Bluebell Inn, BarnsleyVery friendly staff, nice hotel, easily accessible. Could have done with a refrigerator in the room and an available ice machine. Single beds need to be wider and the American idea of two doubles in suitable rooms could be atttractive, a slight premium for such rooms would be ok. No complaints at all about service from the chambermaids to the manager. It would maybe be a good idea if the management were to offer discounts for stays longer than three nights duration. Congratulations, a very pleasant stay.

Little bit of noiseWe were given a room on the side of the hotel with the conference room. This was having a wedding party which went on until midnight and was quite noisy. I would expect the hotel to know this is going to happen so have better windows for the noise.

OverpricedAs a budget hotel the Bluebell is fine but the quality of the food and the accommodation doesn't justify the prices charged. The staff were excellent.Warning - There are no phones in the rooms so you can't ring a room others in your party are staying in or request a hairdryer or iron which are available from Reception i.e. not in the room.

Does what it says on the tin.....Hotel was what I expected, not having stayed in a New Country Inn before, but having stayed in a number of similar 'chains'. Room was clean and comfortable with good sized bathroom. All the staff I spoke to were helpful and friendly. The price for the stay was excellent value. We ate in the hotel restuarant and the food was fine - I notice some people have marked down the food - did they really expect 'cordon bleau' cuisine ? Hotel restuarant was quite busy (Saturday night) and noisy (lots of children) but we sat in the 'adults only' side, so no problem.

there is an alternativei was a little cautious about staying at the bluebell inn as in travelling around a lot i did tend to use travelodge hotels , now after staying at the bluebell inn there is a better choice for about the same price , friendlier staff , excellent rooms with proper tea making facilities good tv channell selection , i would honestly rate this hotel a excellent allround 10/10 . and would recommend it to anyone .

last min booking for familyi found it easy booking a room and with only a few hours before arrival another bed was added for our daughter at no extra cost. the room was big enough for 5 with quite a bit of space. a nice touch was plenty of fresh clean towels and shower gels. a kettle was in our room with plenty of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, hot choc and biscuits!this is a great friendly place that i highly recommend- we will use again

Reasonable hotel for the price. Typical Premier Lodge style, everything done for the minimum cost and maximum profit. No real service ethic but the price is right. OK for the occasional one or two nights. Eat out!
