Location and beach. Room wasn't that clean. Decent hotel for the price and location. Very convenient, close to shopping and dining. Other hotels are much better, but this one is a good deal.

The hotel is ok. The rooms are horrible Yellow water came out in the bathroom. Checked out right away. I would NEVER stay at this hotel!!! NEVER!!!!!

this was my 1st time experiencing miami with my husband. this hotel was very clean, the staff was nice and polite. they just need to update there menu, can more of a variety of breakfast food to choose from. some people liketo enjoy fish for breakfast. and a strong sugestion, they should nice mix pork with beef in the same containers.

While we were there we relaxed by the beautiful blue waters of the ocean by the pier. Hopefully, the permits get approved soon so that people can fish on it again. The only bad thing was the since we booked through cheap tickets we were not allowed to upgrade our room to a poolside or oceanview room until check in, but there were none available so we ended up getting a view of the air conditioning units, the wall and part of the city. They need to change that because I was a guest just like the rest of them and should have had the same opportunity to enjoy the scenery.

Hotel sent me away claiming they were overbooked, claiming the new hotel was 5 star and it was no more than 3. Our room had stains on the carpet.

As an avid beachgoer, I usually don't care too much about the quality of a hotel, as I always intend to spend my time outdoors anyway. However, The Newport Beachside Hotel was an awesome place to stay during my trip to Miami. The rooms themselves may not be the most up to date, but the staff was excellent, from the housekeepers and concierge to the poolside bartenders and restaurant staff. Everyone was SO friendly and gave directions to and reviews of local attractions. The beach was immaculate and attendants were very fast about getting you beach chairs. There was a great mix of families and young people on spring break, so it didn't feel like a Disney hotel or a Girls Gone Wild shoot. The drinks were awesome, room service was really fast, everything was great. Literally my only qualm was with the food at the hotel restaurant, Kitchen 305. The food was subpar to be so pricey, but it wasn't awful. All in all, great place to stay, loved being RIGHT on the most beautiful beach I've been to in a while.

My hubby and I went for a romantic getaway and had a wonderful time. The pictures provided of the hotel, inside and out, are very accurate so nothing was a surprise. The staff was very friendly and nice as well. There was 1 or 2 occasions that we had to ask for more towels, but they responded very quickly and had them to us within minutes. The bed seemed somewhat hard, but we slept very well on it, nevertheless. We booked a room with a city view, but we ended up getting a room with a partial ocean view which was simply beautiful. The beach was all that we imagined and much more! Overall, we had a great stay at the hotel and would definitely stay again. We went to the South Beach area, but it wasn't our cup of tea. It seemed to be more for single partygoers so we didn't seem to fit in. It was still a good experience, but we just felt that SB was a lot of hype. I would definitely recommend visiting the Coconut Grove Area. If you travel South on US-1, it is in an area to the East of it. There are shops, restaurants, a movie theater, and even an Improv Comedy Club. We went one night and had dinner, saw a comedy show, and just enjoyed the wonderful ambiance of the area. The nightlife there seemed to appeal to a more mature crowd, much different than South Beach, so we enjoyed it more. Aventura (north of hotel) is also a very nice area with a huge shopping mall. They also have a wonderful restaurant called The Original Pancake House. The food was very good (breakfast tasted homemade) and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Good family vacation hotel. Clean rooms, but it is an older building. Service is good, not great. Location is excellent, both for it's beach location and for it's driving location. Would recommend for family. Okay for price below $150-$200. Anything above, not sure if it is worth it.

Well coordinated family events. Excellent location near beach. We were first given a room with a faulty TV & refrigrator Overall a very family friendly hotel. Good consideration for kids. Well maintained and kept clean. Staff was receptive to any concerns we might have had. As with all resort hotels, cost of dining is expensive.

