Verry efficent and friendly staff, if only all hotels were as welcoming

Out of the center of Hamburg, this hotel is very pleasant for the price. It's located on the edge of a steeple chase horse track. We skipped the breakfast (16 euro per person) and traveled to eat each day. We chose the hotel on the basis of it's location, near where our son is attending school. U-bahn station with small shopping center and bus transport is quite convenient, within about 300 yards. Disadvantage is that it's not really near any larger shopping/tourist area without a short ride on public transport...not bad, though. We had rented a car, but this is not needed unless one is traveling outside Hamburg for some reason

I arrived later than planned. There was no facility for food at midnight having travelled all day. There was no ATM cash machine within 3 Km. I will not be using this Hotel again as travelling on business requires a certain level of service not provided at this Hotel.

Nice, new hotel. 4* quality. Big room, well furnished. Great bathroom too. Excellent value @ 65 euros per room per night.Did not eat here because there is a little parade of cafes and shops at the station 500 metres away. Tube into Hamburg 10 mins max. Staff spoke english and were extremely helpful, booking us an onward NH hotel in Berlin at the same rate. As this hotel overlooks the racecourse you may want to check the Hamburg racing diary before expecting a bargain rate.
