Superb roomsEverything about this hotel was impressive. Courteous friendly service. Above all, the vast bedroom was beautifully and tastefully furnished and the 'twin' bed was triple size and extremely comfortable. Altogether, my wife and I thought it vastly superor to most 5 star hotels we have experienced.

beautiful location, pleasant large room, food reasonable but bit overpriced for what it is stunning location, large room but carpet was slightly dirty also only a travel kettle in room which took an age to boil. The food was tasty but was overpriced for the pub grub it was. However had lovely stay thanks to location and view.

norfolk armsWe specified a twin bedded room. We were again given a double. This was corrected within the hour but the beds appeared to have been made up by amateurs. The carpet needed a vacuum. The evening meals (for five) were a disaster and were rejected as unacceptable. This was agreed with the duty manager who apologised profusely and we were given a voucher to stay free for another night. We were informed that a sequence of unfortunate circumstances were responsible for the very poor food. This was apparently an isolated incident. We are going to take up the offer of one free nights accommodation soon.

A handy stopover and a good base for SheffieldThere is a good friendly welcome from the staff. The rooms are comfortable with good storage and hanging space. Our first room was very large. On our second stay the room was smaller but larger than most hotel rooms. We use it as a base for Sheffield. Others use it as a base for walking in the Peak District.Thjere is a very homely atmosphere.

One Night Get-AwayWe had a lovely stay here, the staff were enormously helpful and friendly and the hotel itself was really nice. They serve decent pub food and the location is remote and green. The room was clean, light and very spacious. A really lovely place to spend time and perfect for a quiet, romantic weekend!

The room was booked as a romantic getaway for valentines day in a quite country hotel which it was until a private party started below our room blasting music out until 11.45pm, took the edge off slightly. Hotel was lovely though with log fires and lovely food. A little more thought would have prevented this if they had put the people in the private function in our room and us at the rear of the hotel away from the noise.

A relaxed, stylish and comfortable pub with a great location. It is close to town whilst being on the very edge of the National Park. It feels remote but isn't. During the week there is a bus service to the city centre from outside the pub. It has been tastefully redeveloped, the rooms are good and it retains it character. The staff are very pleasant indeed.

We had asked for a twin bedded room. When we arrived we found we had a double bed. This was soon rectified within minutes. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms quiet, warm and well appointed. A verry happy stay.

Genuinely friendly staff and comfortable rooms with fairly priced, if a little un-imaginative food.

The room was ok but very poor plastic beakers in bathroom not good. No shaving facility in the room - blocked off. Also bath mat and shower curtain had seen better days.Preferred brekfast in the dining room not the bar arera.

The bedrooms were cold when we arrived which was resolved by closing the windows and turning on the heating.Service at breakfast was very slow.Otherwise every other aspect was better than expected.

The staff were very efficient and incredibly helpful Im only sorry I was in a rush and didnt get to spend more time while visiting sheffield. Andrew very helpful and nothing was too much trouble- the small details make or break places and at the Norfolk they were exemplary. Woul definitely go back maybe for leisure.

Only issues I had were the internet in the room didn't work at all. A colleague in a different room also had issues and couldn't get it to work. Also when it came to check out the receptionist tried to charge me more than the agreed amount. She didn't believe me when I shown her my confirmation email and had to go and ask a manager if they would price match, which they did.

Hotel was very convenient for our needs. The down side was there were a group of four youngish men on the 2nd night of three who were very noisy in and out of their rooms and on the third night a group of four road workers (we think) were alowed to use really bad language in the bar and were not checked. Fortunately there were only ourselves and another couple in the bar at that time.

In a lovely countryside location. Minor issue with the room - carpet wet from cleaning and the tea/coffee tray clearly hadnt been checked or replenished. Other than that, the room was comfortable and warm. As other reviewers had warned of slow service at breakfast, we were prepared for a leisurely morning but we found the breakfast was served quickly - it was very tasty with plenty on offer - although the service was a little haphazard. Despite these small matters, it was a pleasant stay and imagine it would be lovely in warmer/drier weather because of its location.
