The hotel was pretty old and small, but cozy. The room was also fairly small, but clean, and equipped with stove and fridge. The beds were too soft and felt somewhat worn out. The best part of the hotel to me was the friendly, helpful staff. I felt really cared by those nice young ladies. Breakfast was good - better than expected.

This hotel is ideally located for the tourist visitor. It is 1 block from the river and a 15 minute walk along the treelined walkways to the historic center of the city. The Mirabell gardens and the Salzburg Marionette Theatre are 5 minutes away. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Staff is helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is 16 Euros. If you are starving or a big breakfast eater, the buffet may be just what you need. There are nearby cafes if you are interested in a more modest breakfast. Wireless internet access fees are 10 Euro/24 hours with limited download, or an outrageous 18 Euro/24 hours for "business class" with unlimited download ability; signal strength was statisfactory from a first floor room. There is free limited Internet access at a common terminal in the lobby. The sauna was not working during my visit and the fitness area was being used to store linens. Public toilets were clean. Parking was free. Bicycle rental (8 Euros/day) is an excellent way to see the city and Schloss Hellbrunn, with its trick water fountains and beautiful gardens, just to the south of the city. Numerous foot and bicycle paths show Salzburg's superb urban planning, where green space is preserved and close at hand to residential and city centers. Overall this is a very clean and well maintained property, and I would use this hotel when I next return to Salzburg.

Very nice hotel, very near the train station, very near to all atractions. Friendly staff, nice facilities.
