It's location is excellent for people who like shopping and experiencing different type of Chinese food. We enjoyed our time there. I would recommend anyone who visits Shanghai to this hotel. Very convenience to go places from the as well either on foot or by subway/train/bus. Plus, the room doesn't stink of cigarette :-) - We stayed there in June 2008

Depending on who you got, staff were either abrupt or nice. hotel room was ok, location was great - only 100m from nanjing road and shops. would stay again if i ever visit shanghai.

This is a good, basic, budget hotel at a great location. The hotel front desk staff spoke very good English, and were very helpful. The front doorman is great at getting taxis for you. Coming back, taxis may drop you off the block before because of narrow street and congestion in front of the hotel. Be sure to take a map with you, as many taxi drivers had difficulty finding it. We had booked a double room, which was confirmed through Travel agency, but when we got there, we got a twin room, because that is what hotel staff said Travel agency requested for us. We had to take the twin room that night, as nothing else was available. They said they would put us in a double room the next afternoon, but were able to get us in one the next morning, so we didn't have to break up our day by coming back to move luggage. Unfortunately, it was not as nice or as big as the first room. Travel agency also says breakfast is included in the room rate, but hotel staff says it's not, and charged us 30 rmb per person. Breakfast was OK, with items changing daily, but you need to like to eat veggies for breakfast. Several times we just went to nearby street vendors for 3 rmb pp breakfasts. We hated Shanghai, but if we ever go back, we would stay at this hotel.

Stayed several nights here with a friend to tour Shanghai, and was very pleased with the value for the money. The location can't be beat! It's right off Nanjing pedestrian street and right beside the subway entrance.

The location is perfect: virtually on Nanjing Road, with The Bund, People's Square and Shanghai Museum all within 15-20 minute walking distance. The Service was average with some English spoken but very little information forthcoming re events outside of the hotel. A disappointment was that there was no successful assistance available for internet access during the 3 public holidays that I was there! Overall, due to the hotel's location and pricing I would definitely stay there again.

I appreciated the fact that they let me check in at 9.30am. Its location is excellent for transport from/to the Pudong Airport, shops and MacDonald's/KFC. I will choose this hotel again next time I visit Shanghai.

The place is very central. Close to the main shops and train line! Will go back next time in Shanghai. Reception aren't friendly nor helpful. Best to go to the tourist information stand for enquiries. They're very helpful and friendly people. Recommended to go to the Bund at night. Very beautiful.

Location is excellent, price is very good for the location, but the facilities are very old, it looks like the bathroom hasnt been renovated since the 70's.

Excellently located very near Shanghai's famous walking street and the Bund, this medium priced hotel is clean, and offers friendly service. The rooms are a little small by newer standards, but the more than affordable price makes up for it. I would recommend this hotel to any traveling businessman or woman who needs a good night sleep, but wants to be near the action.

The hotel was very clean and efficiently run. There were some bad smells and gurgling noises coming from the bathroom drains but closing the door at night solved that. The location is excellent being just a half block from East Nanjing Road and the Metro station. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

For its price, this hotel is value for money.

Hotel central to everything, though is abit old and very small in the standard room. Will stay again
