Clean and comfortable. Difficult to get to due to construction and one way streets - a mess.

Charming old-time hotel, excellent value for the price! Location, location, location!

If you're here for sightseeing, this is great. If you're here for business and have to (god forbid) do some work in the room, slightly less so. The room, especially the ones on the ground floor that I got, is a bit dark, and doesn't have a proper work desk. It's a converted mansion, which gives the place a nice atmosphere, but some of the facilities are rather cramped. But it's a nice hotel, and if you want something other than the large chain hotels, it's good.

The rate that I got was reasonable, but the room itself was extremely dark, sitting at street level. I couldn't open the shades during the day due to sidewalk traffic, and at night I couldn't see what was in the armoire/closet without a flashlight. Other than that, it is a lovely place and convenient.

I prefer staying in boutique hotels when I stay in large cities. The Morris-Clark is definitely a top choice for my next visit. The suite was large and clean, the service and staff were truly exceptional, and the location was perfect for getting to area destinations and restaurants. The hotel's own restaurant was very tasty and the staff was friendly and helpful there, too. This historical hotel is certainly a US treasure.

The historic charm. A little too cozy for 2 adults, 1 child. Restaurant too expensive! A beautiful building and friendly staff.

Very friendly, quiet and comfortable hotel within easy walking distance of the business district.

Great ambiance -- more like a bed & breakfast with cable and internet. Short walk to two Metro lines; not far from Chinatown. Just off Massachusetts Ave. Hotel staff friendly and personable. Housekeeping was impeccable. Breakfast was a bit over-priced, but what hotel in DC has reasonable menu prices? Just be careful when exiting through the front door. The designer of this lovely old mansion set the front porch lower than the lobby floor.

Built in a pair of townhouses, the hotel is very different than the typical chain alternatives. The rooms are small but cozy and full of beautiful period pieces. Easy walk to the mall and the main visitor attractions in central DC.

Liked the staff, the ambiance of the hotel, the dining room and location. Very comfortable for a historic Inn. Was pleasantly surprised after having had read some of the other reviews. Would stay again without hesitation.

The taxi from the airport only took 20 minutes and it costs $17.00 plus tip.The neighbrhood is classy but no nearby restaurants( the closest was 15 blocks away). The restaurant in the hotel closes at 9:00PM on Thursdays and we got there at 9:15PM...My wife had an accident the week before we got there and she had an injured leg and she was walking with one crutch. We were kindly offered a room very close to the front entrance of the hotel. We had only one robe in the room, asked for another one and it was never brought! The decoration and the room is very nice and clean with lots of space. The TV is very small and totally outdated with a universal remote control. No movie ordering feasible...The TV was inside an armoire that in order to be able to watch it we had to keep both doors opened. The right one made a horrible noise everytime we moved to be able to pass to go to the bathroom...The blanket had a visible hole in one of the corners...Room service was good and the food was good, not terrific, but good...The nicaraguan coffee was fair and it was brought in a contration that was a bit cumbersome to maneuver to be able to pour the coffee in to the cup.we liked the spacious bathroom.

The reception was confrontational, there was dripping water in the lobby, the room looked like a done over shipping crate, the room carpet was done in easily seen not matching rug material and the promoted wireless only worked if you camped in front of the front desk. Never again. The dining room was great, but the other stuff is too high a price to pay.

Nice historic hotel. If you're into a very cool historic hotel experience this is a great place. If you're on a business trip and need a quiet room to prepare for your next day's meetings, stay away. The rooms are very noisy with sounds of the ancient elevator, creaky floors and very loud ventilation fans.

I was so glad to have made the choice to stay at this quaint little hotel!! Great location in downtown D.C. that made it so easy to get to all the sights and museams couldnt have been any better. Doris one of the servers in their fantastic restaurant gave me some of the best service I had in a long time! Can you tell that I loved this place!?!?! Two thumbs up!!!

Location was great. Close enough to the Metro for us to return to the airport using the Metro and MD train system. Within walking distance of things we needed to get to even without the Metro. Hotel itself was very nice. Restaurant, food, beverage service was pleasant but limited.

The valet for your automobile was great! The hotel was a nice surprise. It is located in the heart of DC within walking distance of various restaurants, Embassies, and other venues. The valet for your automobile was very nice. They will park your car in the underground parking and retrieve it if you need it. The hotel staff was very pleasant and was willing to assist with whatever was needed. I will/would definitely stay in the hotel again.

Everything seemed in perfect repair in this charming historic building. My room had a beautiful bed and armoire. The room lacked a table, which would make it harder if I were there for work, however. A gem for the budget-minded traveler with taste.

The rich history of the hotel. Location was nice. Did not see business center/computer to use to check into airline. Front desk had to do this for me. This hotel is rich in history. Hard to believe it was built when Lincoln was President. Got a kick out of the light switches being about 30 inches from the ground and the peep hole on door was too high. Could not see out of it. Room was tastefully decorated. It was a quiet hotel with a friendly staff. Food was excellent in the dining room. Would stay there again.

Morrison Clark Inn is a long but doable walk from Union Station, north of the White House--an old-world hotel with charming courtyard outside the room. The only distraction was the noisy little fridge--I don't know why hotels think we need them. I couldn't unplug it, since the outlet was behind a huge bureau, so I had to use earplugs to sleep.
