The room was extremely small, old furniture, the bathroom had old equipments. the shower rose was with full of alga. The building is very nice, elegant, I would give only two stars to this Hotel. But it is true that its location is perfect!!!

At first I wasn't sure to stay in this hotel because of the feedbacks I read, but I took the risk and I don't regret. The service is excellent, the room is also good (very good) for a city like Paris, where space is something that rarely you have. The personel always was competent and very kindful. The location is great and near to metro, bus, night-bus and also bicycle stations; everything is near. Definetly I will return to this hotel.

The lobby area and lounge are attractive. The room and bathroom were spacious considering that this is an old hotel in the city centre. But they are definitely in need of refurbishment( painting, new carpet and curtains). However the bed was very comfortable, the room and bathrooom clean. Bathroom had a big window, two sinks, shower with good pressure, plenty of room for toiletries and heated towel rail. Service and staff were very good and friendly, breakfast more than adequate. We would definitely stay there again. The location is fantastic.

I stayed one night at the hotel. What was suprising was the very bad state of the rooms that is in contrast to the rest of the hotel, i.e. the lobby, the exterieur, and, of course, the 4-star price. The rooms need a complete renovation, new paint, new bathrooms, etc. At several places, for instance, the wall paint is coming off, it really looks lowclass. The breakfast also leaves a lot to improve: different kinds of cutlery all mixed up, bad omelette, etc. The otherwise architecturally beautiful breakfast hall is spoiled by the incredibly bad taste discolamps that are brutally attached to the walls. In sum: this hotel has a lot of potential, but it badly needs a new owner with a vision and an understanding of elegance and class! Don't stay at this hotel if you really look for 4-star comfort in this great, central area of Paris.

Suggested 100%! To be honest, I don't know how the standard double room are because I've upgraded to a superior double room without any overcharge. The quality/price ratio was excellent for I made a reservation 3 months in advance. The full price of the superior double room is out of my possibility...

Great location - 1 minute walk to the Louvre and Palais Royale - two metro lines close as well so easy to get anywhere. I found it to be a nice hotel at a reasonable price in a great location.

Very convenient access to the Metro at the Louvre or Tuileries. My room was extremely big, but not sure if that corresponds to all others. Staff was excellent and very accomodating, letting me check my bag for the weekend while I went out of town on a sight-seeing trip. I ate breakfast one day and thought it was a little above average. The only negative: the air conditioner was a stand-alone unit in the room with an exhaust hose that had to be stuck out the window (blew very hot air from the exhaust) and the unit was extremely noisy.

A good location for tourists and a grand old building with efficient staff. The rooms, though large for Paris, are a disappointment and seem to be in need of refurbishment (particularly the bathrooms) This hotel is fine as a base for sightseeing but not the one for a romantic getaway

Très bien situé à deux pas du Louvre. Mais cela ne justifie pas le prix excessif. Chambre et salle de bain vétuste.

We have up-graded to suite room #602, wonderful spacious and quietness due to top floor. Room was located a bit far from elevator, if had big lugages it will be small problem. But we are very sure of coming back this hotel in this season.

we enjoyed our stay at the Normandy Hotel. Location was great. Room was clean. One evening a staff member came to our door to make sure that the room was to our satisfaction, regarding the upkeep and housekeeping. Concierge staff were very helpful with any questions we had.

The location is the best feature of this hotel. It is close to many bistros, cafes, and the Louvre. The rooms certainly did not reflect what was pictured on the website. The beds were so low, they were almost on the floor. Note that the rooms do not have air conditioning. This is true of most of the older hotels in Paris. The concierge was extremely rude and unwilling to help. I asked him to secure a cab and he told me to stand outside (with my luggage in the rain!) to get one. I asked him again to call for a cab and he was very annoyed and just plain mean. One other complaint, the hotel did not have wash cloths. The hotel also advertised that it had internet access in the lobby. Not true. When I asked the concierge where to find an internet cafe, he sent me and my senior citizen mother on a wild goose chase. We never did find it. Surprisingly, a frenchmen on the street helped us find one just one block from the hotel. Now why wasn't the concierge aware of this internet cafe...that is part of his job.

Very nice if this price. But very noisy every morning due to location. Very good concierge, good breakfast. It's satisfied.

I would never stay in this hotel again. The staff was incompetant to the point of insanity. Wasn't told that I had a complimentary breakfast. Room was dirty. Maids didn't obey the "Do Not Disturb" sign. The maids cackled like hens even after I complained to the staff. Asked for a Cab to be called the night before that took credit cards and got one that only took cash. Tried to get a pack of smokes from the bar on my room tab and was told that because they had closed the books I'd have to pay cash. Maybe it is Europe in general... but the staff at the hotel needs to come to the United States to be trained in Customer Service. I will never stay at this hotel again. Noisey, incompetant, dirty and way to expensive for the service provided. I wish there was a Motel 6 in Paris as I'd rather stay there than the Hotel Normandy.

The welcome at reception was efficient but not particularly friendly. On the first night I asked for an interim bill and was given one. However, when I checked out on the last night and asked for a detailed invoice for tax purposes, I was refused one and told I would have to ask the internet booking service for one. When I hailed a taxi outside the hotel to go to the airport the driver was accosted by the concierge who rushed him inside for a conversation before I was allowed in the taxi. When the driver returned and I got in the taxi a charge of 10 Euro had mysteriously appeared on the meter. I refused to pay and because I had a flight to catch, eventually had to agree to a concierge commission charge (I assume a result of the conversation with the concierge) of 5 Euro. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The Normandy is minutes away from the Louvre and the Metro - this is the reason why I chose this property. Check-in and check-out were relatively fast, once it was my turn. The person at the reception desk asked if I needed help with my luggage, to which I responded no because I wanted to be on my way. However, I would have expected such service automatically from a 4-star hotel, particularly since I had 2 large pieces of luggage. Upon reaching my room, I discovered the key did not work. I had to leave my large luggage outside my room to go back downstairs to see about the problem. Fortunately, it was a programming issue and was resolved quickly. The room was small, although not excessively by Paris standards, and sparingly decorated; but it was clean and neat. The windows opened to the courtyard, so there was not much of a view. The bathroom was surprisingly spacious. The hotel had 2 elevators but one needed to use stairs to access one's room beyond the elevator (for some). If the staff had informed me, I would have requested help with my luggage. The hallways were lit with red and green lights, which seemed strange. There is one computer with internet access outside the breakfast room available for a fee. The housekeeping staff was very nice. The reception staff were a mixed bag; some were more helpful and friendlier than others. When the taxi arrived on the morning of my departure, I was left to carry my bags out on my own. I would return to the Normandy because of its excellent location. However, the next time I am in the 1er Arr., I would likely try another hotel.

This is our second to this hotel in twelve months. It is ideally located in central Paris. the staff are always very welcoming and helpful. I have recommended this hotel to many of my friends. I shall use the Normandy again for my next visit to Paris.

Un accueil pas aimable. Un service durant le petit déjeuner peu satisfaisant. Des chambres bruyantes et le service de chambre qui vient réveiller le matin à 9h.
