only 1 member of staff on duty but they were busy.

We were disappointed in not having lift access. And cleaning staff opened the door on us at 10.00am before we were presentable.

Friendly staff and the best part of all was Kiernan, the Concierge. He is a wonderful resource for information, e.g., where to go, what to see, planning side trips and making the arrangements. Our first time in Dublin was greatly enhanced by his knowledge and willingness to help. We chose this hotel blindly off the internet because of its proximity to the bus and train, and in particular the fact that the bar is to the side of the hotel and not directly under the rooms, thus making it quiet. The train does run directly over the reception area, but we didn't hear it in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

Overall I was happy with my stay in the hotel. The only difficulty I had was that the door did not lock and there was definetely a problem with a fuse, as a result the televsion did not work. As I did not want to change rooms I did not mention the problems untilI was checking out. The room was very spacious, the location was excellent. The staff at reception were very helpful and I was able to leave my bags in the hotel for the morning while I attended a meeting. Overall for the price that I paid for the rom I was more than happy with it

Very good value (65 for the night), great location. Adjacent from Connolly Station, if you are a light sleeper this might be a bad location for you. Couldn't fault it. Would stay here again.

If you are unluckly enought to get a room in the front of the hotel, you wil hear and feel the train go buy frequently. Ask for a room in the back by the parking lot. It's not in a great part of town, so safety is a concern in the late hours. The bar/restaurants were fair, not good. The staff was nice though and most of them went out of their way to help. The food in Ireland overall is bad, so sending yourself a care package from the states beforehand would be a great idea. Good travels to you.

This hotel was ok. It's about a 10min walk to the main street in Dublin. The rooms are small but nicely renovated. No air conditioning and a bit noisy from the train and traffic. We were on the first floor which didn't help the noise problem. Would recommend it for a short stay in Dublin.

| Lovely place, trains were beside the place so it was quite noisy. Rooms were small and compact but had everything you needed, locks on the doors weren't enough to keep the maids from coming in without knocking, everyone was nice/kind and helpful.
Would stay again. |

I stayed at the North Star recently and did not really expect to much but was pleasantly surprised. It is very convenient to all everything you would ever need in the city. It is right next to the main bus terminal, across the street from a train terminal, a tram runs almost outside the door and the staff are so friendly. What more could we ask for. The bar was lovely and lively and enjoyed some delicious pub food served by a bartender called Seamus. Talk about irish hospitality. We will definitely be back next time we visit Dublin.

Good Hotel Centrally located, clean, and friendly staff, and a decent bar, ideal base to explore Dublin. I have seeen a few people complian about it, espcially on other web sites, all I can say If your looking for luxury then pay more, i.e the going rate for a luxury hotel, it seems nowadays people expect five star luxury in city hotels for two star prices, if you want a decent three star hotel, then this is fine. I expect people who complain about this Hotel, are not frequent travellers, and watch too much TV !!!

Staff was nice, but hotel is not in the best location for tourists visiting Dublin. Hotel was old, no elevator, across from train/bus station that drew undesirable element, and carpet in hotel was in dire need of cleaning. I would not stay here again.

To be fair, the hotel was undergoing renovation/construction during our stay. There were no lifts available upon entering the hotel entrance and it was necessary to climb several stairs to reach reception. Due to moderate rain on the evening of our arrival, we awoke next morning to find the hallway carpets saturated and with an unpleasant smell. Overall I was disappointed with the hotel and would not want to stay there again.

We arrived late and when we checked in we wanted to pay the accomodation but were informed that the hotel would not accept the card type which I had. There was no mention of this on the hotels details. Whilst checking-in the hotel was shaking due to the train passing next to the hotel. The bedroom was resonable size and bathroom was ok. We went down to the restaurant within the hours which are in the hotel welcome pack & were informed that the restaurant had closed which we were dissapointed. This hotel would be ok for business travellers who want a hotel on the cheap.

Situated next to railway line, the whole hotel shudders as trains go by each 10 -15 minutes. Windows not glazed so you can hear traffic all day and night or trains till 0100. Stairs to reception and rooms - no assistance offered with baggage. Towels were minute and cups had not been cleaned. No airconditioning, heating turned way too high - you have to open the window for fresh(?) air - see above re noise... Floorboards creak EVERY time someone walks the corridor
