rain spoiled the stay.however hotel was warm and decently furnished, with nice fire in lounge.now the bad stuff, the head waiter was staring at my breasts whenever he came to my table, and they had to keep sending out for more food, not very impressive, and he is rude to his staff, and needs to learn how to talk to guests in the correct manner,he even draped his jacket over a chair when a couple were still sat at the table.room was nice and clean, the floors creak a little but adds to the age.bar staff were polite and cheery.never saw the day porters and when i did he just walked by.the night porter was very friendly and charmingly flirty, and always made sure i was comfortable whenever he passed me.polite and he was nice to engage in conversation.enjoyed the larger part of the stay and will return

didnt like the fact that i had to carry my own luggage to the room while the porter chatted to the receptionist about her son.but the room was nice, with a good view.the bar was empty for most of the day and night.the late night staff were 1st class and professional, and we spent a few hours in the bar when we returned from clubbing, which the head night guy sorted out for my partner, and we sat by the fire, which was really nice in the dimmed lights.again the night staff were entertaining and helpful in getting us room service(which they did)short staff i guess.but not a bad hotel, the 4 star is debatable.

Nice Hotel, centrally located, clean and tidy. Because it is an old hotel the floors were rather creaky.

So So HotelOnly having one night at the hotel I can't give a full opinion but at £150 for a night I did not expect the following:No check in until 3pm...Breakfast running out of bread, bacon & Juice... when juice did finally arrive it was very warm. Can of coke from fridge in room costing £3...Other than that, nice building, good location and room very well appointed.

Breakfast was busy, most guests arriving at the same time. Management need to train staff to clear and re-set tables quicker and kitchen staff need to ensure food doesn't run out and plates are available!

Too many add ons eg £12 to park the car £2 plus for 200ml bottle of Coke Nice room at the front but v nisy nightclub opposite until very late so not much sleep with the lights/noise

My room was 108 which is next to the car park gates. When they open and close they are very noisy.....my room was next to a fire excape door which the staff insisted on slamming at all times to the point I had to complain (which I never do) needless to say I did not get much sleep. My key card did not work 3 times including the time I had to carry all my luggage to my room! The could not park in the car park as the couple of spaces that were left were too small for me to get into so I used the NCP up the road which works out cheaper if you are staying a couple of nights. My room was lovely, the hotel is very central and the staff friendly - just wished I had got more sleep!!!!! Just make sure your room is not that end and you will have a lovely stay.

Nice hotel, excellent location with friendlystaff.I stayed on the third floor, where everything was pleasant except the noisy utility lift located nearby - which made a horrible noise every time it was used, which was every 5 minutes.

Service was impeccable and staff very friendly and welcoming. The pool was a little small but we were lucky to be there alone. The building is beautiful and very well kept. The room was very well located and stunningly furnished.

Very friendly and helpful ladies on reception and rest of staff too.Excellent central location for the town just about 100 yards from main shopping street and another 200 yards down the chine gardens to the pier & seafront.Good English-style buffet breakfast. Dinner is very good but expensive - especially if deviating from the standard selection and the minimum cost for wine was £17.50 for half-bottle of house wine - nothing by the glass.Car parking is essential for drivers and costs £12/day so remember to factor it into the overall room rate.Comfortable beds but duvets and rooms are too hot (in winter) so open all windows on arrival.

this hotel was excellent in every way. the location; the food; the room; the service; the facilities; the atmosphere; the cleanliness; everything. We have stayed in many, many hotels all over the UK and mainland europe and this was at least as good as any other. (Pity about the weather !).

I cannot praise the quality of the Norfolk Royale Hotel in Bournemouth enough. The staff were always curteous happy and smiling and nothing was too much trouble. Rooms although decorated in an older style were clean and well kept. The food was a delight to eat being well cooked from a varied menu. The bar was reopened for us by the night staff till late. The location of the hotel is perfectly central to the town and an easy walk to the beach. If I come to Bournemouth again next year for the weekend, and it's looking likely, I will definately be booking through \"laterooms\" looking for another deal and another great time.

The pros : Good location, friendly staff, safe family feel hotel with no 'hoodies' or young crowds of yobs... The cons : Decor in rooms was too dated, bathrooms were old and a bit small, swimming pool was way too small, and steam room was a bit smelly and not 100% clean. However, if you are planning on spending most of the day out shopping, on the beach, in the bars or nights in the clubs, then you could do alot worse than this place... location is fantastic - about 45 secs from the main shopping centre and a short 5 mins walk to the beach ! Plus on the day we left, they were beginning work on their new '2nd floor Club rooms' which are apparently going to be much more modern ! Lets see....
