Took a last minute trip to Seattle for Memorial Day weekend and got a great rate on Hotel Monaco. It's well appointed, friendly, and perfectly located for exploring the city. Happy hour in the restaurant can't be beat and the rooms were very nice. Overall - Hotel Monaco was a fantastic value and we would definitely go back!

Following a fairly intense but fun business conference, I booked an extra day in Seattle to spend with family and friends. The Hotel Monaco was awesome! My early arrival coincided with the Gay Pride Parade so the street scene was vivid and a bit hectic. Entering the lobby, calm enveloped me. The staff welcomed me and I dropped my bag without qualms about security. I was given walking directions to Pike's Market and set off to get a further preview of the parade on my way to breakfast. From Pike's Market, we went to the Seattle Library, a must see. It just happened to be catty corner from this hotel. After receiving a personal phone call to advise my room was ready, we walked across the street to see the room and put up our feet for a moment. You guessed it - from the 9th floor, the view from my room was directly on to the library! The in-room guide books helped us select a wine bar, Purple, just a few blocks down. As our day ran down, we ventured back to the Hotel Monaco for a late night dinner. The chef served us a fig & prosciutto pizza baked in a wood fired oven which was not on the menu, just something he was trying out. Our wine selection started with an Italian rose and concluded with a Williamette Valley Pinot Noir; both excellent. The next morning, my wake up call was made by staff, not a recording! I will book this hotel again and will search for Kimpton Hotels in other travel destinations (as will my friends who had previously stayed in a Kimpton Hotel in San Francisco)! Fun, inspired decor. Friendly, courteous, accommodating staff! Perfect location, seriously. Romantic (I wished my husband was along)!

Unique loved the atmosphere, the decor was so cute. There were three of us traveling together returning from an Alaskan cruise. We wanted to spend a few extra days in Seattle. The hotel was downtown and perfect. The staff was great, very helpful. The hotel very convientent to the Monorail, Pike Street Market and the SAM. Perfect for our trip.

Artful, well-appointed hotel. No boring decor here! Staff is friendly and anxious to help. From great valet service, to fresh, inspired dining selections, to great help from concierge. I appreciated the full wall of windows. Everything I wanted was right here! Located within walking distance of Pike Place Market, 5th Ave theatre, Westlake Center. Fabulous!

My husband and I were both pleased with the Hotel. It was within walking distance to alot of great attractions such as the Seattle Aquarium, Argosy Cruises, Pike Place Market, etc. The staff did a fabulous job taking care of us. The Valet's and Bellhop took care of us, from speedy service getting our car or retrieving something from our car to directions and possible dinning options. These individuals are worth their weight in gold and the price you pay for the valet service at the hotel. We will definately be returning to the Hotel Monaco on our next trip to Seattle.

I went there with my boyfriend and 2 other friends for a weekend getaway. It was our first time in Seattle and the staff of the Monaco made it very comfortable. We came early in the morning and one of the rooms was ready. It was wonderful, because we got a chance to freshen up before we went sightseeing. The room was assigned according to my Kimpotn In Touch preferences, and I got a small welcome amenity, which was a nice touch. The staff was very hepful, they recommended a great place for breakfast, which was just around the corner. The wine our from 5 to 6pm was great! They aslo provide 10-min massage in the lobby on Tuesdays, it was sooo relaxing, since we spent a lot of time walking! I would definitely recommend this hotel for whatever reason you come to Seattle, whether it is for business or fun!

Very accomodating. Parking is expensive and a coffeemaker needs to be in the room. We have stayed in this hotel twice and loved it both time. It's convenient to everything in Seattle. The staff is always courteous and helpful. The rooms are great. Parking is expensive and my only complaint with the restaurant is at breakfast they charge $3.50 for coffee when you can get it around the corner in the lobby for free. When you spend that much for breakfast it should be included.

Very good location. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere. The hotel was extremely clean, rooms were nice...decent size even for just a queen, not too noisy, staff was friendly and helpful. Didnt make it to their 'happy hour', but the goldfish was a funny/cute touch. Would definitely stay there again.

I chose Hotel Monacco because of the high ratings and location in downtown. I never realized how great the location was. I easily walked to the library, Westlake Mall, Pikes Market, and Pioneer Square. An easy taxi ride to the Space Needle and my stay was complete."

The Hotel Monaco suite was a delight. The room was very decorative, bed was comfortable and jacuzzi tub provided welcome relief at the end of a busy day. The suite was an oversized room with a desk and a separate lounging chair for reading or relaxing. The refrigerator was stocked with drinks for purchase and the bathroom is completely separate from the bedroom. The location downtown is excellent for walking to the Market Place or catching a cab within reason to visit nearby locations such as the Underground Tour or one of the area harbor cruises. If you bring a car, be ready to pay $40 per day for valet parking as this is the only parking available. The treatment we received from employees at the hotel was exceptional. We were greeted by name each time we left and returned. The staff assisted us in scheduling tours, an evening at Teatre Zin Zannie with excellent seats and a map with detailed information on must sees in Seattle. This was our first visit to Seattle and we will return and definitely stay at the same hotel.

Comfortable and colorfully fun. Location is great for a walk to Pioneer Square and Library and Art Museum. Lots of restaurants nearby as well. Amenities like business center and gym right where you need them. European style, small and beautiful.

Very clean rooms, nice staff. Do not like the Boutique decor or firm mattress. My wife and I wanted to stay in a nice hotel that was also conveniently located. We were looking for hotels within walking distance to Seattle's attractions. The hotel is in downtown and not to far from everything. The room was very clean, good size, and quiet. Staff was very courteous. I would of preferred a pillow-top mattress instead of the firm bed. I didn't really care for the boutique look or decor of rooms. I would recommend this hotel for the location, nice staff, and clean rooms.

Nice friendly staff and a great location, but the deco is dated and looks old and worn. I think this was 4 stars in 1995, but not today.
