Moka Hotel Pinar del Rio

Located just forty nine miles west of Havana in the Las Terrazas forest preserve, Hotel Moka is one of Cuba's most unique hotels. Set amid the forested hills of Las Terrazas, it's difficult to say where the 4 star hotel finishes and the forest starts. Simply put, the Moka is romantic, intimate, and fully deserving of your time. Moka's designed is based on a contemporary interpretation of Spanish colonial architecture, and features a splendid multi-tiered atrium lobby built around a large lime tree (the branches magically disappear through the skylight). The two-story units have magnificent red-barked trees growing through the balconies and ceiling. Each room has floor-to-ceiling glass windows and a French door leading onto a spacious terracotta tiled balcony with tables, reclining chairs, and a to-die-for view through the trees to the lake. The bathroom is as romantic as can be with a big tub at the base of an enormous window looking out over the woods.
