The new buildings are inferior in quality to the existing ones. Everything is being jammed in, presumably, to make the developer rich. The pool area is boring and tacky. Service where it exists is poor.

our magical stay here was enhanced by the five star food that was served by the charming restaurant. it is just right in size to give top service. only fault we could find is the clothes washer was not working properly and we left with wet laundry. we will book here again without hesitation.

This is a superb hotel - the service was excellent, room clean, lots of hot water and such a comfy bed! The gardens were lovely too. The design is rather like a country village in England and is quite charming. When we left something behind the staff were kind enough to find it and send it on. It was not the cheapest hotel but it certainly was of the highest quality and we'd love to come again.

A thoroughly unpleasant despite its quite ""chocolate box-pretty"" surroundings. The rooms are inordinately small, most uncomfortably there is no is air-conditioning in the hotel. Temperatures inside reached the 40's (Celsius), there is no bar fridge in the room (no closet either), no drinking water available in the rooms, no room service at night and no bar in the hotel! The unbearable heat prevented us being iinside between 10 am and 6 pm. Eventually found a fan to circulate warm air, so it was possible to return there in the late afternoon.

Fantastic and very lucky to be given an upgrade for my elderely Mum where she had more room to relax in the lounge area of a beautiful apartment. If you love gardens this hotel has got it!

Unique design, friendly staff, excellent facilities and a quality restaurant . . . what more could you want? We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay and will definitely be returning. We will also recommend it to friends. A little off the beaten track, but that has advantages too. Our apartment in the centre of the complex was very quiet but other apartments may not be . . . close to restaurant, car parks etc. We highly recommend.

Overall a lovely place to stay, a lovely english type feel about it and stunning view out the window, would go back there anytime

Basic design is silly. Surprisingly small double-bed room - only one chair, hanging space shared with suitcase stand, no drawers for unpacking, no fridge, coffee stuff stored below suitcase stand. Window was left open after room was made up - is this the a/c control? The bathroom is h u g e , and covered with fake pink marble - but there is still little space to put out toiletries.

Quite a unique place - old English style, in a large complex. Very easy to spot if you are flying into the Nelson airport, as it is only maximum 5 min from it. You won't hear much of the airport noise though, as the airport is not particularly busy and certainly doesn't seem to have evening or early morning flights. We stayed in a hotel room that's on the ground floor, and opened up to a little patio. While it faces the main street, the little pond and garden between the hotel and the street makes it not much of a problem. I have spent 15 min each day sitting in the patio in the sun, reading, which was quite plesant. The only noise problem was with the restaurant, which was right next to us. But since we went out for dinner, by the time we got back it's usually pretty quiet again. I am quite happy with the whole experience of Monaco except for the bed, which I found to be too soft and therefore uncomfortable.
