The MotorCity Casino Hotel is one of my favorite places to stay in downtown Detroit. I love how easy it is to park. The parking garage is free and it's very convenient, plenty of parking spaces and easy to get in/out. The front desk staff are especially friendly. On the same floor is a very nice business center where you can use the computers at no charge. The rooms are beautiful -- I didn't want to leave! The decor, plasma tv, everything made me feel like I was staying in Vegas. The views of the restaurant Iridescence are beautiful and dinner was terrific. I highly recommend the hotel and will definitely stay here again.

Can't begin to go over all of the reasons, but in no particular order. No-one available for Valet Service - 10 minutes, No Bell hop....at all, manager finally took our bags and then left them in the lobby unattended. Front desk great, Room great. employee in suit indicated that the restaurant (only high end one on the place) would not need reservations on Sunday. Went there at 9:30 (closes at 10) 60 to 70% of the tables were empty, yet they said they were full and could not seat us. Went to buffet and after waiting in line for 20 minutes no-one ahead of us had been seated. Again, most of the seats in the place were empty. Spoke with a manager and she just shrugged and indicated they were having some "issues" . Walked back to one of the only 2 bars and watched a fight break out and no security in sight. Also told by an employee that it is not safe to walk outside the hotel.............

We were pleasantly surprised with the hotel and will stay here again. While we did not dine while here (overnight) we plan to check out their dining offerings. Everyone we spoke to while there said we would not be disappointed.

This was, by far, the prettiest and cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff was excellent. The food in the buffet was delicious.

everything was very nice. however we did request certain pillows from the pillow lib. and never received them. this is a hotel for adults only. my husband and i would have used the spa except they had no packages or specials for a day at the spa for the two of us. if they have a pool, no one made meantion of it. where is the pool???? OVERALL; very clean, rooms are very nice and spacious.

I only stayed one night but it was great. Everything from the customer service to the room and casino was very nice. Some of the other reviews say there is only valet parking...this is not true, there is a three story parking garage attached to the hotel with free parking...the entrance is on Elm street I believe.

We were downtown for AutoRama and had a great time! Parking for hotel guests is not seperate from casino visitors, so that was hassle on a Saturday afternoon. The front desk was slow to check in & out, but very nice and apologetic. They were booked solid for the weekend, so last minute guests of ours couldn't get a room. The front desk was very nice about it, waived the extra person fees for them to stay in our room, and gave us some free play in the casino. It's about a mile from all the main points of interest in town, but the cab rides were cheap split between friends. Irridescence on the roof closed at midnight, so that was disappointing. They are still under construction, so some of the extra hang out bars are not open yet, but if you're a people-watcher, the casino clientele will entertain you for hours! As at any casino, the table games are where you win your money. The security set up in the hotel was good and made us feel safe. The room was a nice size and included all the comforts of home. Room service was quick and not overpriced. Thought we were going to get a knock on the door because of how loud we were, but the walls must not be as thin as I've read in other reviews. I've stayed at many places in downtown Detroit, and this was by far the nicest and most comfortable room for the price.

A group of friends and family attended the Detroit Lions football game on Thanksgiving Day instead of doing the traditional turkey dinner. We all then went to the Motor City Casino for the night to play, eat, drink and enjoy our day off. We had a blast! The rooms we stayed in were not only priced right but were extremely elegant and modern. I was so impressed with the quality of our rooms that I didn't want to leave. We all felt like we were in Vegas. Unbelievable value and exceptional quality. The check in & out was fast and easy, friendly staff, casino & shows were great, and the food was good. I will always stay here when I visit Detroit and recommend this hotel to anyone not sure of how they will feel in this city. Safe, clean, and beautiful! Thanks for the great holiday!

The room was very nice and they are striving to be a very classy hotel. However the surroundings and the service leading up to the hotel are questionable. Once in the hotel itself it was very nice and comared to any of the best hotels in Vegas (think Wynn, Venetian), of course for much less though. Had a hard time finding the entrance to the hotel and getting valet parking which was a big pain at midnight. They need better signage and service at the entrance.

The hotel room that I had booked was great. I wasn't expecting the room to be so nice. We experienced great service, and they were there when we needed them. I would totally book again, and definitely recommend to others.

I loved the Motor City Casino. The room was large its amenities are fabulous! Floor to ceiling windows, lush and expensive towels, bed linens, robes, and a very nice large flat screen tv. The state-of-the-art decor and lighting all provided an extravagant feel. I'm not much of a gambler (and I was in town for business) but I thought the casino was great. I had dinner at Iridescence which was fantastic. The views of the city at night were awesome. The staff were extremely helpful, smiling, generous with information - very nice. I was in town for business and had lost my laptap chargerearlier earlier in the day and they went out of their way to help me find a replacement. The business center had several computers and printers which was great to use in a pinch. Also, I appreciated all of the security at this property. As a guest, I was required to show security my room key to the security guards to access the elevator, and then insert your room key into the slot on the elevator. As a female traveling alone and staying at a downtown hotel I felt very safe. Overall, a terrific hotel and I'll definitely come back for a weekend getaway.

There is no hotel entrance or signs that direct you to front desk, had to ask employee walking on street. This information should have been given to us before arrival~ask when making reservation!!!!!!!!!Good luck parking too~drop luggage off w someone than park! NO HELP! Casino itself is quite nice even though under construction~some parts blocked off & visible workers making improvements! Bars were uncomfortable(chairs) & gaming only at one bar which was strange~is that not what we came for! Who runs this place? Hello McFly! The service was consistent at all the bars and informative. Iridesence was a great place to eat w superb service! Sit at the bar w J the bartender for great service & try the hunan shrimp~YUM! Noticed they actually pour a real drink~other bars had terrible pours for the price! Room service was very good & most importantly HOT FOOD as we have had problems w this in the past. The front desk is ONLY attainable through the self-parking! Valet would not take up bags so find out the exact procedure for your visit!

This hotel was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Every staff member and casino employee we encountered was very friendly. The room was sparkling. The buffet was excellent. The hotel wasn't for kids though. We had a 13 year old child that couldn't get into the diningrooms because they were all in the casino and no kids were allowed. Other than that, excellent hotel.

We were excited about this recently opened hotel, but left disappointed. Problems began with lack of separate parking for hotel guests. Our check-in experience was great. The room was very handsome and spacious. However, we immediately noticed loud music from our neighbors, but they turned it down after we asked. When returning around Midnight, we clearly heard other?s conversation, doors opening and closing, and people moving around. We excersized patience, but slept horribly the first night. The second night, we experienced similar issues. We called the front desk, and they spoke with the neighbors. Conversation between the staff and the guest was clearly audible, and choice words from the guest afterwards. We immediately called again, and they switched our room. Right away we noticed the same issue with the noise. We tolerated disturbances for two more nights. For a four-star hotel, the noise was unacceptable and the walls too thin for a casino hotel where people come to party. Additionally the hotel?s service was inconsistent. We called to ask where to find a breakfast menu and a woman simply said, ?I don?t know.? During our second day our safe broke. The cleaning staff skipped our room while the safe was being worked on. We returned to our room at 8 p.m., and it wasn?t touched. The front desk said they would send someone right up. We returned again at Midnight to an unmade bed, dirty towels and glasses. Happily our experiences with room service and the Classics Buffet were great. Every dish was consistently good and desserts were excellent. Sadly, there are more negatives than positives to report. We wouldn?t recommend this hotel due to its parking, inconsistent staff, uncomfortable pillows, but more than anything its loud rooms. Skip the stay but come to play and have a nice meal.
