The Mithila Hotel was established in 1920 & fully restored in 1998. Restoration took nearly 2 years to complete taking care to maintain original ceiling moldings and marble flooring. The Mithila Hotel, formerly the Roy croft Hotel, is a highly regarded boutique hotel with modern amenities and affordable rates. Our family has been at this location for the last 20 years. Along the way we have changed our name once, but we have learned that the most important characteristic customers look for has not changed a friendly and welcoming staff that exudes traditional hospitality. We opened The Mithila Hotel with a simple idea: at your favorite hotel, you feel like you're coming home. You'll find warm, comfortable surroundings and friendly staff who greet you by name. it's not a good hotel,even come with breakfast but it was really bad.and there is nobody at frontdesk all the time.they have shuttle but it is expensive.and i want to cancel my last night it could be allowed!it was a really bad experience!!!

Horrible stay ... as soon as we walked in it had a weird smell, like bad restroom smell. Very old, beds were uncomfortable, the restroom sink and shower had rust. This place is more of a hostel - I think i've stayed at nicer cleaner hostels than this hotel. Had booked for 2 nights , left after the first night. Horrible experience , will never be back ! They also advertise parking on site - LIE - its about two blocks from hotel.

Depend on the price, the Breakfast isn't well. The elevator was broken everyday as I stayed there four days.I don't think the staff is friendly to me.

Not good experience for me. The elevator was broken everyday, not convenient, especially my heavy luggage.The breakfast was. I don't think that's breakfast.The front desk was not 24hr, nice and helpful.The floorboard wasn't firmly.The shower nozzle wasn't smooth. Every morning comes loud trashcar operating voice at 6:00 AM.My room cost USD94/day. I won't stay there again.

Well this hotel advertised a full breakfast and all it was is a coffee mahine set up out the front of the serive desk with some muffins, self serve outmeal. No eggs, no bowls, I had to use a cup to mix the outmeal and hot water. Once the coffee was gone it was never re-filled, you could not ask for any because they had shut the service counter. The service was very poor, I was made to feel like I was inconvenieing them. The room was clean but my bathroom had ants. The price is ridiculous for what you get. A friend stayed at the travelodge for half the price and his room was twice the size. Location is ok, can walk to able cars and china town but San Fran is hilly so better of to walk.

This hotel would have been a good value at around $50. But it was $80, probably because it was Labor Day Weekend. It was also a little farther away from Union Square than I'd thought, and I wasn't comfortable (single female) walking alone at night back to the hotel, being so close to the Tenderloin. Otherwise, the room was fine and seemed clean. The bed was comfortable.

The Mithila was fine for what I wanted to pay. If you're only in your room to sleep, it was more than adequate. Clean room, not too noisy, updated bathroom, and coffee/rolls for morning without having to leave hotel. Not a great tv, no lobby and would not want to spend a lot of time in the room--but it was fine if you're not expecting too much. Parking right next door for $14/day.

They have several rooms with shared bathroom. I do not recommned this to anyone as a single female, I id not feel secure using hte shared bathroom. I got an upgrade on night two for addiotnal money and the room was adequate, but there are no frills. Bare essentials, no amenities, bad TV reception. Internet was comlementary, but slow. Steep stair case, poor continental breakfast, old, but overall clean. For backpackers, this is a great stop, for all other clients, not really sutible.

The Mithila Hotel was a safe place to sleep. Nothing really more about it. It is an old building in the downtown area. I would not have wanted to spend more than one night there.

The Mithila Hotel in San Fran is a good place to stay if you are looking for something simple, clean, and quiet. For the money I was very please and the staff was friendly. If the Ritz is what you are looking for this is not the place for you. This hotel is in a convenient area and good for the money.

The rooms are small. If you are looking for a bed and shower for a lower price, this is a good place, and good location.
