It was horrible!!! When I got to the hotel I found that the rate I paid for through orbitz was a good amount more then the base rate I got if I was to just show up at the door. Not only that orbitz plays games with words. I wanted to reserve a double room. So after placing the reserve I was shocked to find that my reserve was for 1 double bed NOT a double room! I called cust. service and they told me that double meant bed size not room size (which I have never seen before). After which time I go to check the hotels site to find the only time double SIZE beds are used are in DOUBLE BED ROOMS. So me and my friends made it work.....not orbitz. This was my first and last time booking through orbitz.

Friendly and polite staff, attentive and helpful. Near the edge of a rougher neighborhood. The staff were all kind and courteous, the facilities were clean, nicely furnished and up to date, and worked well with the smallish rooms.

When entering we saw everything was under repairs. So not a good sign and were never informed about any repairs at all. The room was ok nothing fancy but our phone didnt work and we went down to the front desk to try to get a new on and some young girl told us it would be taken care of but it never was for our whole stay.(3 days) They were workers all around yelling and messing around having a blast. For us we were not. The elevators took a long time and always stoped at every level even if noone was there. There was only one working elevator 80% of the time and we took the stairs most of the time because we were tired of waiting. On check out day we waited 20min for the elevator and when if stopped it was full of workers goofing off. We walked all our bags down the stairs from the 5th floor. When talking to the front desk about it all they said was that one elevator was working. There were no sorries or concerns about it at all. The only upside was that they had a free simple breakfast buffet in the morning. Also all the vending machines on every floor were either out or not working. This Hotel had next to no standards and staffing was very poor.

when we asked where we could get cigarettes, she sent us to a very bad part of town.. the store we went into at 3 am had double thick glass with a sort of maze feature (so you couldnt reach in) that they passed you your purchases though. Baltimore already has a bit of a reputation, this wasnt needed for our first experience. The area closer to the inner harbor was nice and we felt safe, but where our hotel was located didnt make us feel like we were safe.

Good budget accomodations. Area around the hotel seems to be on the upswing. Lots of remodeling and improvements. Felt safe (as much as you can in a city). Room was a loft which had an upstairs section with sofa bed. Tons of room in both updaters and downstairs section.

Bed linens were dirty with hair and blood stains and no one would provide clean linens until morning. The shower was filthy with hair all through the bathroom. The carpets had not been swept for a while. We had 3 different rooms and they were all the same. The staff was not shocked when my whole conference party checked out the following morning and found other hotels to stay in. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It is used as a dorm where students live on opposite floors than the hotel guests. Music was playing very loudly during our conference and was very distracting. I can go on and on.

The lot was across the street and not too expensive so it worked out. Other than that, great hotel for the price.

The staff was very friendly, helpful, and available 24 hrs. My room & bath were very clean. It is conveniently located and easy to find. I really can't comment. Well located and easy to find. Can basically walk anywhere in downtown area. The lobby was unremarkable but neat and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful, and was available around the clock. The rooms and baths were very clean which is important to me. The usual amenities such as TV. are there. They actually provide many large, fluffy towels for guests' use! This hotel is not the Four Seasons, but I would certainly recommend it.

The main complaint that I had w/ this place is that the air conditioner hardly worked. I turned it on high & it still wouldn't put out the air you think it would. You couldn't open the windows b/c of the way they were made. And I paid * after taxes! I would never stay there again!!!

The price. I felt like I was going to get mugged as soon as I stepped out of the hotel. I went to Baltimore for the weekend to see a couple of baseball games. The Mount Vernon Hotel was the only hotel near the Inner Harbor for a reasonable rate. The hotel room itself was ok. It was nothing special but I had no complaints about the room. The area around the hotel though is horrible. I didn't feel safe at all in the area the hotel was in. We thought we would be able to walk everywhere we needed to go because of the proximity to the Inner Harbor but it was around a half hour walk that was very uncomfortable. Like I said the room was ok but if you stay here plan on taking cabs everywhere.

The air conditioning in our room was horrible. We didn't get much sleep it was so hot in there. We complained about the air, so they offered us a fan. It helped alittle. The carpeting thru-out the hotel was stained very badly. The bed was uncomfortable. The room itself was pretty clean. The dining room and breakfast was pretty good. The staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. We were told by a waitress at the harbor to be careful walking back to the hotel at night, because it wasn't a safe area. We took a taxi back and forth. We learned a lesson from this vacation, spend a little more money for something nicer.

They made every effort to accomodate our needs and the continental breakfast was excellent. No trash can in the room and tv remote was missing but promptly replaces. It was well situated for the attractions we we're interested in check in and check out was easy and speedy.

Mount Vernon is a great hotel for the price. The staff is very friendly and the complimentary continental breakfast was great. The Hotel is located in historic part of Baltimore cose to the art museums and Baltimore cathedral.

Location was great and was clean and attractive. One elevator was down. I liked the historical appearance and the furnishings were attractive. The restaurant was to open in July, but the conntinental breakfast was excellent and the public transportation was close by.

Not enough parking spaces, my truck were towed and I had to scramble to pick it up to go to my next destination. The hotel was great for my expectations on my stay. I rated the restaurant as poor, but that was only because there was not any restaurant open at the time of my stay.

The elevators did not work, the tv remote in my room did not work, it looked like an SRO. The location was good and the room was clean but the overall experience was sub par.

Location & parking. Hotel decor could be updated some. I would recommend hotel to family and friends.

The location of the hotel. The bathroom was nasty, the tub did not work, and it was just a mess! I was not pleased with this hotel! I expected a nice size room with amenities and appearance like any other hotel; vending machines, working tub, clean toilet, and so on. Needless to say, but I would not stay in the hotel again when I visit the Baltimore area.

Great location, accommodations were consistent with price. Air conditioning was broken, got a little warm, also no closet in the room. Would certainly recommend for business travel. Very easy to get to from train station. Reasonably close to attractions, also several really nice restaurants in the area.

I can't. Broken elevator, broken air conditioning, no parking, would not recommend. Twenty minutes and $10 after finding a place to park, wanted to go up to the room and relax, when we discovered the elevators didn't work. After the refreshing romp up the stairs, we got to our room only to discover that there was NO AIR CONDITIONING!!!! Will never, never, never stay here again, nor will I recommend to anyone. Furthermore, if this was the only hotel in Baltimore with vacancies, I would gladly turn around and go home