PROS: great location, safe, resort is very clean, children friendly, easy access to shopping, restaurants, supermarket, rooms are good size, have large dorm refrigerators in room and microwave, housekeepind does great job cleaning room. The beach is clean with easy access. CONS: rooms are dated, sofas are worn out and uncomfortable, king bed in 1 bedroom suite was sagging and uncomfortable. Business room was expensive to be on the computer for 20 minutes. No water activities to do from this beach (ie parasailing, boating, etc). But close to the public beach. HELPFUL HINTS: if requesting a room with a balcony, ask for a pool view and not a balcony overlooking the ugly rooftop. Ask someone at the front desk to print your boarding passes for your morning flight the evening before. They will gladly do that for you so you don't have to pay for computer use. Walk to the market and get items for your room to eat so you don't have to eat every day/night at the local restaurants. WOULD I STAY AGAIN? You bet!

It was our first time visiting Miami. The hotel was nice, the staff was friendly. Be adviced that the hotel charges 10 per day for towels and chairs for the beach, 10-15 to park your car and if you do not rent your car as you get off the airplane you will need to pay 60 to get to this hotel via shuttle bus. All these extra fees are not included in your package price, needless to say it was a pricey vacation. We were surprised how most of the Miami people we encountered were rude. Take lots of dollar bills as you will need to tip anyone who helps you.

It was on the beach. They charged $10.00 room charge, For what? Hotel was fine, But I do not like when they add charges to Priceline.

I checked in late at night and when I made it to my room I noticed an abundance of black mold growing on my bathroom ceiling, obviously from a flooding of the bathroom above. It was late and I was tired so I planned on addressing the issue first thing in the morning. However, when I called to change my room in the morning they told me I would have to check back at noon, I did so then and they said I would have to check back later. This went on a few times until I demanded a refund or a different room. Throughout the whole process the staff was rude and acted as though my complaint was unwarranted. My next room was much better (an upgrade) but I should never have had to deal with the situation in the first place.

Due to the location, price and photos we picked this hotel. Although the lobby and pool are great, the hotel room itself was terrible. We were located by the service elevator, housekeeping closet, vending machine and employee exit door (all directly attached to our room). It was not an ideal room. We were also told that the hotel was booked so we could not be moved. The rooms are in a desperate need of an update!!! We also tried to order room service for lunch (1:00pm) and were told they were closed. This should not be rated a 4 star hotel. It was not the worst hotel, but less than ideal.

Location and amenities. Desk staff. Upon arrival at near midnight, our room (booked for 2 nights) was not available - we were moved to another hotel for one night than had to move back here for second night - very inconvenient. The desk staff was too busy talking to each other and dancing to; the sounds from the night club in the lobby to really care about the fact that they had no room for us - and told us the hotel they were sending us to was better. After many hours of travel that was not the arrival greeting we expected.

We booked this package (flight/hotel) for $345/person (spring break). We were a little weary with the price being so cheap. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom suite with an awesome view of the pool and ocean and two jacuzzi tubs in our room. Our suite had a refrigerator, some dishes and a safe -free of charge. The hotel is beautiful, clean and the staff was friendly and responsive. It felt like a resort. Ocean front palapas (the only downside was they were $20 to rent) but chairs were free to guests. Beautiful pool, lots of activities going on (game night, ladies night, pool/ocean side games, etc) Great place for families or couples. The pier is located right next to the property and has good food/drinks and beautiful view of the water. We did NOT eat at either restaurant on site (only because we ventured out to explore). Two restaurants are located on-site and there is a pool-side bar. The drinks were a little pricey $5 for a bottle of beer- so we ended up going to the grocery store to get our own beverages. The rooms were very clean and modern and the shampoo/soap provided is from Bath & Body Works, not the cheap, stinky soap usually provided by hotels. We used valet parking (with 24hour in/out available) for $15/day. The only minor downsides: Wireless internet was available but we had to re-connect after 2 hours. There was a $10/day resort fee that we were unaware of at checkout. The only thing I would like to see improved is if they offered this hotel as all-inclusive. The water on this beach is simply breathtaking- aquamarine blue.
