Don't botherWhat a disappointment. Despite the convenient location, the hotel was extremely shabby. Rooms and bathrooms were hideous and breakfast resembled a prison canteen.

I brough my two sisters here for a vacation. The hotel itself is in a great location. Easy to walk everywhere you want to see. Taxi services easy to get and tube station is close by. Three things to remember when staying here. 1. This really bothered me--the entire staff is is almost 90% Italian and had trouble understanding alot of English. I know a little so it was not a big deal--it would be a very big deal for someone expecting an English staff. 2. No water pressure in the showers or toilets. Be flexible. 3. Food is very expensive in the hotel. You have to pay 32 about 16 british pounds for breakfast even if all you want is a small bowl of cereal and coffee. This was inexcusable and totally unacceptable not to be able to have a choice. The dining staff looked so bored with every facet of their lifes--they should just go off somewhere in private and slit their throats. I llived in Italy for four years. this is typical of them. They have no customer service skills and could care less about it. I lived in Italy for four years--I was sorrta ok with it--my sisters were appalled. I bought a surprise birth day cake at Harrods for my oldest sister. Back at the hotel I asked for three cake plates and three forks to take to the room for the surprise. Of course NO WAY. YOu have to buy food from the hotel. Again very unacceptable. We used our coffee cup saucers and spoons in the room.

RecommendedGood location , quiet but centrally place and pleasant relaxing atmosphere.

Nice location- close to Buckingham Palace and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, and the tube. That made it worth while. The staff was great. Hotel seems a little dated, and my bed was feeling pretty old, and not very comfortable. Price of food in the hotel was over the top. Overall a hotel that was okay, but not one I would tell everyone they had to stay at. I would try another one in another locaiton next time.I also did not enjoy the noise of the trucks picking up the trash at 5 am.

One NIght StopoverA remarkably quiet hotel considering that it is in central London. Literally a stone's throw away from New Scotland Yard and a few minutes from The Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey. Perfect for walking to many central London sites and easy reach of the lovely St. James' Park. No quibbles with the hotel but then we only had a one night stay. The room was well appointed but very slightly tired in its decorative order (not shabby) although very clean.

Overall, the hotel has a fascinating history - there's a grand entrance with magnificent balcony and sweeping stares in blue and white. The hotel actually has some hidden doors and even an underground tunnel that used to be used by Members of Parliment to go to the Jolly pub. Have breakfast in the morning in the grand ballroom, which has been filmed for movies as well. The location overall is excellent, right near major attractions. I would say some of the rooms are great while others need work. The hotel is in the middle of refreshing all the rooms, so DEFINITELY ask to be in a room that has recently been renovated (I believe one side of the hotel is now complete). Overall, a unique and interesting hotel with a great location.

I stayed at the Hotel on a 2 week business trip. If you are looking for a place to stay near all the big tourist attractions (Westminster Abbey, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace), this is the place. The room was small, but normal for London. The staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean. The only complaint is that there was not much open around the hotel after 7pm if you are looking for other places to dine. But access to the tube is just around the corner. Would definitely stay again.

Gone downhillSt Ermins is not what it used to be - it is a bit tired and in need of re-furbishment. Being Italian run it has a lot of Italian staff and guests but the service is poor. The breakfasts used to be very good but now the choice is limited and while there are lots of waiters around none of them seem to take any notice of the guests. I'd stay here again because it is conveniently located for Westminster area but it needs to improve its service and update the rooms.

I stayed here for a business trip, but brought my wife and two children (ages 3 and 1) so we could go sightseeing after work. The hotel is just around the corner from Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, and within walking distance of Picadilly Circus. The room was nice, and my wife (who's spent a lot more time traveling around Europe than I have) informed me that the room was huge by European standards; especially the bathroom (for American travelers, you can expect a room only a little bit smaller than you're used to here).

The room was small, dark and unwelcoming, the TV reception was poor, the room doors along the corridor bang very time they are used.

"We stayed for a very pleasant three nights in July. It was unseasonably hot in London, and we were thrilled to find the room air conditioned. The room was small by American standards but very clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was very pretty. The location is fantastic, a few hundred yards from the St. James tube station and a few blocks from Westminster Abbey. We didn?t eat in the restaurant but enjoyed the Italian ice cream when we returned each day from sightseeing! It also had internet access for a small fee. We would most definitely stay here again."

We only ate breakfast which was very enjoyable with a huge choice. It was a good hotel but for the star rating, I have stayed in London at smaller hotels, with a lower star rating, which were somehow nicer. However, it would be unfair to give this hotel a poor rating as it was enjoyable. Thank you.

Following an un-expected delay with flight into London, we didn't arrive at the hotel until ten past seven to be told that our room wasn't ready, what we had been on time!! I definately wouldn't stay again.

A bit tired but a good standard to begin with. Seems to be very popular with Italians. Very friendly staff, everything worked. Restaurant was quite expensive and obviously not trying to compete for trade from Londoners.

Hotel easy to find and parking onsite big plus. Arrived mid-afternoon Saturday and dissapointed with limited availability of food. Also that breakfast not included in price. Overall though very satisfied.

Unique hotel right at the heart of Westminster, right next to a tube (underground) station. Very English and traditional, but now owned by Italians with a growing influence on staff. Breakfast room a delight, but pre-pay and save money on a generous discount.
