| it is recommended. it has excellent location on the grand canal & very close to water bus & water taxi stops.
In addition it is very close to San Marco square about 5 minutes walking.
the positive thing of the Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel Venice having a coffee shop/restaurant on the grand canal ( good view). bad thing is the break fast is very simple.Generally, it is highly recommended. |

The hotel is great with a lovely terrace-restaurante overlooking the Gran Canal. It's location couldn't be better, right next to the Piazza San MNarce and all thhe posh shops.

The hotel is a depandance of Hotel Monaco thus breakfast is served outside Selvadego. Top location, but watch out, the room had wooden soffit and the timber beams squeak and make crack noise all time, did not sleep very well, I asked to change the room but not very friendly reception did not help.

I was travelling with my sister. The hotel was welcoming, and in a great location. The only downside was the breakfast provided, i recommend you skip the breakfast and buy something to eat in one of the local shops.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, only a few steps from St Marks square. The terrace rest overlooks the Grand Canal and on a nice day is hard to beat. The service is good but like a lot of establishment hotels of this type a little off handed. The rooms seem to vary quite a lot which is typical of hotels in Venice, however all in all they are quite good for Venice. I would stay there again.

What a find!! The Monaco & Grand Canal Hotel Venice is in a fantastic location; just a few steps from St Marks Square and right next to the Waterbus stop. You check into Hotel Monaco which was very straight forward and then they take you and your luggage round to the Palazzo Selvadego which also has a 24hr reception. Room was lovely and had a gorgeous HUGE shower and although no view this was not a problem...especially when we paid such a good rate! This place is surrounded by designer shops and you really cant beat the location. You have breakfast at the Hotel Monaco which is a really lovely setting...outside right on the water. Breakfast wasn't much (tea/coffee and a couple of croissants and rolls etc) but it was enough and you could always order eggs etc at an additional cost. Service was excellent and overall we had a really great stay...I would deffinitely reccommend this hotel to my friends and would not hesitate to stay there again if I return to Venice!

On arrival to the Monaco Grand we were greeted with the most professional reception staff. The rooms were fantastic. Compact, and clean. We had breakfast in our room the first morning at no additional charge. The continental breakfast was fresh and sufficient. We took a day trip to Munrano and the hotel provided us with a complimentary private watertaxi, it made the trip feel really special. I have stayed in Venice before but the Monaco Grand made this visit the best yet and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Three cheers to the staff in the Monaco Grand from a very satisfied Irish Customer

Great location right on the grand canal near Piazza de San Marco. Service was a little slow checking in and out but the concierge was very helpful. They have a water taxi that goes directly to Murano Island which was a nice service. The room was nice and clean but a little cramped.

An excellent stay - even in the recently refurbished annexe just a few paces from St Mark's square. Good quality fixtures and fittings, even a kettle and tea/coffee provided, good central location, lovely bathroom and above all (in March) very reasonable prices - 100 euros per room only, including a small continental breakfast in the main hotel overlooking the della Salute church.

The hotel is within a minute of Piazza San Marco - a definite plus since this stay was for Carnevale. The price was excellent considering the location. This is an annex to the Monaco and Grand Canal hotel - the breakfast was a couple of blocks away (which is no problem at all). The breakfast room overlooks the Grand Canal.

We found this to be a wonderful hotel, great location, easy to find and check in was swift and uneventful. Rooms were very clean, spacious and decorated to a high standard. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Fantastic to have breakfast on the Grand Canal, as one guest previously commented, " you can almost touch the Gondolas" very true. The Vaporetto from the airport arrives at the front door of the hotel, very reassuring when visiting for the first time. Well beyond our expectation and so worth staying here.

The actual hotel is a short walk from the "mother" hotel where a customer checks in, however the hotel employees were good at helping us find the "other" hotel. The room was comfortable but nothing to write home. We had to leave one hotel to go to the "mother" hotel for breakfast - the breakfast was very simple, however, you could order a more substantial breakfast for a price. The location is good if you want to me close to St. Mark.
