The friendly staff. The rooms. Iwould recommend this hotel anyone traveling to Newport , Rhode island due to the lack of overall quality!

I read the posted reviews and thought it couldn't be THAT bad. I was WRONG. We chose this hotel because they are pet friendly. We ended up in the 'Dog Room'. But it was tough even getting there. The key card wouldn't work in the side door nearest the room, even after we went back to the desk to have it 'fixed', so we traipsed all around the building looking for another way in. We found it way on the other side, but had to step around a huge trash bag, old chicken bones strewn about the walkway as well as a dirty disposable diaper, to get to it. The trash was still there as of checkout the next day. As for the 'Dog Room' - it was filthy. The bath was untouchable, the furniture and rug was dirty, and I wasn't comfortable about the bed linens so I couldn't even bring myself to sleep IN the bed and instead, slept on top of it in my clothes. It's entirely possible other rooms are cleaner, newer, nicer. But having seen the entire building from the inside out and all around, I tend to doubt it. Please note, the staff were very friendly (if a little vague: the check-in 'girl' didn't seem to know what she was doing - but she was very nice). The location is good, close to everything we wanted and everywhere we wanted to go. We are Newport vets, and this is our first bad experience at a local hotel, although, this is also our fist experience taking the dogs along. We appreciate that they are pet-friendly, but that doesn't mean they have to give us their worst room, or that they can't keep the rooms or the building or the grounds clean.

Very comfortable bed. Room overlooked dumpster and was not in best part of town. Nice Hotel Surroundings were not anything great. Lobby was clean and niceI did not dine there.

It took 3 tries to get a clean room The Desk Clerk was very nice. That is the only good thing I can say. The pool was closed for "renovations" the whirlpools were also closed. The lobby was dark when we entered it looked closed. They had a promotion that you got a $30 gift certificate to a resturant which was nice and also a bottle of champange butyou had to upgrade to a whirlpool suite. I am glad I did because as I stated the pool and whirlpool were closed. I will never again book a hotel from Orbitz that is not a chain hotel.

Location. Staff, rooms andhotel layout. I was not met at the desk with a very friendly person. The rooms were less than acceptable. The hallways were very long and it was not convenient to get to the room. There was only one ice machine in the hotel and it was not in a central location. It was most unpleasant all the way around.

Spa and whirlpool suites connotes a very nice place with alot of amenities. The covered pool was difficult to access, did not have towels, people were asking at the desk how to access the pool as the doors were all closed, the two hot tubs were covered and the staff indicated they didn't work, there was no whirlpool in our room, the spa consisted of hair appointments, the dining room was dark and the coffee terrible, the window sill in the very small room was dirty, the carpet and furniture worn, and the furniture set up in a strange way and overall it was not a pleasant place to stay. I would recommend that you not list this property. It was close to Newport and they did let us park our extra car there for the day but there was nothing spa like about staying there.

Bed. Carpet in roomwas old, as was toilet, shower. Sheets and blankets were cheap. Hallways weregloomy. An overpriced 2.5 star hotel located in the Business District of Middletown. Dark and gloomy hallways complement the paper thin blankets and worn out carpet in this spa like atmosphere. Would not recommend to anyone I knew. Holiday Inn Express across the street a much better choice.

Good Hotel, Bad service

The atmosphere of the hotel grounds had a park side setting & the inside setting was like home. The room was way too small too move around. I would recommend the hotel, I would stay at the hotel again - and my only preference would be to have a larger room.

Although their website looks nice, I would not recommend this hotel. The room was not thoroughly cleaned (i.e. the room refrigerator still had someone else's smelly food in it). The walls were so thin, you could hear conversations, people taking showers and EVERYTHING else. During the time we were there, we had a crowd of teenagers that were being loud nightly and when we called the management to complain, they did nothing about it! All that being said above, it was way too expensive. It wasn't even a holiday weekend! It's not worth the price. You might as well just pay a little more and you could fully upgrade to one of those nice BB in Newport.

It had a bed and a toilet. No illumination in the inadequate parking area, unsecured entries throughout building. This was ahorrible place. I was embarrassed to take my friend there once we arrived. The staffis curt and inhospitable.

The hotel was in a great location for the functions that we needed to attend. The room was clean and well equiped (iron and board, coffee maker). The beds were very comfortable. The dining room for breakfast had everything that we wanted. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Very small room and must be under remodeling. The room was very small and you could see there was remodeling going on... halls were not very clean.

The room was a good size. There were 4 of us. The bathroom was in a very awkward place and very small. A pull-out couch was right in line for the bathroom, and there really wasn't anywhere else to put it. There was only one trash bucket - near the bathroom, but on the other side of the room - none. The lighting was awful, very dull.
