We did not like the location of this hotel. The neighborhood was questionable. The staff did not come through for us for our 10th anniversary celebration. The rooms are very dark and there is construction going on next door. The valet workers were the nicest of all employees. What does that tell you? Everyone raved about the beds but they were way too soft for us and the pillows were too big!

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel does not have a pool. Our stay at Moonrise was perfect; wonderful location, beautiful hotel, excellent service, a very trendy palce in a great spot.

This hotel is fairly new, opened in April'09, and has very modern, contemporary decor, which we liked. It has a rooftop bar/terrace area, which was nice to get a drink. From a location perspective, it's great for doing tourist stuff, you're close to Forest Park, which has World's Fair pavilion, museums, zoo, golf course, close enough to downtown and the Arch, casino's, etc. Also, the street the hotel is on, Delmar, has lots of restaurants, shops, Walk of Fame (stars on sidewalk), small concert venue (we saw Better Than Ezra), etc. The main negative was the front desk staff wasn't very knowledgeable (e.g. we asked about a restaurant recommendation for lunch on sunday, but he neglected to mention that they only have a brunch menu).

The lobby was very interesting, and the rooftop bar was a lot of fun. The bathroom door was translucent, and the shower stall glass did not cover the whole shower. Overall, very nice. I wish they had a breakfast included, but access to the internet and printer was easy, and the fitness room was nice. I liked the floor access with key card only, and the room and beds were comfortable. There was easy parking in the back (either valet or self parking). There was no mini fridge or microwave, which would have been nice for our slightly extended stay.

Super friendly service, brand new, great price. Moonrise opened in April, 2009. It's quite modern, wonderful rooms, free parking, free internet, great views (and supposedly the food. We were at a wedding so we didn't use the restaurant) on the top floor. It's also the hot spot in town for cocktails in the evening, but no noise or other objections.

Decor was cool. My bathrobe was still damp when I put it on. There was no shampoo in the room and had to call for it. No frig. Room service screwed up my order. This is not a 4 star hotel. There were to many mistakes. The bed made noise. When you took a shower the water went all over the floor. No bathtub or frig. Didn't feel safe there location to close to North St. Louis. No sign of security anywhere. People going to roof top bar not staying in hotel scary looking.

Best bed ever and really neat furniture, etc in the room. Shower head sprayed on the floor -- hotel is fixing this problem. A very neat hotel near many attractions in Saint Louis. It makes a very romantic get away in Saint Louis.

New hotel, clean. Shower not practical, location not convenient to nice restaurants. Quirky hotel that was fine for the moment. Fixtures looked cheap so be interesting to see condition of hotel in 2 years. Location is in transitional area where not alot of sophisticated choices for nightlife. Shower was trying to be modern but was impractical. Valet was too expensive for the service you received, not attentive.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. Some of the features in the room were more form over function. The hotel is a solid 3star hotel with a very friendly and helpful hotel staff. The location is in a cute, trendy area but can also have heavy traffic on weekend nights. The room was nicely styled and the bed and linens made for a very comfortable sleep. Several minor disappointments no drinking glasses in room, no hotel information in room (would have been good for using the TV and adjusting the thermostat), rainfall shower head is not conducive to taking a shower and not wanting to get your hair wet, and no safe in room. These are minor inconveniences and easily rectified since the hotel was only opened for a month or two when I visited.

Gracious staff, lovely decor and clever theme. The Moon rise was a lovely surprise, had never heard of it before. Staff was very accommodating, rooms boast lovely Asian-inspired, lunar theme decor.

Great location for restaurants, university or metro line into town into airport. Scary stupid pictures of moons, bed too high for short people, windows would not open.

Food was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Poor service overall. A great deal of confusion on check in and check out. I wouldn't recommend it for business travel and believe they have a ways to go in terms of service quality. Food was very good, but wait times were awful.
