The Bianconi Restaurant stands tall among its competitors, offering a fine display of cuisine to please even the most discerning palate. Its theme is the history of stagecoach and Connolly Train Station which historical main entrance is located directly opposite. The bar/pub food attracts people for lunch and dinner. The Beer Garden is a contemporary, state of the art smoking area which has been developed beneath the train arch at the rear of McCoy's Bar to include heaters, comfortable seating and a flat screen TV.

Went over with myself & daughter. No pool and the fitness center closed too early. Hotel itself was clean & comfortable as long as you were towards the back parking lot since the trains rattle the front of the hotel. The parking was 2 Euro/hour or 7 Euro/day. The daily rate was not too bad. Maybe this is just an Irish thing, but the faucets in the bathroom sink were separate hot & cold so if you wanted to wash your face, you had to go back & forth with your hands from scalding to freezing to rinse. No wash clothes were provided. We asked for a "Wash cloth" and they started telling us how they send out their laundry to get washed. We spoke the same language, but not really. Never saw anyone at the conceirge desk the whole stay and never saw Kiernan from their website. I think he might be an elusive leprechaun :)

We had an excellent stay. The food was fantastic and the entertainment in the bar and the beer garden was great. The car park meant we didnt spend our time worrying about it. Would recommend it. Directly opposite Connolly station, the luas line and Dart with Bus depot around the corner, couldnt be handier.

Great Hotel close to everything in DublinCentrallyh located hotel - very close to central bus station and across road from Connolly Station. Very friendly and attentive staff - great food - air conditioning a bit noisy but everything else made up for it. Only stayed for one night but would recommend and stay again.

Our room upon check-in was small, no air conditioning, no fan, rock hard bed, no hot water! Just outside the only window was a train station, roaring trains and actual shaking of the bed and furniture all night long. Upon complaining the next morning, we were moved to a much nicer room. If the first romm is an indication of how Orbitz customers are treated, I would think twice about booking through Orbitz again. On the plus side, it is convenient to restaurants, bus stops, and Tmple Bar area. Don't miss that!

Very good value (€65 for the night), great location. Adjacent from Connolly Station, if you are a light sleeper this might be a bad location for you. Couldn't fault it. Would stay here again.

Comfortable, friendly atmosphere; exercise room fairly well euipped with flexible hours (sometimes). I was very satisfied and would certainly return.

Friendly staff and the best part of all was Kiernan, the Concierge. He is a wonderful resource for information, e.g., where to go, what to see, planning side trips and making the arrangements. Our first time in Dublin was greatly enhanced by his knowledge and willingness to help. We chose this hotel blindly off the internet because of its proximity to the bus and train, and in particular the fact that the bar is to the side of the hotel and not directly under the rooms, thus making it quiet. The train does run directly over the reception area, but we didn't hear it in the room. I would definitely stay here again.

efficientA practical place where people are doing everything is possible to make u feel comfortable. We did not stay much in the room, we were sightseeing, and all over the place in Dublin, but the room was big enough and had all the necessary comfort. We had a voucher for dinner in the Bianconi restaurant, the dinner was delicious and the waitress was very attentive. The location is central, the hotel looks nice, all in one a good place to stay.

Good location, close to bus lines, close to city center.

Staff were very friendly. You wouldn't be staying there if its luxury your after, but for a night or two in Dublin on buisness its ideal.

The old saying 'you get what you pay for' is particulally relevant here! The single room I occupied here was very small indeed, the shower (no bath)/toilet was miniscule, and the floor slanted; the trains outside the window (single glazing!) traveling over the rail join caused vibration in the room. On the good side, the hotel is very close to the main bus depot, Connelly Rail station, the tram terminus, and a few blocks from the main street; it also has an airport shuttle bus stop outside the front door. If you are on a budget and prepared for the shortcomings, then this is the place for you!

If you are unluckly enought to get a room in the front of the hotel, you wil hear and feel the train go buy frequently. Ask for a room in the back by the parking lot. It's not in a great part of town, so safety is a concern in the late hours. The bar/restaurants were fair, not good. The staff was nice though and most of them went out of their way to help. The food in Ireland overall is bad, so sending yourself a care package from the states beforehand would be a great idea. Good travels to you.

Great Value and a Fantastic LocationMy girlfriend and I stayed here the other week and we will definitley be back to the hotel. The hotel has a great location, you can walk to all the main attractions and also to bar's and restaurants in the evening. The staff are very friendly giving us directions and one of the evenings we ate in the restuarant in the hotel and the food was great, good value aswell.I think the hotel is suitable for almost anyone and I'd reccomend paying the upgrade charge to one of their new rooms as we did this and it was well worth it.

The Executive Level room describes WiFi as included in the room. Upon arrival I was asked to pay an extra 14 euros per day for such access!

We were disappointed in not having lift access. And cleaning staff opened the door on us at 10.00am before we were presentable.

This hotel was ok. It's about a 10min walk to the main street in Dublin. The rooms are small but nicely renovated. No air conditioning and a bit noisy from the train and traffic. We were on the first floor which didn't help the noise problem. Would recommend it for a short stay in Dublin.

I stayed at the North Star recently and did not really expect to much but was pleasantly surprised. It is very convenient to all everything you would ever need in the city. It is right next to the main bus terminal, across the street from a train terminal, a tram runs almost outside the door and the staff are so friendly. What more could we ask for. The bar was lovely and lively and enjoyed some delicious pub food served by a bartender called Seamus. Talk about irish hospitality. We will definitely be back next time we visit Dublin.

Best Dublin Hotel Ever !!!This is the best hotel i have stayed in for a very long while. Everything was 1st class from start to finish. I'll be back to the North Star again next time I'm in Dublin.

The Northstar Hotel was an easy 10-15 minute walk from Temple Bar and many of the other sites we wanted to visit. It is also very near the financial center, and being on the north side of the Liffy, it was easy to get to and from the airport. The gym was better than most I have found in Europe. I particularly liked the noon-time check-out policy which is much better than the typical 11:00 policy imposed by many hotels. I would definatly stay at the Northstar again.

Good Hotel Centrally located, clean, and friendly staff, and a decent bar, ideal base to explore Dublin. I have seeen a few people complian about it, espcially on other web sites, all I can say If your looking for luxury then pay more, i.e the going rate for a luxury hotel, it seems nowadays people expect five star luxury in city hotels for two star prices, if you want a decent three star hotel, then this is fine. I expect people who complain about this Hotel, are not frequent travellers, and watch too much TV !!!
