The Hotel Nelligan is located in the heart of old Montreal. Restaurants, historical sites, museums, shopping, and the St. Lawrence River are all within walking distance. The comfortable room with an exposed brick wall was large and and tastefully appointed. The bed came complete with a down comforter and chenille throw. A second brick wall, tumbled marble mosaic band, a dark wood shelving unit and a jacuzzi tub gave the bathroom an upscale look and feel. The hotel centers around a five story atrium with wrought iron balconies and skylights. All in all, a beautiful hotel, especially appealing to couples or business travelers.

This is a fantastic boutique hotel. The free wine & cheese reception nightly and the free breakfast every morning help offset the cost. Lobby & lounge area is delightful. Room decor reminds me of the W Hotels. Only thing I could complain about was there was no hook in the bathroom to hang the plush robe they provided. Location is good for Old Montreal sites but out of the way for good shopping. Service in the Versus dining room was slow, food was good but a litle pricy. All staff was personable and professional.

Hotel Nelligan was perfect for us - we parked the car and walked or used metro to go everywhere. The room was comfortable, quiet, and stylish and had everything we needed. The hotel staff was friendly and made excellent recommendations for local bistros - and the hotel food was also great - loved the sky terrace as well as the main restaurant. We would return!

Nelligan is a gem conveniently tucked behind Basilica Notre Dame. It's right in the middle of the Old Montreal scene and is a short walk to metro and Chinatown. The moment you step into the hotel, it feels like you're in a european hotel. I enjoyed stepping into the room with classical music turned on for us. The bathroom is very spacious as well. Love having breakfast at the atrium even tho' there are plenty of other seating choices. Don't forget to checkout the roof terrace.

Overall, a very nice boutique hotel in a great location. The room was quite large and nicely appointed. People were friendly and helpful. Wine & cheese hour was also a nice feature. Our only complaint was that we ordered room service one evening and it took almost 2hrs for it to arrive.

We were in Montreal on our honeymoon, March 2007. We absolutely loved our stay at the Hotel Nelligan! The rooms were absolutely beautiful, the bathroom was amazing with it's whirlpool tub, the fireplace created a relaxing atmosphere. My only complaint is regarding the lack of a coffee maker in the room. Everything else was fabulous!

We've stayed at the W in many Cities. This is by far a much more relaxing atmosphere then the W. We like the W, but for our stay in Montreal we fell in love with N. We will forever stay at Nelligan when we're in Montreal.

Our stay was wonderful. Everything about this hotel screams good taste and charm. The service is incredible.I feel almost petty complaining that the fireplace in our room was only a mimic using lighting rather than real fire.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The room was elegant; the location easy to get to and within walking distance of many sites, and the service was wonderful.

I loved the place; I would go back for a weekend. During the week though it looks like mostly business travel.
