We stopped in Santa Barbara during a road trip through Southern California. For convenience we decided to stay in a hotel near the beach. Motel 6 was a great choice because it is second row to beach (we had ocean view from our room in the second floor), quite close to downtown and that for a good deal. The new room design is quite cool, looks a little bit like a designer hotel. Nice flatscreen TV, comfy beds and a large bathroom. You can't argue about this Motel 6!

Although the room at the Motel 6 Santa Barbara was stocked with only hand soap, towels, and toilet paper, it was extremely clean and neat. The bed was firm but comfortable and the TV worked well. Room service was available from a central hotel food service. I had thought that internet was free, but it turned out that there was a $3 fee for 24 hours. The hotel is about a block form the ocean. As long as you're just looking for somewhere to sleep, you can't beat the price for the area.

This hotel is close to our event in Santa Barbara and since we did not spend much time in the hotel it was fine for what we needed. Good value for the location.

For my trip, I needed only the basics. These were taken care of. The neighborhood was safe. The motel was clean, comfortable, about a 2 minute stroll to the beach, and a 5 minute drive to downtown State street. If you need just the basics at a great price then this is it.

The motel 6 was not at all what we were thinking it would be. So much nicer, cleaner, and great location! Will definitely stay here again!
