Getting into the parking lot from the main street was not easy. Directions signage on the main street is poor. I drove around for about a half an hour trying to find a way in. I finally got into the parking lot of a Studio 6 next door and got directions from their staff on how to get to Motel 6. This hotel also has a lot of teens booking rooms on weekends. Another bunch hang out in the parking lot in their cars into the late night. They aren't noisy, but finding parking when I got back at around midnight was a problem. Having said that, the front desk notified the manager about it and after I parked my car in the truck parking area the manager was by the door when I came back offering to move her car so I could have her space - nice touch. The room was clean. Maid was very courteous when she knocked asking when she could return to clean. Desk staff were courteous and prompt with service. Motel 6 is no frills and you know that going in. Unless I were to find a killer deal on a better hotel for less money, I would return to this one a bit wiser about access and parking, but with no misgivings about the hotel. Those issues aside, the location for South River and East Brunswick is very handy. Lastly, I don't know about the recent renovations stated in the description. It's not dingy or worn out, but it isn't shiny fresh, either. Again, nothing to keep me from returning.

The staff of Motel 6 were very polite and wet above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable as a guest. I appreciate how they handled the mix up when it came time to check in. They remained calm and did whatever they could to make sure my room was available. Yes the entire staff was polite, not just one person.
