Loved this hotel and will definitely return. Its location is perfect if you love all the fine things of Paris between Opera and Madeline. Hediard and Fauchon at your doorstep. Walking distance to my two favourite cafes in Paris - Cafe Madeline and Cafe L'Olympia (if you go here say hi to Hector and Vittorio from the Princess). The famous Buddah Bar is just around the corner. Great shopping in Fabourg Rue St Honore in one direction and the Galeries Lafayette and prrintemps in the other direction. If you love all things authentic when you travel then you will live this hotel as I did - I truly felt like I was in Paris! The staff could not have been more helpful and ever so friendly. Was very quiet. Perhaps I will see you there.

It was a good place for the visit to Paris, but I should not mind trying another hotel, because although rates were less than usual I think the prices the utmost in respect to what you have got. The personal was friendly but not very competent in regard to questions about surrounding places.

I was told breakfast was included and this was not the case as breakfast was an additional 18 per person. At the prices for rooms at this hotel I would have thought breakfast would be included.

In the hotel directory and other publications it was stated that the hotel bar was open between 1630 and 2400 every day. On Thursday 5th May the bar closed at 21.30 and did not open at all on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th May. If a hotel advertises a service it should provide that service. We chose the hotel as it offered a bar service.

Despite the hotel is 4 stars rate, the room that I had was a little bit old and tired. Toilet was clean all the time, but very old, which it makes look unclean. Between 2 to 3 stars I would say.

We stayed for one night initially and after visiting Belguim for the Tour de France returned for 6 nights. The rooms we stayed in on the first night were small, but they were nicely decorated and very clean. I loved the winding stair case, classic elevator and phone booth. We asked for an upgrade for the second 6 day stay and were accommodated. Much larger rooms, so I would suggest asking for an upgrade. The clerks were not as helpful as the bartender. He was outstanding. I would stay there again just so he could act as our tour guide. He suggested a restaurant called Les Fermes Des Mathurians within walking distance of the hotel. It was the best french meal we had. The wine was excellent, and so was the escargot, veggies and lamb chops. The bartender suggested wines which I purchased and brought back to the states and he also drew a map for us to get the Les Fermes Des Mathurians which I kept to put in our scrapbook. Overall, it was a good stay and the price reasonable given hotel rates in Paris. We wished that there was more night life in the area, but loved being 1/2 block from the M train.

On the whole enjoyed our stay, staff very efficient and polite. However booked a superior romm but did not think it justified that description, it was very small and cramped.
