Area Attractions: The Mount Herbert enjoys a close proximity to the city, with all its major tourist attractions, such as Trinity College Dublin, home of the Book of Kells, Guinness Storehouse, Grafton Street, St. Stephen's Green and Temple Bar, to name but a few. A stroll around the immediate environs of the hotel will bring the visitor to the famous Lansdowne Road rugby stadium, and the Royal Dublin Society, famous for The Dublin Horseshow, and as a concert venue. Dublin is full of places to go and things to see - it has an abundance of museums, art galleries, restaurants, pubs and interesting places to shop. The city centre is small, and easy to get around. There is plenty to keep you occupied during your visit - you could visit a gallery, have lunch, and then stroll around the shops. Perhaps you'd like to hunt for hidden treasures in one of Dublin's many markets? When you've done all that, relax in one of the city's parks. At night, go for a drink in one of our famous pubs, and perhaps go on to a club later. This guide is not a full listing of everything to do in the city, rather it is intended to whet the appetite! Staff at the front desk was unusually helpful. Very friendly.

Decent HotelThis is a very pleasant hotel in a quiet part of Dublin. We were accomodated in a decent room. The bed was comfortable and the shower worked very well (it was a combination bath-shower arrangement, but perfectly adequate and powerful). We have nothing bad to report regarding the cleanliness of either the room or the rest of the hotel. There was a safe in the cupboard for valuables. The staff were on the whole fine, but I felt the reception people at times could have been a bit more friendly and engaging. This is but a minor gripe, however. There are two buffet options for breakfast: Continental and Full Irish, costing 10EUR and 15EUR respectively. We opted for the Full Irish on one of our mornings which was a fairly standard choice of the usual fried stuff. We thought it was quite expensive for what it was, so opted for a city-centre restaurant the next morning, where we got better food for about half the price. We didn't eat any other meals at the restaurant. The hotel is well connected to the city centre, with the DART railway station no more than 5 minutes walk away. This cost 1,65EUR one-way to the centre, which saves a 45 minute walk. Late arrivals or departures would do well to check the operating times of this service though. One reservation I have is when the Aviva stadium is opened (about 2 mins away) I think the noise level will certainly increase at some times, which may be offputting to some.On the whole though - especially for the price paid - it was a good value hotel, and we would certainly consider it again.

Staff was very accomodating. Mold in the ceiling of the bathroom. Only one of the rooms!! Nice, historic, clean and safe.

Excellent location, good service and great value. Only one slight point for some reason there are no 'Do Not Disturb' signs in the rooms.

This was a fine place to stay, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. The hotel staff was almost friendly. It's a long walk to Grafton Street, we took the DART train to get there instead.

Location LocationVery well located - 2 mins from DART which is then 5 mins into City Centre :)

Staff and quiet location. Everything great. Quiet location, excellent staff and very clean. If I go back to Dublin I will come back to the same excellent hotel.

When we arrived at the hotel, I thought if looked a bit dated and in need of a coat of paint and maybe some new curtains. But when we went inside , i thought it was very nice and cosy and inside looked much nicer and modern. The lounge was very nice, the internet access was excellent and the diningroom was nice. Our bedroom(no.288) was sufficent-nothing special about it but it had what we needed. I thought it was a bit small and felt a bit cramped, but it was just an overnight and so it was ok.

Fairly good location. Food prices were on the high side. Hotel guests made noise when coming home from bars at 3 A.M & 4 A.M. Room was on the small side. Staff was helpful. Car parking was good. No directions on how to find the hotel cost us two hours of miserable traffic and looking to find the hotel. Breakfast prices were so high we had to go about a half mile to a reasonable cafe.

Nice hotel....The hotel itself was very clean and welcoming, however the room we had (121) was directly next to the laundry room. This meant that we were woken up very early by the cleaners talking outside out room.... this also wasn't helped by the thin walls. The room however was exceedingly good. The bed was comfortable and the shower was always hot and powerful. I'd definitely recommend this place!

We had a very comfortable stay, the staff were excellant. as was the food, the room, and its closeness to the rail (Dart) station. The facilities we did not have time to check-out, but the rest of the hotel leads us to expect them to be first class. We would have no hesitation in returning here, or recommending the hotel to others.

The customer service was good, the room was large and nice and breakfast is nice also. But there are only 2 people's toiletries even if we were 3 people. The location is not very convenient as we have to use a taxi from airport, nice surrounding area, though.

Overall the hotel met my expectations situated in a quiet residential part of Dublin. The room we stayed in was very clean and well presented. The biggest dissapointment was the bar food we ordered it was obviously reheated, although we did eat early due to attending a concert at the O2, I wouldn't recommend it. This is what dragged our scoring down. The breakfast was good although pricey. The only other thing we found is when someone in Dublin tells you it's a "five" minute walk, multiply that by 4, achievable possibly by car but not walking.

Pleasant if expensive experienceLovely room which was clean and tidy and well decorated. As breakfast was not included in our overnight stay we did not sample the food. We felt that 15 Euros for breakfast on top of what we had already paid for the room was too much. Reception staff excellent. Bar staff could do with cheering up a bit. I think this would be an ideal base for people wanting to see Dublin but who didn't want to stay in the busy city centre. Really handy for Dart railway.

Beyonce Concert Myself and my friend stayed in the Mount Herbert Hotel after the Beyonce concert. It was very close to the O2. The taxi was only 10 euro! The residents bar is really nice and reasonably priced. The room was very clean and the beds were extreamly comfortable. I will most definately be staying here again for more O2 concerts.
